Frequently Asked Questions - Plaat GK130 Eldom

How do I use the grill as a contact grill?
Close the cover, set the temperature using the thermostat, wait for the green lamp to turn off indicating it's ready, open the cover, place food, and gently close the cover. The top plate adjusts to the thickness of the food. Do not press down.
How do I use the grill as a horizontal grill?
Ensure the grill is cold. Press the lock button and open the top cover fully until it lies flat (180°). Route the power cord away from the hot surface. Then plug in, set temperature, and place food on both heated plates. Turn food occasionally.
How do I clean the grill?
Disconnect and let it cool completely. Wipe the heating plates with paper towels to remove grease, then clean with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water. The fat container can be washed in warm soapy water.
What do the indicator lights mean?
The red lamp lights up when the grill is connected to power. The green lamp indicates the grill is heating; it turns off when the set temperature is reached and cycles on/off to maintain temperature.
Can I use metal utensils on the cooking plates?
No, use only wooden, plastic, or heat-resistant utensils to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.
Is the grill suitable for outdoor use?
No, the grill is designed for indoor household use only and should not be used outdoors or near flammable materials.
What should I do if the power cord is damaged?
Do not use the grill. Contact an authorized service center for repair or replacement. Do not attempt to repair yourself.
Why is there a smell during first use?
A slight odor is normal due to manufacturing residues. Ensure good ventilation (e.g., open a window) and run the grill empty for a few minutes to burn off any residues.
Can children use this grill?
Children aged 8 and above can use it under supervision. Children under 8 must be kept away from the appliance and its cord. Cleaning and maintenance should not be done by children.
How do I store the grill?
Ensure it is clean and completely dry. Store in a cool, dry place. If storing with the cord wrapped, do not wrap tightly around the appliance to avoid damage.
