Frequently Asked Questions - IB-DK2405-C Icy Box

What video resolutions does the IB-DK2405-C support?
The docking station supports up to 3840x2160@60Hz on a single display via DisplayPort or HDMI. With DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 and DSC, resolutions up to 5120x2880@60Hz are possible on DP outputs. Video output depends on your laptop's graphics and cable quality.
Can I charge my laptop through the docking station?
Yes, the USB-C host interface supports Power Delivery up to 85W. The laptop must support USB PD over USB-C. If the laptop's USB-C port does not support PD, the dock will still function for data and video but will not charge the laptop.
Is the docking station compatible with macOS?
Yes, it works with macOS. However, macOS only supports dual and triple video output in mirror mode (SST). Extended desktop is limited to one additional monitor; a second external monitor will be mirrored.
How many monitors can I connect?
You can connect up to three external monitors simultaneously using the two DisplayPort and one HDMI ports. For triple output, the laptop's built-in display must be deactivated in display settings. Supported configurations are detailed in the video matrix tables.
What type of USB-C port do I need on my laptop?
For full functionality, the laptop's USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery (or Thunderbolt 3). If the port lacks PD, data and video still work but no charging. Some ports only provide data, which is insufficient.
Does it support Ethernet?
Yes, it has a built-in RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port supporting speeds up to 10/100/1000 Mbit/s. Simply connect a network cable to access wired internet.
How do I set up multiple monitors on Windows?
Connect monitors to the DisplayPort and HDMI ports. Right-click on the desktop, select Display settings, identify each monitor, and choose Extend desktop or Duplicate. For triple output, deactivate the notebook display in the same menu. Refer to the manual for resolution configuration.
What is included in the box?
The package contains: the IB-DK2405-C docking station, one power supply, one power cable, one USB Type-C to Type-C cable, and a quick installation guide.
Can I use it with a USB-A laptop?
No, the docking station requires a USB Type-C port on your laptop to function. It cannot be used with USB-A ports, as the necessary video and power delivery signals are not available via USB-A.
How do I clean the device?
Disconnect the power adapter before cleaning. Use a dry, anti-static cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use aggressive solvents or liquids that could cause short circuits.
