Does the IB-DK4028-CPD support 4K resolution?

Yes, the HDMI port supports Ultra HD resolutions up to 3840x2160@30Hz if the connected display supports it.

Can I charge my notebook through this docking station?

Yes, the USB Type-C port dedicated to Power Delivery can charge your notebook with up to 100W (20V@5A) when using the original power supply connected to that port.

What type of USB-C port does my laptop need?

For full functionality, the host USB Type-C port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery (or Thunderbolt 3). Without PD, the dock will still work but will not charge the notebook.

How many memory cards can I use at once?

The card reader is Single-LUN, meaning only one card (SD or microSD) can be accessed at a time. Insert one card at a time.

Is the docking station compatible with Chromebook?

Yes, but note that when connecting a mouse to a USB 3.0 port on a Chromebook, there may be a few seconds delay before it works. This is a known behavior with similar adapters.

How do I clean the IB-DK4028-CPD?

Disconnect the device from power and use a dry anti-static cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or solvents.

What should I do if I experience data loss?

The USB Type-C ^® DockingStation by ICY BOX in elegant design and with Power Delivery technology is designed for connection to a computer (e.g. laptop, notebook, etc.) with Type-C ^® interface and DisplayPort ^™ Alt Mode support in order to be able to connect additional monitors, USB peripherals, LAN and memory cards. Starting up

Requirements

• Host computer with an available USB Type-C ^ port (to ensure full dock functionality, the host USB Type-C ^ port must support USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort ^TM Alt Mode or Thunderbolt ^® 3)
• Any of the following operating systems: Windows ^® 10, macOS ^®

Note: The DockingStation can still connect to a host computer with a USB Type-® port that does not support Power Delivery (but must still support DisplayPort™ Alt Mode). In this configuration, the DockingStation will not provide power to your host notebook.

USB Type-C®

Not all USB Type-C® ports support the full functionality of the USB Type-C® standard. Some ports might only provide data transfers, and might not support video or Power Delivery over USB.

USB Type-C™ ≠ USB Type-C™

Important!

This ICY BOX product requires the usage of DisplayPort™ Alt Mode technology over the USB Type-C™ connector. Not all computers, notebooks or tablets with a USB Type-C™ interface support the DisplayPort™ Alt Mode.

Please check the specifications of your computer system as well as its USB Type-CTM interface or use the ICY RCX product with a Thunderbolt™ 3 connector.

To use this dock to its full potential, ensure that the host USB Type-C® port from your computer supports DisplayPort® Alt Mode, as well as USB Power Delivery or Thunderbolt® 3. Note! The USB Type-C® port on the DockingStation supports only Power Delivery (no data transfer).

Install and use the docking station

1. Connect USB Type-C ^® cable

2. Connect your devices to the appropriate interfaces on the dock

The dock will automatically install some of the required drivers once it is connected to your notebook's USB Type-C® port. If you receive a prompt to automatically install the driver(s), follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

3. Connect your external display to the DockingStation's video port.

Note: Video output capabilities are dependent on the video card and hardware specifications of your connected host notebook. Certain graphic cards have limited support, while some monitors will also limit the output resolution.

Configure a display device

Please setup your display settings accordingly to your operating system and requirements. For detailed information, see the corresponding operation manual and description of your operating system.

The DockingStation supports: Ultra HD resolution via HDMI® if the connected HDMI® display supports it.

Usage of memory card slots SD card

Insert the SD card into the SD card slot with the bevelled corner in front of it. The golden PIN's of the card must be directed downwards (blue LED at the top).

microSD card

Insert the microSD card into the microSD card slot with the bevelled corner in front of it. The golden PIN's of the card must be directed upwards (blue LED at the top).

Single-LUN - the card reader can only work with one memory card at a time

Note: In order to power and charge your connected laptop, its USB Type-C® port must support USB Power Delivery or Thunderbolt® 3.

Important

1. When connecting the USB Type-C ^ plug of the IB-DK4028-CPD to a Chromebook ^™ , the mouse to be connected to the USB 3.0 Type-A port will not work immediately, but with a few seconds delay. This problem also occurs with other similar Type-C ^ adapters (including Apple original 3-in-1 adapter) when connecting to a Chromebook ^™ .

2. Attention! When plugging in and out a Power Delivery adapter to the Type-C interface of the IB-DK4028-CPD, the connected USB devices will get disconnected flashily and then reconnect within a few seconds. In order to prevent possible data loss or corruption, do not disconnect the Power Delivery adapter from AC power while data transfer is in process.
