Frequently Asked Questions - FH222E-B Cotech

How do I use the fan heater for cool air only?
Set the function selector knob to the fan symbol (cool air mode) and ensure the thermostat knob is turned to the maximum setting. The fan will then operate without heating.
Why does the fan heater turn off by itself?
The fan heater has automatic overheat protection and a tip-over switch. It may turn off if it overheats or is knocked over. Check that it is on a level surface and not blocked. If overheated, allow it to cool down; it will restart automatically.
How do I set the desired room temperature?
Turn the function selector to warm (I) or hot (II). Rotate the thermostat knob clockwise to max. When the room reaches your desired temperature, slowly turn the thermostat knob counterclockwise until you hear a click. The heater will then cycle on/off to maintain that temperature.
Can I use an extension cord with this fan heater?
No, do not use an extension cord. Connect the fan heater directly to a suitable wall outlet (230 V, 50 Hz).
What should I do if the fan heater does not start?
Check that the plug is securely connected and the outlet is live. Ensure the fan heater is on a level surface (the tip-over switch may be triggered). Also, verify the thermostat setting hasn't turned it off (see thermostat instructions).
How close can I place the fan heater to furniture or curtains?
Keep at least 1 meter away from combustible materials like furniture, curtains, bedding, and paper. Also maintain at least 15 cm clearance from walls or other objects.
Is the fan heater safe to leave unattended?
No, never leave the fan heater unattended while it is switched on. Always unplug it when not in use.
Can I use the fan heater in a bathroom?
No, do not use the fan heater near bathtubs, showers, or pools. It is for indoor domestic use only in dry areas.
How do I clean the fan heater?
Unplug the fan heater and allow it to cool. Wipe the exterior with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Never immerse it in water or allow moisture to enter the openings.
What does the thermal fuse do and can it be reset?
The thermal fuse is a safety device that permanently cuts power if overheating occurs beyond the normal protection. It cannot be reset; if it triggers, the fan heater must be discarded and replaced.
