- Launching
Two persons (beginner):
Stand with your back to the wind and hold the spool tightly. Your partner holds the kite tightly and moves about 20 m downwind of you. Allow the control string to unwind from the spool during this process. Hold the kite so that the string is kept taut.
Tell your partner when he can let the kite go. He must then immediately remove himself from the flying range of the kite and the control string.
■ Move backwards into the wind. The kite should now climb.
One person (advanced):
- Unwind approx. 2 m of the control string and place the kite approx. 2 m away from you on the ground with its top side facing upwards. Hold the spool tightly.
Now pull sharply backwards on the kite using the spool. The kite should now climb.
Landing
■ Ensure that the landing zone is large enough so that you cannot injure any other persons.
Draw the kite out of the wind and slacken the control string quickly by allowing more string to unwind from the spool. Stand with your shoulder to the wind.
- Have a second person hold the kite while you wind the control string back on to the spool. This will ensure that the kite cannot inadvertently climb back into the air.
● Cleaning and care
