They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use. Only use the unit as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.

Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging material. The packaging material represents a danger of suffocation. Children frequently underestimate the dangers. Please keep children away from the product at all times.

The connecting cable cannot be repaired! If the cable is damaged, the product must be taken out of use and disposed of in the proper way.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

CAUTION! RISK OF OVERHEATING! Do

not operate the product inside the packaging.

Do not pull the light chain cable and make sure it is laid down properly so that no one walks or trips over it.

The product can be used on all surfaces officially classified as being of "normal flammability".

- Do not use the product if you discover it is damaged in any way.

■ Never open any electrical fittings or allow any object to be inserted into them.

■This lamp is only intended for use

indoors.

This product must not be electrically connected to another product.

The LEDs are permanently attached to the light set and are not replaceable. If one or more of the LEDs become damaged, the product must be made unusable and disposed of properly.

Dangers arising from the use of batteries

WARNING! DANGER TO LIFE! Batteries

are not intended to be in the hands of children.

Do not leave batteries lying around. They could be swallowed by children or pets. In the event of swallowing a battery, contact a doctor immediately!

CAUTION! DANGER OF EX-

PLOSION! Never recharge single-use batteries. Do not short-circuit or open them. Overheating, fire or destruction of the batteries might result. Never throw batteries into fire or water. The batteries might explode.

- Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures as they may affect batteries e.g. above radiators. Otherwise the batteries are more likely to leak.

Exhausted or damaged batteries can cause caustic burns upon contact with the skin. To avoid this, always

wear suitable protective gloves in these circumstances!

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes if fluid is leaking from the batteries. If you come into contact with corrosive battery fluids, flush the affected area thoroughly with clean water and contact a doctor immediately.

■ Remove the batteries if you are not going to use the device for an extended period.

■ When inserting the batteries, ensure the correct polarity! This is shown in the battery compartment.

■ Remove the spent batteries immediately from the device. There is an increased danger of leaks!

■ Batteries must not be disposed of in the normal domestic waste!

■ Every consumer is legally obliged to dispose of batteries in the proper manner!

- Keep batteries away from children; do not throw them in the fire, short-circuit them or take them apart.

If the above instructions are not complied with, the batteries may discharge themselves beyond their end voltage. There is then a danger of

leaking. If the batteries have leaked inside your device, you should remove them immediately in order to prevent damage to the device!

■ Always replace all batteries at the same time and only use batteries of the same type.

Initialuse

- Inserting / replacing batteries

☐ Open the battery compartment 2 by removing the battery cover 6.
☐ Insert three batteries 5, 1.5 V-AA in the battery compartment 2.
☐ Close the battery compartment 2 by reinstalling the battery cover 6.

- Switching on and off

☐ Use the ON / OFF switch 3 to switch the product on or off.

- Cleaning and care

• Do not use solvents, such as petrol and the like, as they could damage the product.
  ☐ Only a dry, lint-free cloth should be used for cleaning.

●Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.

To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.

Environmental damage through incorrect disposal of the batteries!

Batteries must not be disposed off with domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical symbols of the heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used batteries at a local collection point.

● Guarantee and Service

Note: This product includes a 36 month warranty from the date of purchase. This product was manufactured with care and thoroughly inspected prior to delivery. However, if defects in manufacturing or material arise during the warranty period, please contact your retailer immediately.

The warranty does not cover damages due to improper handling, failure to comply with the operating instructions, or manipulation by unauthorised persons. Most malfunctions are caused by incorrect operation. Therefore please first refer to the operating instructions if a malfunction occurs.

Contact the Uni-Elektra GmbH service address before returning the product. The product can only be accepted after contacting us. Postage due shipments will not be accepted. Warranty services do not extend or restart the warranty period of 36 months.
