Product-specific safety instructions
■ Make sure the solar cell is free of dirt and free of snow and ice in winter. Otherwise the performance of the solar panel will be diminished.
- Cold temperatures negatively impact the battery operating time. If the solar lights are not used for an extended period of time, e.g. during winter, they should be cleaned and stored in a dry, warm room.
Safety notices
This product is not suitable as residential room lighting.

● Safety instructions for rechargeable batteries

DANGRIQOLIFAND RISK
OF ACCIDENT FOR INFANTS AND CHILDREN!
Rechargeable batteries are not intended to be in the hands of children. Do not leave the batteries lying around. There is a danger that these will be swallowed by children or pets. If they are accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention.

CAUTION! EXPLOSION HAZARD! Use only re-
chargeable batteries of the recommended type. Other rechargeable or single-use batteries could explode during charging.

FIRE HAZARD! Never short-circuit rechargeable bat-
teries. Otherwise the rechargeable batteries may overheat, become a fire hazard or explode.

CAUTION! EXPLOSION HAZARD! Never throw
rechargeable batteries into fire or water.
- Expired or drained rechargeable batteries may leak chemicals which will damage the product. Remove, therefore, the rechargeable battery when the lamp is not required for any length of time.

WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or damaged
rechargeable batteries could cause chemical burns on contact with the skin; you should therefore wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs.
Safety notices / Functionality / Initial use
- Only use rechargeable batteries of the correct size and the recommended type (see section "Technical data").
■ Ensure correct polarity, indicated in the battery compartment.
Functionality
The solar cell built into the product converts sunlight into electricity and stores it in a Ni-MH rechargeable battery. The light switches on at dusk. The in-built light-emitting diodes have a very long-life and are an energy-saving light source. The light duration depends on the amount of sunlight, the angle at which light hits the solar panel, and the temperature (the battery capacity varies by temperature). A vertical angle of light at temperatures above the freezing point is ideal. The rechargeable battery will only achieve its maximum capacity after several charging and discharging cycles.
-Initialuse
- Assembling the light
Thread the LED wire 2 carefully through the glass light bulb 1.
□ Attach the glass light bulb 1 to the stake 3.
□ Connect the ground stake 5 to the stake 3.
☐ Then push the ground stake 3 into the ground in the desired location.
☐ Fold down the solar cell housing with battery compartment 4.
• Installing the light
■ Make sure it is firmly positioned. Do not use any force when assembling or installing the product, e.g. striking with a hammer. This will damage the product. For optimal results, install the solar light in a location where the solar cell will be exposed to direct sunlight for a long time.
☐ Push the assembled solar light far enough into the ground (lawn, flower bed) so it is stable. Please note the assembly steps in chapter "Assembling the light".
☐ Be sure the solar cell will not be affected by other light sources, e.g. outdoor or street lighting, or the light will not switch on at dusk.
☐ The light will automatically switch on in low light and switch off at normal ambient brightness.
● Replacing the rechargeable battery
For optimal results, replace the battery every 12 months.
☐ This product uses a rechargeable battery type AAA 1.2 V 300mAh Ni-MH (included).
☐ Slide the ON / OFF switch 6 to the "OFF" position.
☐ Flip up the solar cell housing / battery compartment 4.
☐ Use a cross-tip screwdriver to unscrew the fastening screws. Then use a slotted screwdriver to pry open the battery cover on the solar cell housing 4.
☐ Replace the old battery with a new one; be careful not to damage the cables. Please note the polarity when inserting the battery. This is shown inside the battery compartment 4. Use only rechargeable batteries of the recommended type (see "Technical Data").
... / Maintenance and cleaning / Troubleshooting
☐ Close the battery compartment and tighten the fixing screws using a small cross-tip screwdriver.
☐ Slide the ON / OFF switch 6 to the "ON" position.
☐ Flip down the solar cell housing / battery compartment 4.
- Charging the battery
Please note, the solar light must be switched on when charging the battery. The charging time via the solar cell varies by the intensity of the sunlight and the incidence angle of light onto the solar cell. Place the solar cell as perpendicular as possible to incidence angle of light. This will ensure the brightest light.
● Maintenance and cleaning
The LEDs cannot be replaced. The solar light is maintenance-free except for replacing the battery as necessary.
- Do not use solvents, petrol, etc. This will damage the product.
☐ Regularly clean the LED solar light with a dry, lint-free cloth. Use a slightly moist cloth if very dirty.
- Troubleshooting
Note: The device contains sensitive electronic components. Radio transmitting equipment in the immediate vicinity may therefore cause interference. If you notice the device is malfunctioning, remove any sources of interference from the area around the device.
Troubleshooting / Disposal
Note: Electrostatic discharge can cause malfunctions. In the event of such malfunctions, briefly remove and reinsert the rechargeable batteries.
| Error Cause Solution | ||
