Frequently Asked Questions - KG 7319 BOMANN

How do I adjust the temperature in the refrigerator?
The temperature is controlled by a thermostat dial inside the refrigerator. Turn the dial to a higher number for colder temperature and lower for warmer. A medium setting (3-4) is recommended for normal use.
My refrigerator is not cooling properly. What should I do?
Check that the appliance is level and the door seals are clean. Ensure the condenser coils at the back are dust-free. Verify that the thermostat is set correctly and the compressor is running. If the problem persists, contact Bomann service.
How often should I defrost the freezer?
Defrost the freezer when ice thickness exceeds 5 mm (about 1/4 inch). This typically occurs every few months. Remove food, unplug the appliance, and let ice melt naturally. Do not use sharp tools to remove ice.
Can I reverse the door opening direction?
Yes, the door is reversible. You can change the hinge side by following the instructions in the manual. This may require a screwdriver and some time. Ensure the appliance is unplugged before starting.
What is the proper way to clean the refrigerator?
Unplug the refrigerator first. Clean the interior with a mild detergent and warm water. Wipe dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners. The condenser coils should be vacuumed every few months for efficiency.
Why is there water at the bottom of the refrigerator?
This is often due to a blocked defrost drain. Clean the drain hole using a cotton swab or soft wire. Make sure the drain pan is correctly positioned. If water persists, check if the door is sealing properly.
What does the climate class N-ST mean?
Climate class N-ST indicates that the refrigerator is designed to operate in ambient temperatures from 16°C to 38°C (60°F to 100°F). Operating outside this range may affect performance.
How do I level the refrigerator?
Use adjustable feet at the bottom front of the appliance. Turn them clockwise to raise, counterclockwise to lower. The refrigerator should be slightly tilted backward so that doors close easily.
What should I do if the door won't close properly?
Check that the appliance is level. Ensure no food packages are blocking the door. Clean the gasket (seal) with warm water. If the gasket is damaged, replace it. Overloading can also cause poor closure.
How can I save energy with my refrigerator?
Keep the refrigerator away from heat sources and allow adequate ventilation. Do not set the thermostat colder than necessary. Avoid frequent door openings and keep food organized. Defrost regularly and clean coils.

Freezerreezer

The 4-star freezer allows you to store frozen food at a temperature of ≤ -18^ for several months; to produce ice cubes and to freeze fresh food. The temperature of the freezer is automatically controlled by the temperature control in the fridge.

FreezingFreezing

- 24 hours before freezing we recommend turning the temperature control to the highest power level and to keep this setting even after freezing for a few hours. The appliance is not compromised if the setting will not revert to a normal operating temperature after the freezing process, but for economic reasons you should possibly avoid it.

- Fresh food should be frozen as fast as possible to the core. During freezing operation, the temperature of fresh food should be lowered as fast as possible to keep formation of ice crystals as little as possible and not to damage the food structure.

- Frozen food should be kept in contact with the bottom of the compartment.

- Keep a space between the individual items, so that the cold air can circulate.

Storing frozen foodStoring frozen food

- Packed frozen merchandise should be stored in a 4-star-freezer compartment in accordance with the manufacturer's data. Make sure the food items do not defrost after purchase and to store them as fast as possible in the freezer.

- It is possible to store food for longer periods of time, up to three months. This period might vary, so observe the storage information on the packaging of the merchandise.

General safety precautions General safety precaution

- Do not exceed the maximum freezing capacity. See data under "EU Product Data Sheet" or on the rating label.

- Do not store bottles or cans. These can break when the contents freeze – or even explode, if they contain carbonated drinks.

- Once products have been defrosted halfway or completely, they should be consumed as soon as possible and should not be frozen again, except they have been processed to a ready meal.

  • Keep closed the unit door in case of power failure. If the failure does not take longer than 16 hours, the food will not be affected.
  • Do not eat food that is still frozen. Do not eat ice cream directly from the freezer. The cold can cause injuries in the oral cavity.
