You have clearly decided in favour of a quality product.
These operating instructions are a component of the Shiatsu Neck Massage Cushion SSMN 3 A1 (henceforth designated as the appliance) and they provide you with important information about the intended use, safety and connection as well as operation of the appliance.
These operating instructions must be constantly kept available close to the appliance. They are to be read and applied by everyone assigned to operate, and eliminate faults in, the appliance.
Retain these operating instructions and pass them on, together with the appliance, to any future owner.

Intended use
This appliance is intended for massaging the napes of adults.
This appliance is intended solely for personal use in the domestic sector, it is not to be used for medical or commercial applications and may not substitute for medical treatment. The appliance is designed for use in dry indoor rooms. It is not intended for use in the medical/therapeutic or commercial fi elds.

1) Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the carton.
2) Remove all packaging material.
3) Clean all parts of the appliance as described in the section "Cleaning".
NOTICE
▶ Check the contents to ensure that everything is present and for signs of visible damage.
▶ If the delivery is not complete or something is damaged due to defective packaging or through transportation contact the Service Hotline (see chapter Service).
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance from transport damage. The packaging materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.

The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material that is no longer needed as per the regionally established regulations.
NOTICE
▶ If possible, preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty period so that, in the event of a warranty claim, you can package the appliance appropriately for its return.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
- Connect the appliance only to correctly installed and earthed mains power sockets. Ensure that the rating of the local power supply tallies completely with the details given on the rating plate of the appliance.
▶ Ensure that the power cable cannot become wet or damp while the appliance is in operation. Place it such that it cannot be crushed or damaged.
▶ Keep the power cable away from hot surfaces.
▶ Do not perform any repairs on the appliance. All repairs must be performed by our Customer Services or by qualified personnel.
▶ Always remove the plug from the mains power socket before you clean the appliance.
▶ Do not use the appliance in damp areas, such as in the bathroom.
▶ To avoid risks, arrange for defective plugs and/or cables to be replaced at once by qualified technicians or our Customer Service Department.
▶ Do not insert needles or other sharp objects into the appliance.

▶ Do not use an external timing switch or a separate remote control system to operate the appliance.
This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiencies in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
▶ Do not massage infants, young children, helpless persons or animals with the appliance.
▶ NEVER use the appliance if you have injuries or pain in the neck or cervical spine.
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
▶ Stop treatment with the appliance IMMEDIATELY if you feel it to be uncomfortable or painful.
▶ During use the appliance has a hot surface. Individuals who are insensitive to heat must take care when using the appliance.
▶ Do not use the appliance on swollen, burnt, inflamed, diseased or injured regions of the skin and body areas. If in doubt, obtain medical advice before using the appliance.
▶ Ensure that your fingers or other body parts do not come between the rotating massage heads. Risk of crush injuries!
The appliance may not be used in the face (e.g. eyes), on the throat, feet or other sensitive body parts.
▶ During use do not cover the appliance (with a pillow, blanket, etc.). NEVER use the appliance in the vicinity of petrol or other infl ammable materials.
WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE!
▶ Use the appliance only indoors.
▶ Operate the appliance only with the supplied power adapter.
What is Shiatsu massage?
Shiatsu (shi = fi nger, atsu = pressure) is a form of massage developed in Japan, which itself emerged from traditional Chinese medicine. Shiatsu massage consists of a relaxing and powerful massage with fi ngers, thumbs or palms. This massager mimics the movements of shiatsu massage with the help of rotating massage heads ①.
Operation
Fitting
1) Place the appliance around your neck so that the massage heads ① lie on the sides of the neck. You can use the hand loops ③ to align it.
2) Secure the appliance in that the hook and loop fasteners ② lie one above the other.
Connection
1) Connect the connection plug ⑩ on the mains adapter ⑨ with the socket ④ on the appliance.
2) Connect the mains adapter ⑨ into a mains power socket.
Inuse
Preferably, lie back for the massage and relax. Provide for a relaxing atmosphere. For example, dim the lights a little.
NOTICE
▶ Ensure that you experience the massage as comfortable and relaxing. If needs be, vary the pressure and/or your position. Stop the massage immediately if it is painful or uncomfortable.
INFORMATION
▶ Never use the appliance for more than 15 minutes. A longer massage may lead to tension caused by overstimulation of the muscles.
You can select between 3 massage functions:
- Shiatsu massage with the massage heads ① (fast and slow)
-Vibration massage
- Warmth (the massage heads ① glow and warm themselves)
You can combine various massage functions with each other or use them individually:
■ Press the "On / Off" button ⏻ ⑤. The massage heads ① begin with the slow massage.
■ Press the button "Massage" ⑥ to increase the massage speed. Press the button Massage ⑦ once again to stop the massage heads ①.
■ Press the button "Warmth" ⑦ to switch the warmth on. Press the button "Warmth" ⑦ once again to switch the warmth function off.
■ Press the button "Vibration" ⑧ to switch the vibration on. Press the button "Vibration" ⑧ once again to switch the function "Vibration" off.
NOTICE
The appliance switches off automatically after 15 minutes.
If you want to terminate the massage before the end of 15 minutes and wish to switch the appliance off, press the "On/Off" button.
After the massage
1) Disconnect the connection plug ⑩ from the socket ④.
2) Undo the hook and loop fastening ② and remove the appliance.
3) Disconnect the mains adapter ⑨ from the mains power socket.
Cleaning

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
Before you clean the appliance, always disconnect the mains adapter ⑨ from the mains power socket.
▶ UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you immerse the appliance in water or other liquids during cleaning!
WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE!
▶ Do not use any aggressive cleaning liquids or solvents. They could damage the surface.
NOTICE
The zipper on the appliance must not be opened, because it is fitted only for production-technical reasons.
1) Wipe the appliance with a damp cloth. If necessary, add a little mild detergent onto the cloth.
2) Wipe the mains adapter ⑨ off with a damp cloth.
3) Let all parts dry thoroughly before re-use.
Storage
■ Clean the appliance as described in the chapter "Cleaning".
■ Store the appliance at a clean and dry location.

Disposal of the appliance

Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2002/96/EC.
Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Pay heed to the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.
Notes on the Declaration of Conformity
With regard to conformity with essential requirements and other relevant provisions, this appliance complies with the guidelines of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2004/108/EC as well as the Directive for Low Voltage appliances 2006/95/EC.

Warranty
You receive a 3-year warranty for this appliance as of the purchase date. This appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before delivery.
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a warranty claim, please make contact by telephone with our Service department. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.
NOTICE
The warranty is valid only for material or manufacturing faults, not for transport damage, parts subject to wear or damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches.
This product is for domestic use only and is not intended for commercial use. The warranty becomes void in the event of abusive and improper handling, use of force and modifications not carried out by our authorised Service Centre.
Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty.
The warranty period is not extended by repairs eff ected under warranty.
This applies also to replaced and repaired parts.
Damages or defects discovered after purchase are to be reported directly after unpacking, at the latest two days after the purchase date.
Repairs carried out after lapse of the warranty period are subject to charge.
