Frequently Asked Questions - 920-538 Marquant

How do I connect the turntable to my computer for recording?
Use a USB cable (sold separately) to connect the USB port on the back of the turntable to a USB port on your computer. Install recording software like Audacity (provided on CD) and set the input device to USB Audio Controller in the software preferences.
Why doesn't the turntable stop automatically at the end of the record?
Some records may not trigger the auto-stop mechanism. Set the Auto Stop selector to the OFF position to disable automatic stopping. Then you must manually lift the tonearm and return it to the rest.
Can I use external speakers with this turntable?
Yes. Connect external speakers or an audio system using an RCA cable to the Line Out (L/R) jacks on the back. Set the built-in speaker switch to OFF to avoid interference.
How do I play a 45 RPM record?
Place the included 45 RPM adapter onto the center spindle before placing the record. Then set the speed selector to 45 RPM.
What should I do if the turntable stops working?
First, unplug the power cord and check for blown fuses. If the fuse needs replacement, contact a qualified technician. Do not attempt to repair the device yourself as it may void the warranty.
How do I clean the turntable?
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior. Do not use water or liquids. The dust cover can be cleaned with a mild soap solution if necessary.
Can I listen to the record via headphones?
Yes. Connect headphones to the 3.5 mm earphone jack on the front panel. The built-in speakers will be muted when headphones are plugged in.
How do I install Audacity recording software?
Insert the supplied CD into your computer and follow the installation instructions. Alternatively, download Audacity from the official website. Additional setup details are in the manual.
What is the function of the built-in speaker switch?
The switch on the back panel turns the built-in speakers on or off. Set it to OFF when using headphones, external speakers, or recording to a computer.
How do I save recordings as MP3 files?
First install the Lame MP3 Encoder from the CD (Plug-ins folder). In Audacity, after recording, go to File > Export and choose MP3 format. You will be prompted to locate the Lame encoder the first time.
