How to resolve line error?

If LINE ERROR appears, check that the telephone cord does not exceed 2 meters, that no modem is connected on the same line, and that the recipient's fax machine is working. If the problem persists, try on another telephone line.

Why is there no dial tone when I pick up the handset?

Check that the handset cord is correctly plugged into the jack marked with a handset symbol on the side of the machine. See the Handset connection section.

How to clear a paper jam?

Open the cover of the printing compartment, remove the toner cartridge and then the drum cartridge. Gently pull the jammed paper out of the machine. If necessary, turn the fuser unit roller. Reinstall the cartridges and close.

When and how to replace the toner cartridge?

Replace the toner cartridge (model FO-29DC) when the TONER LOW indicator lights up or the display shows REPLACE TONER. Open the cover, remove the old cartridge, shake the new one 4-5 times to distribute the toner, insert it and push the handle until it clicks. Reset the counter.

How to register my name and fax number?

Press FUNCTION, then 3. Use the # or + keys to select IDENTIFIER, then press START. Enter your fax number (max 20 digits), press START, then enter your name (max 24 characters) using the numeric keypad as shown in the letter table. Press START to confirm.

How to set the date and time?

Press FUNCTION, then use the # or + keys to select SET DATE+TIME and press START. Enter the day (01-31), month (01-12), year (4 digits), hour (00-23) and minutes (00-59). Press START to start the clock.

How to use speed dial to send a fax?

Load the document face down, adjust resolution if necessary. Press SPEED DIAL, then enter the 2-digit speed dial number (e.g., 01 for number 1) using the numeric keypad. Check the displayed name, then press START to start transmission.

Which reception mode to choose for mixed use (fax and voice calls)?

Use TEL/FAX mode. It automatically answers after 2 rings, detects if it's a fax (automatic reception) or a voice call (pseudo-ring to alert you). If you do not answer, the fax will take the line for manual transmission.

How to connect an answering machine to the fax?

Use the provided splitter cord. Plug one end into the TEL. LINE jack of the fax and the other into the wall telephone jack, then connect your answering machine to the female jack of the cord. Set the fax answer mode to ANS. and modify the greeting message to invite the caller to press the Start key to send a fax.

What to do if the fax stops responding to keys?

Open the cover of the printing compartment (be careful of the fuser unit) and use a pen to press the RESET button. This clears documents in memory and resets the machine. Close the cover.
