Safety Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance and save them for future reference. Please keep the sales receipt for guarantee purposes (pls see below “Guarantee and Customer Service”)

Any use which does not conform to the instructions will absolve IZZY from any liability.

- Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, check that the voltage indicated on the data plate at the bottom of the appliance corresponds to that of the voltage mains in your house. If this is not the case, contact an authorized BENRUBI Service Center and do not use the appliance.

- Always connect your appliance by means of an earthed plug. Non-compliance with this obligation can cause an electric shock and may lead to serious injury. It is vital for your own safety that the earthed socket corresponds to the electrical installation standards in force in your country. If your household electrical system does not include an earthed socket, it is vital that you call in an authorized technician before plugging in the appliance, in order to bring your electrical system up to standard.

- Children often underestimate the risks involved in handling electronic appliances. Therefore, never allow children to use this appliance unsupervised.

- Make sure that children do not use this appliance as a toy.

Attention: To avoid the danger of suffocation, keep the packaging material away from children.

- Ensure that the appliance or packing materials (plastic wrapping etc) are not within the reach of unattended children or handicapped persons.

- Check the condition of the power supply cable regularly. Do not use the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged; if the appliance does not work properly; after it has been dropped or damaged in any way. In such cases, do not open the appliance and do not attempt to repair it yourself and contact an authorized BENRUBI Service Center for examination, repair or replacement.

- This appliance must only be used for household purposes according to the operating instructions.

- Do not place the appliance on top or near any source of heat (hot gas, or electric burner or heated oven) or on top or near surfaces where it can get wet.

- Before connecting the appliance to the mains, completely unwind the power supply cable and check that it is in perfect condition.

- Do not use the appliance close to any source of heat or hot surfaces.

- Do not allow the power cable hanging over the edge of the table or counter or touching hot surfaces.

- In the event that the power cable is damaged in any way do not use the appliance and contact an authorized BENRUBI Service Center.

• Always unplug the appliance when not in use and before cleaning.

- No liability is accepted for any damage resulting from use for other purposes than those indicated in the instructions for use, faulty operation and repairs made from unauthorized technicians. Guarantee services are excluded in such cases.

- Do not use the appliance outdoors.

• Always store the appliance in a dry place.

- Do not use accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They could constitute danger to the user and risk damaging the appliance.

- Do not move the appliance by pulling the power supply cable. Ensure that the cable is not stuck in any way. Do not wind the cable around the appliance and do not twist it.

- Do not unplug the appliance by pulling the power supply cable or by pulling the appliance. Always pull the plug, not the cord.

- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the motor of the appliance in water or any other liquid. The motor base must not be held under running water.

- Never use the appliance close to wet places (in a bath, shower or a washbasin full of water). In the event of the appliance falling into water or any other liquid:

- This kind of appliance should not function continuously for more than five minutes since it is not intended for professional use. The appliance

is designed to process average domestic quantities of food. It can be operated without interruption for a maximum of 5 minutes, and then it should be allowed to cool down for approximately five minutes.

  • Do not apply too much pressure to the cone while juicing; the motor may seize.
  • Your citrus juicer is equipped with suction feet. The suction feet will adhere to any smooth surface. For them to adhere well, the surface must be flat and also free of dust or grease. The suction feet cannot adhere to a textured surface. Slightly moisten the suction feet before you press them onto the surface.
  • Do not fix the suction feet to sensitive areas. Some paints or synthetic coatings may react adversely with the material of the suction feet and soften them. This could cause them to leave marks.
  • Never use abrasive or caustic cleaning products, as these might damage the surfaces.
  • Always remove the mains plug from the wall socket outlet:

  • If a disturbance occurs.

  • After use.
  • If the citrus juicer is out of use for a prolonged period of time.
  • Before cleaning the citrus juicer.
  • Before removing and inserting the pressing cones.

  • Any false connection cancels the guarantee. Do not make any modifications to the appliance or its connection cord. Repairs must only be carried out by an authorized Benrubi Service Center. Improper repair may result in a considerable risk of injury to the user.

  • Any repairs made by a non-authorized BENRUBI Service Centre CANCEL THE GUARANTEE.
  • The appliance conforms to EU directive 2014/30/EU on Electromagnetic Compatibility, the 2014/35/EU Low Voltage Directive, the 2011/65/EU RoHS Directive, the directive 2009/125/EC for eco-design and the EC regulation no. 1935/2004 on materials intended to contact with food.

Before the First Use

  • Unpack the citrus juicer and remove all the packaging materials.
    Attention: To avoid the danger of suffocation, keep the packaging material away from children.
  • Examine the juicer for visible damage and check that all of the parts are included in the packaging.
  • Before using the juicer for the first time, rinse the cones, strainer, juice container and

transparent dust lid with warm water and a few drops of washing up liquid. Then rinse well.

Attention: To avoid the danger of electric shock, do not immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid and do not hold it under running water.

- Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth.

Use of the Appliance

Place the appliance on a stable and even surface which is easily cleaned.

  • Unwind the power cord to the length you require from the cord storage compartment underneath the juicer. Make sure that the cord is correctly positioned in the cord guide to prevent the juicer form wobbling.
  • Depending on the size of the fruit you are juicing, you can use the large or the small cone:
  • Large juicing cone: It is suitable for juicing large fruits, such as grapefruit, oranges etc.
  • Small juicing cone: It is suitable for juicing small citrus fruits, such as lemons, limes etc.
  • Insert the juice container along the drive shaft until it reaches the base. Make sure that it is securely fit to place.
  • Attach the strainer to the removable juice container. Fit the small cone directly onto the drive shaft (Figure 1).

- In case you want to use the large cone, fit the small cone onto the drive shaft first. Then fit the large cone over the top of the small cone (Figure 2).

  • The notches of the large cone should clip into place over the stirring wings on the small cone.
  • To separate the cones, pull the large cone up and off.
  • Connect the mains plug to a 220-240V\~50HZ socket outlet.
  • Cut the fruit in two.

- Press slightly the cut end of the half fruit on the small or the large cone, depending on the size of the fruit.

Caution: If you apply too much pressure on the juicing cone, the motor may seize.

The juicer switches on automatically when you press the fruit down and the cone starts to run.

  • The juice flows into the juice container after passing through the strainer.
  • For best results, adjust the hold of the fruit to ensure that all parts of the flesh are squeezed. To maximize the quantity of juice extracted from a fruit, press a fruit half onto the cone several times.
  • Do not put excessive pressure on the juice cone: If the motor starts making too much noise or the speed of the motor decreases significantly, there is too much pressure being exerted on the cone.
  • The motor stops automatically when the fruit is removed from the cone or when it ceases to be pressed.
  • The juice container has a sealable spout.
  • If you wish to collect the juice in the container, press the spout upwards to close it.
  • If you want the juice to run straight into a glass, press the spout downwards to open it and place a glass under it so that the juice runs into it.

ATTENTION : Never operate the appliance continuously for more than five minutes as this would damage the motor.

After Use

  • Unplug the appliance by pulling the plug from the supply mains.
  • Remove the cone, the strainer, the juice container and the drive shaft from the appliance and clean them.

Juicing Advice

  • Citrus fruit juices should be consumed immediately and never stored in a metal container.
  • Citrus juices are ideal for mixing. For example, you can mix orange juice with lemon juice for an extra vitamin C kick.
  • Freshly squeezed juice gives cocktails a particularly tangy twist and better flavor.
  • Lemon juice is also delicious in hot tea and additionally helps you build up your defenses when you have a cold.

Care and Cleaning

- Before performing any cleaning operation, it is absolutely necessary to unplug the appliance from the mains.

Caution: To avoid the danger of electric shock, do not immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid and do not hold it under running water.

• After each use, disassemble the various parts of the appliance and place the removable parts in warm soapy water for cleaning. Rinse thoroughly.
- The juicing cones, strainer and juice container are suitable for use in the dish washer.
• After each use, wash the spout with warm soapy water and rinse well.

  • Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth.
  • It is recommended to rinse all the removable parts immediately after use since the dried pulp becomes difficult to remove and may stain. Dry the parts after cleaning.
  • Never use abrasive or corrosive products or hard brushes as this could scratch and damage the appliance.
  • Before storing the appliance, ensure that it is clean and dry and that there are no food residues present. It is absolutely necessary to keep this appliance clean at all times as it comes into contact with food.
  • Store the cable in the compartment beneath the motor base.

Faults/Solutions

  • Qu.: The motor does not start.
    Ans.: The power cord is not properly connected to the supply mains.
  • Qu.: The motor stops running while juicing.
    Ans.: You are pressing the cone too hard.
  • Qu.: Although the spout is closed, the juice still drips out.
    Ans.: There are bits of pulp left in the spout.
