Purpose

Multifunctional trimmer is intended solely to cut human hair. Use the device on dry hair only.

The device is intended for home use and must not be used for commercial purposes.

The device may only be used indoors.

Do not use this device to cut artificial hair or animal fur.

Instructions for safe operation

- Use only the supplied original power supply to connect to the electric outlet. This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and older and people with physical or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they are supervised or have been instructed to use the product in a safe manner and understand the potential dangers. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance operations performed by the user shall not be carried out by children, if they are not older than 8 years and under supervision. Children under the age of 8 must be kept away from the appliance and its power supply.

DANGER! When handling the Ni-MH batteries, observe the following guidelines.

- Charge the device only using the original power supply.

  • Protect the battery from mechanical damage.
  • Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or high temperatures. If the device is heated to more than 125°C, the cells may ignite.

- Do not leave the device near a fire source, as it may cause ignition. Common extinguishers can be used to extinguish fire (powder extinguishers with ABC powder, extinguishers with CO_2 ).

- If liquids leak from the batteries, avoid contact with eyes, mucuous membranes and skin as well as inhalation of vapours. Immediately rinse the affected area with plenty of clean water. In any case, contact your physician.

- Leaked liquids must be absorbed by the absorbent and properly disposed of.

- Open batteries are hazardous waste and must therefore be properly disposed of.

The blades of the exchangeable cutting heads of hair, beard precise trimmer are very sharp. Handle them carefully.

  • Do not use the device with a damaged head or attachment.
  • Make sure to turn off the device before inserting or replacing the head and always before cleaning.

Do not insert the attachment for trimming the nose/ear hair too deep into the nostril or ears.

- Do not use the device in open wounds, cutting wounds, sunburns and blisters.

Keep the little container with oil out reach of children.

- Avoid contact of the trimmer oil with eyes. If the trimmer oil gets into your eyes, rinse them out immediately with plenty of water and remove the oil completely.

  • Never place the device on hot surfaces (e.g hot plates) or near sources of heat or naked flames.
  • Do not cover the power source to prevent overheating.
  • To prevent damage to the razor blade, do not apply excessive pressure to the blade.
  • Do not remove the razor blade from the frame.
  • Do not use coarse or abrasive cleaners.

NOTICE: Property damage

Remember that the battery capacity is lower after long periods of storage. Therefore long charging times due to interruption between charging and discharge cycles should be avoided.

WARNING: Use only the PTA-030100EU adapter supplied with the trimmer for charging.

NOTES

  1. Connect the charging adapter to the body of the device.
  2. Connect the power adapter to an easily accessible electric outlet.
  3. Place the device in the charging stand to connect the charging contacts.
    After connecting the adapter to the power supply, the red LED on the trimmer body is constantly on.
    To extend battery life, we recommend the following charging times:
    First charging – charging time about 16 hours
    Each following charging – charging time about 8 hours
    1× in six months – we recommend to extend the charging time to about 16 hours
    Warning: The red LED is lit continuously even after full charge.

  4. The operating time with a fully charged battery is about 50 minutes.

Note: You can connect the adapter directly to the body of the device.

OPERATION

NOTES

  • Cut beard must be dry.
  • The length of the cut depends on the cutting angle.
  • First, start with a comb extension set to the longest cut and then in the process use gradually shorter cut lengths.

Regardless of the charge status of the battery you can use the trimmer with the power adapter.

  1. To use the power adapter, make sure that the device is switched off.
  2. Connect the adapter to the trimmer and to an easily accessible power outlet.
  3. Turn the device on by moving the switch to position 1.

Attaching/removing the replaceable heads with extensions

Turn the replaceable head counter-clockwise to release it and remove it. When you attach the head, move it clockwise until it clicks in the body of the trimmer.

WARNING!

Before attaching or removing the replaceable heads, switch off the device by sliding the switch to position 0.

Attaching/removing the comb extensions

When attaching comb extensions, slide the comb into the head so that its edges fit into the grooves at the edges of the head. When removing the extensions proceed in reverse.

Trimming

For trimming, select the head with the comb extension as shown.

Adjust the length of the cut on the extension by moving the combs forward or backward. The numbers on the extension correspond to the following length of cut:

  • Nr. 1:2 mm
  • Nr. 2: 4 mm
  • Nr. 3: 7 mm
  • Nr. 4: 10 mm

  • Comb the beard well.

  • Hold the device so that the level surface of the comb extension is in contact with the skin. Move the device through your beard evenly.

  • If it is possible, cut against the growth of the beard.
  • To get all facial hair, move the device through the same part of your beard several times.
  • Use the device without the comb extension for a very short cut. To achieve a very smooth cut, move the blades by sliding the switch and the cut height is shortest in position 3.
  • Comb through your beard repeatedly and thoroughly.

Shaping the beard

Select the head with pictured extension for shaping the beard. The extension allows you to adjust the length of the cut in 3 levels. Numbers 2, 4 and 6 moulded in the trimmer head correspond to the length of the cut in mm.

Moving the comb ext4ension changes the length of

the cut. Actual setting is visible in the window that is in the middle of the extension.

  1. Comb the beard in the direction of the growth.
  2. Begin by cutting your beard at your ear and move down to your chin on one side, then do the same on the other side.
  3. If you want to trim a beard or moustache for a very short length or when trimming the contours, use the beard trimmer head without a comb extension. The beard trimmer blade is directed at the beard at the correct angle.
  4. Hold the comb extension with the rounded side by the beard and cut from the bottom upwards against the direction of the beard growth.
  5. When cutting your moustache, first comb your moustache straight down. Then use either a beard trimmer extension or a precision

trimming attachment. Start in the middle above the mouth, trim one side then the other.

Head for detailed cut

  1. Using the extension trim the shape of the moustache, contours on the cheeks, sideburns and eyebrows.
  2. Place the blade of the extension to the desired hairline height and move the device down.

Shaving extension

Note: The skin must be clean and dry.

  1. Hold the device at the correct angle to the surface of the skin and carefully move it over your face.
  2. Shave against the growth of your beard.

  3. At the places of the face that are more difficult to shave like a chin, stretch your skin to get better results.

Comb attachments

- Remove the comb extension. Rinse the comb extension with water and allow it to dry before reuse.

Replaceable heads

  1. Detach the head from the device
  2. To remove the beard or hair clippings from the extension use the supplied brush.
  3. Apply a few drops of oil to the blade edge. Use a soft cloth to wipe any excess oil. Only use acid-free oil, such as sewing machine oil.

Do not remove the razor blade from the frame.

  1. Remove the head with the razor blade from the body of the machine.
  2. Press the side buttons on the shaving head and remove the shaving razor frame. Hold the razor blade frame on the sides and do not press on the razor blade.
  3. Clean the blade with the supplied cleaning brush.
  4. Rinse the razor blade in the shaving frame under running water and allow it to dry completely before reinserting it into the shaving extension.
  5. Reattach the razor blade frame to the shaving attachment. When reattaching the razor blade frame, make sure that the fixing tabs fit into the corresponding recesses of the shaving extension, and push it gently until it snaps into place.

Note: Apply several drops of acid-free oil (e.g. sewing machine oils) from time to time. Attach the shaving extension to the device and turn it on for several seconds without using it. Use a soft cloth to wipe any excess oil.
