This is normal for all warming devices that disappear after several uses.
ATTENTION! To prevent electric shock, never cook without removable inner pot!
Before first use
- Carefully unpack slow cooker and clean it.
- The inner cooking pot and the glass lid can be cleaned in the dishwasher, but it is recommended to wash these parts manually.
- Make sure the inside of the slow cooker is not dirty and remove any dirt.
First use
- Place the cooking ingredients in the inner pot and cover it with a glass lid. Leave sufficient space under the lid when cooking soup or vegetables.
- Connect the slow cooker to the 230 V socket.
- Select one of the „High - High temperature (4-5 hours cooking)“, „Low Temperature (8-10 hours cooking)“ or „Warm - Keep warm“ mode (before serving food, do not use to heat food).
- When cooking is complete, turn the switch to the „Off“ position.
Warning: The inner cooking pot is safe to use in the oven (without the glass lid). The maximum oven temperature set point must not exceed 180^ C.
- When cooking vegetables and meat, put vegetables, then meat and other ingredients in the inner pot first.
- When cooking in „High - High temperature“ mode, observe the cooking progress, as some soups may start to foam. Remember that raising the lid frequently will increase cooking time.
• Always add warm liquid before cooking frozen food. - After cooking, carefully lift the glass lid slightly. This will allow the steam to escape before removing the inner cooking pot from the body of the slow cooker (base).
- Remove the inner pot, unplug the power cord and let the slow pot cool down.
- After cooling down, clean the slow cooker, see „Cleaning Instructions“.
CAUTION: During cooking, the body of the slow cooker (base) will be very warm. Wear gloves when handling a slow cooker.
Tips for slow cooking
- Due to the nature of slow cooking, the meat does not turn brown as if cooked in a pan or oven. It is not necessary to fry meat or poultry before slow cooking, but you can do it if you like it more.
- Roasting minced beef, bacon and sausage before slow cooking may be desirable if you want to remove excess fat from the meat. The meat should be placed in the inner pot so that it does not touch the glass lid.
- Lean meat such as chicken or pork tenderloin cooks faster than fibrous and fatty meat such as beef or pork hanger. Cooking meat with bone will increase cooking time over meat without bone.
- Avoid opening a slow cooker during cooking, as this will cause considerable heat and steam losses. If you still need to open the pot, do it as quickly as possible.
- Cut the meat into smaller pieces when cooked together with pre-cooked foods such as beans, fruits or vegetables (mushrooms, diced onion, eggplant or finely chopped vegetables).
• Meat and vegetables retain more juice during slow cooking than traditional cooking. - Some foods such as carrots, potatoes and beets require longer cooking than meat, so cut them into smaller pieces before adding them to the meat. Make sure you place them on the underside of the inner pot and cover with liquid.
• To achieve the fullest taste in slow cooking, add crushed herbs and spices. - Beans must completely soften before they can be combined with sweet or sour foods.
- When cooking in a slow cooker, remember that liquids are not produced in the same way as conventional cooking. Reduce the amount of liquid in the recipe that is not designed for a slow cooker. Soups and rice are an exception to this rule.
- Remember that fluids can be added at any time.
- Most recipes that require uncooked meat and vegetables require approximately 6 to 8 hours cooking at „Low - Low Temperature“.
- Add fresh dairy products (milk, sour cream or yoghurt) just before serving on the table.
- It is not recommended to cook rice, noodles and pasta for a long time. Cook them separately and add them to a slow cooker for the last 30 minutes.
Cleaning instructions
After each use:
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, then from the slow cooker and allow it to cool completely.
- Wash the glass lid and inner pot in warm, soapy water.
- If food sticks to the inner pot, soak it in warm water.
- Clean the inside and outside of the base unit with a soft, slightly damp cloth or sponge.
- Never use abrasive cleaners.
- Store the slow cooker in a dry place when not in use.
