How do I switch the cooler between cooling and heating?

Can I use the cooler with both AC and DC at the same time?

No, connect only one power source at a time. The refrigerator can be connected to either a 12V DC socket (cigarette lighter) or a 220-240V AC mains supply, but not both simultaneously.

What is the ECO mode and how do I activate it?

ECO mode is an energy-saving setting available when operating on AC power. Set the mode switch to ECO to reduce cooling capacity and consume less energy. For maximum cooling, use MAX mode.

Why is my cooler not working when plugged into the cigarette lighter?

First, ensure the ignition is on (most vehicles require this). If it still doesn't work, check that the DC plug is clean and properly seated. A blown fuse in the plug or vehicle may be the cause; replace with a fuse of the same rating (usually 15A for the vehicle).

How should I clean the cooler?

2.1. GENERAL SAFETY

If the cooler is connected to the DC socket: Disconnect the cooler or switch it off when you turn off the engine. Otherwise you may discharge the battery.

Place the appliance in a dry and well-ventilated area. The appliance is intended for operation within the ambient temperature range specified below, depending on the climate class shown on the nameplate. The appliance may malfunction if kept outside the specified ambient temperature range for a long time.

3. INTENDED USE

The cooling device is suitable for cooling foodstuffs.

The cooling device is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

▶ staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments
farm houses
▶ clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments
bed and breakfast type environments
▶ catering and similar non-retail applications

The device is also able to heat using the additional heating feature.

The device is designed for use with:

- a DC vehicle electrics socket of a car (such as a cigarette lighter), boat or caravan (see voltage specification on the type plate)

▶ a 220-240 V AC mains supply.

The appliance may also be used for camping use.

The appliance must not to be exposed to rain.

The cooler is portable. It can cool items and keep them cool or heat items and keep them warm to max. 60 °C.

NOTICE! Risk of damage

• Ensure that all objects placed in the cooler are suitable for cooling or heating (with the additional heating feature) to the selected temperature.
• Ensure that food or liquids in glass containers are not excessively refrigerated. Drinks or liquid foods expand when they freeze and can therefore destroy the glass containers.
• Ensure that your cooler is well ventilated so that any heat created can dissipate. Otherwise proper functioning cannot be ensured. It is especially important not to cover the air vents and fan.

NOTE

Before starting your new cooling device for the first time, you should clean it inside and outside with a damp cloth for hygienic reasons (please also refer to the chapter "Cleaning and maintenance" on page 19).
A few water drops may form inside the cooler if it has been cooling for a lengthy period. This is normal because the moisture in the air condenses to water when the temperature in the cooler falls. The cooler is not defective. Wipe it out with a dry cloth if necessary.

NOTE For coolers with fold in handles

If the handle is folded back or if the cooler is being carried, the lid is locked. You can only open the lid when the handle is folded forwards.

5.1. ENERGY SAVING TIPS

Choose a well ventilated installation location which is protected against direct sunlight.
If you want to set an increased energy efficiency and a limited cooling capacity for the cooler unit, use the cooler's ECO (for AC 230V supply) mode.
- Allow warm food to cool down first before placing it in the device to keep cool.
Do not open the cooling device more often than necessary.
Do not leave the cooler unit open for longer than necessary.
Remove individual drinks bottles through the bottle hatch, if present.

5.2. USING THE COOLER IN DC MODE

▶ Place the cooler on a firm base.
Connect the DC cable to the cigarette lighter or the DC socket in the vehicle.

▶ Push the switch on the control panel to HOT or COLD to switch the cooler on.

√ The indicators on the control panel show you the operating mode:

▶ To switch off the cooler,
- push the switch on the control panel from HOT or COLD to the OFF position,
- disconnect the plug.

5.3. USING THE COOLER IN AC MODE

▶ Place the cooler on a firm base.
Connect the 220-240 V connection cable to the AC mains.

▶ Push the switch on the control panel to HOT or COLD to switch the cooler on.
When the cooler is connected to a 220-240 V AC mains supply, it can be used in two different operating modes:
ECO mode (for AC 230V supply): the cooler consumes less energy
MAX mode: the cooler reaches maximum cooling capacity
√ The indicators on the control panel show you the operating mode:

To switch off the cooler, push the switch on the control panel from HOT or COLD to the OFF position.

ATTENTION! Do not switch directly from one operating mode into the other. If you would like to change the operating mode, turn the appliance off. Wait about 30 minutes before you switch it to the other operating mode.

5.4. CONNECTING TO THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER

NOTE

If you connect the cooler to the cigarette lighter, remember that in most vehicles the ignition must be turned on to supply it with power.

ATTENTION! Do not connect both power cords at the same time - the refrigerator can be connected only to one power source.

6. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING!

Always disconnect the device from the mains before you clean and service it.

NOTICE! Risk of damage

▶ Never clean the cooler under running water or in dish water.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or hard objects during cleaning as these can damage the cooler.

▶ Occasionally clean the device interior and exterior with a damp cloth.
Make sure that the air inlet and outlet vents on the device are free of any dust and dirt, so that heat can be released and the device is not damaged.

7. TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible cause Suggested remedy

Your device is not working(plug is inserted).	There is no voltage flowing from the DC socket (cigarette lighter) in your vehicle.	The ignition must be switched on in most vehicles to supply current to the cigarette lighter.
	No voltage present in the AC voltage socket.	Try using another plug socket.
	The inner fan or the cooling element is defective.	This can only be repaired by an authorised repair centre.
When operating from the DC socket (cigarette lighter):The ignition is on and the cooler is not working.	The fitting of the DC plug is dirty.This results in a poor electrical contact.	If the plug of your cooler becomes very warm in the DC socket fitting, either the fitting must be cleaned or the plug has not been assembled correctly.
	The fuse of the DC plug has blown. Replace the fuse of the DC plug with one of the same rating.
	The vehicle fuse has blown. Replace the vehicle's DC socket fuse (usually 15 A). Please refer to the operating manual of your vehicle.

9. PROPER DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT (waste electrical and electronic equipment)
