Frequently Asked Questions - MATMÄSSIG IKEA

How do I activate the child safety device on my IKEA MATMÄSSIG hob?
To activate the Child Safety Device, turn on the hob, do not set any power levels, then touch the lock symbol for 4 seconds until the symbol appears. Deactivate by repeating the process. It prevents accidental operation.
What should I do if the hob shows an error code E6?
Error code E6 indicates that the second phase of the power supply is missing. Check the electrical connection. If the problem persists, disconnect the appliance from the mains and contact an authorized installer.
Can I use a steam cleaner to clean the hob?
No, do not use a steam cleaner or high-pressure cleaners. Clean the hob with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn residues, use a scraper (not included) at an angle.
How do I set the timer for a cooking zone?
Touch the timer symbol repeatedly until the indicator for the desired cooking zone flashes. Then use the + and - buttons to set the time (0-99 minutes). Once the time runs out, the zone turns off and an acoustic signal sounds.
What is the STOP+GO function and how do I use it?
The STOP+GO function sets all active cooking zones to the lowest power setting. Touch the STOP+GO symbol to activate. To deactivate, touch it again. The timer continues during this function.
Why does my hob make humming noises during operation?
A brief humming noise is normal for ceramic glass hobs. It is caused by the heating elements and does not affect performance or lifespan.
How do I connect the hob to the electrical supply?
The hob requires a professional installation. For single-phase use a 3x4 mm² cable; for two-phase use a 4x2.5 mm² cable. Follow the connection diagram on the product. Always use an isolating device with a contact opening of at least 3 mm.
What is the warranty period for the IKEA MATMÄSSIG hob?
The appliance comes with a 5-year IKEA guarantee from the date of purchase. The original receipt is required. It covers faults caused by faulty construction or materials under domestic use.
How do I deactivate the sound signals?
To deactivate sounds, turn off the hob. Touch the power symbol for 3 seconds, then touch the lock symbol for 3 seconds. Use the timer + or - to select 'off' (sound off) or 'on' (sound on). Wait for automatic shutdown to confirm.
What cookware is suitable for this hob?
Use cookware with a flat, smooth bottom that matches the cooking zone diameter. Avoid cast iron or aluminum with damaged bottoms as they can scratch the glass. Always lift pans instead of sliding them.
