The pen caps meet the tested safety standard requirements of BS 7272-1 and BS 7272-2 for writing and marking instruments designed for use by children under 14 years to minimise the danger associated with accidental inhalation of the pen cap.

Hair

The hair of the BABY born Styling Head can be brushed and styled with hair clips and hair ties. Use the enclosed hairband keep the hair away from the face when styling the head with the felt-tip pens.

The hair of the BABY born Styling Head is made from high-quality nylon fibres and must therefore be kept away from sources of heat, e.g., hot water, hot air from a hair dryer, or curling tongs. Please do not dye or colour the product's hair. Do not apply hair lacquer, hair spray, mousse or gel to the hair.

Cleaning the hair

The BABY born Styling Head has soft, high-quality hair that can be washed in lukewarm water (up to 30°C). Rinsing with standard fabric conditioners makes the hair easier to comb and prevents it from falling out. The wet hair can be left to air dry.

WARNING! To wash the hair, stand the head upright and rinse from above (do not wash upside down). Do not massage the hair, as this destroys the root interlocking in the parting, and the hair will no longer be evenly spread across the head. Please also follow these instructions when drying the hair. The best way to remove the water is to gently squeeze the hair from top to bottom and then leave it to air dry. The hair can also be patted dry in addition using a towel.

Tips: Divide the hair into strands and, starting at the bottom, gradually comb/brush through until the roots are reached. This prevents knotting and matting.

BABY born Styling Head Artist

The felt-tip pens can be used to decorate both the head and the bust with colourful designs. It is not recommended to colour the hair.

WARNING!

We advise against leaving drawn-on decorations for longer periods of time to prevent permanent discolouring of the head, torso and hair. The longer the ink remains on the product, the higher the chance/risk that the ink can no longer be completely removed!

It may no longer be possible to completely remove the ink after 12 hours at the latest!

It is also important to use a suitable underlay to ensure that the felt-tip pens are not used on other objects (such as the table, couch, clothing etc.). Parental supervision is strongly recommended. Zapf Creation does not provide any warranty for damages arising from the improper use of the pens.

The eye stencil can be used to add symmetrical decorations to the areas around the eyes.

The supplied pins can be inserted into the designated holes on the bust. They can be removed again by pulling firmly (parental assistance required).

Store the felt-tip pens safely after styling by attaching them to the base of the bust.

Cleaning the BABY born Styling Head Artist

We recommend removing the pins to make cleaning the head and the bust easier. Ink from the felt-tip pens is easiest to remove immediately after playing/decorating using lukewarm soapy water (up to 30°C) and a cloth, and should not be left on the toy overnight.

To clean, simply rub over the ink decorations until the ink is gone. The ink can also be removed using a commercially available wet wipe (oil and water-based) or using a cloth and a little warm water and oil. Ensure that the head is fully dry and free of any oily residues before decorating it again.

WARNING!

The felt-tip pens are NOT intended for use on children's skin! Allergic reactions cannot be ruled out. If the felt-tip pens have been used on the skin, the ink should be removed from the skin as soon as possible using lukewarm soapy water (30°C). Wet wipes can also be used for this.

If allergic reactions occur, please monitor them carefully and seek immediate medical advice if necessary. Please show the felt-tip pens and these operating instructions to the doctor.

Warnings

The provided felt-tip pens are solely intended for use on the Styling Head.

Do not use the felt-tip pens on human skin and avoid direct skin contact!

Do not put the felt-tip pens in your mouth!

Pens may stain clothing, untreated wood, paint and varnish, wallpaper, vinyl and other materials that are not washable.

To remove ink stains from textiles, follow the specific washing instructions for the textiles. Always remember that it is your duty to supervise your child's activities.

Instructions for prolonging the life of the felt-tip pens

To ensure that the ink remains in the tip, the felt-tip pens should always be stored horizontally or vertically with the tips facing downwards. Avoid applying pressure on the tip to avoid pushing it into the pen casing. After styling, make sure to always securely close the caps of the felt-tip pens to prevent the ink from drying out.
