Frequently Asked Questions - YT-818251 Yato

How to install the Yato YT-818251 floodlight?
Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Cut off the power supply before starting. Attach the mounting bracket to the wall using bolts or screws, then screw the floodlight onto the bracket. Adjust the lighting angle by tightening the bracket bolts.
What is the IP protection rating of this floodlight?
The YT-818251 model has an IP65 protection rating, which means it is completely dust-tight and protected against water jets from all directions.
How to adjust the motion sensor?
The sensor has three adjustments: SENS (sensitivity/range), TIME (lighting duration after detection), and LUX (day/night threshold). Turn the respective knobs clockwise to increase the value, counterclockwise to decrease it.
What is the ideal mounting height for the sensor?
The recommended mounting height is about 3 meters from the ground for optimal motion detection.
Can the LEDs be replaced if they burn out?
No, the LEDs are not replaceable. In case of lighting failure, the complete floodlight must be replaced.
How to clean the floodlight?
Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the housing and the lens. Never use high-pressure cleaners, abrasive products, solvents, or alcohol.
Why does my floodlight turn on during the day?
This may be due to the LUX knob setting: if the dial is turned towards the '+' symbol, the sensor will operate both day and night. Turn it towards the '-' symbol so that the floodlight only turns on at night.
What to do if the protective glass is damaged?
The tempered glass is not replaceable. If the glass is broken or damaged, the complete floodlight must be replaced immediately for safety reasons.
What is the power consumption of this floodlight?
The rated power is 50 W with a power factor of 0.9, corresponding to a consumption of approximately 55 VA.
Is it possible to connect multiple floodlights on the same circuit?
Yes, but the total power of the circuit must be respected and an appropriate circuit breaker used. The floodlight must be protected by a 30 mA residual current device (RCD) maximum.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

The spotlight is designed to illuminate small open spaces: building façades, monuments, advertisements, etc. The light source consists of white LEDs, which means low power consumption and low power loss due to heating of the spotlight. The spotlight housing is made of metal. The light source is protected by tempered glass with a gasket embedded in the frame. The lamp is mounted by means of a bracket which allows the luminaire to be set vertically at an appropriate angle.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

A qualifi ed electrician is required to install the spotlight.

Before starting the installation, switch off the power supply to the mains to which the spotlight is to be connected! Failure to do so may lead to electric shock, resulting in serious injury or even death.

The luminaire has a non-replaceable glass and in case of damage or breakage of the protective glass, the entire spotlight should be replaced immediately. The luminaire must not be used without the protective glass or with damaged protective glass!

The electrical wiring system powering the lamp should be efficient, periodically checked, with properly selected fuses and should provide protection against electric shock through quick shutdown.

Never use a lamp with visible mechanical damage, damage to the power cable insulation, broken spotlight glass, or other visible damage. Damaged power supply cable cannot be repaired and must be replaced in their entirety by a qualified specialist. All adjustment and mounting operations must be carried out with the lamp power supply disconnected.

Do not touch the spotlight housing, as it becomes hot during operation and may cause burns. To reduce the risk of strangulation, flexible wiring connected to this luminaire shall be effectively fixed to the wall if the wiring are within arm's reach.

SPOTLIGHT OPERATION

Spotlight without a motion sensor

Fix the spotlight to the wall or other fixed element with screws or bolts through the openings in the mounting bracket, so that the bracket is firmly and securely fastened to the surface. Make sure that the lamp is mounted according to the instructions in Figure (II).

By tightening the bracket screws you can set the lamp in one specific position.

Spotlight with a motion sensor

The installation should be carried out as for a spotlight without a motion sensor, but the motion sensor's operating principle shall be taken into account when selecting the installation location. The sensor is designed so that it works best when mounted at a height of approximately 3 metres from the ground. Avoid placing the sensor near trees or bushes which may cause the device to switch on in windy weather. Avoid directing or placing the device near heat sources, as this may cause its undesired operation. Avoid directing the sensor towards bright light, as the device will not operate at the minimum (minus sign) setting of the knob marked "LUX". Avoid mounting in locations with strong electromagnetic interference, as this may cause undesired switching on of the device. The sensor is the most sensitive to motion across the detection area, unlike motion towards or away from the sensor. Therefore, the sensor must be positioned so that the movement is transverse to the sensor axis.

Illuminating component installation and replacement

It is not possible to replace the illuminating component. In case of its damage the whole spotlight should be replaced with a new one.

Connecting the power supply

A qualifi ed electrician is required to connect the lamp power supply.

Before starting the installation, switch off the power supply to the mains to which the lamp is to be connected! Failure to do so may lead to electric shock, resulting in serious injury or even death.

It is recommended that the lamp power supply network be protected by a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current of no more than 30 mA.

The lamp is equipped with a short-length cable allowing to connect it to the power supply with the parameters given in the table and on the rating label.

Connect the lamp so that the degree of protection of the connection point is equal to or greater than the degree of protection of the lamp indicated in the table and on the rating label.

The wires of the cable should be connected in accordance with the insulation colour scheme (III).

Contact an authorised service centre if you need to replace the cable which is connected to the lamp.

Caution! Do not replace the cable which is connected to the lamp by yourself. The cable is connected in a box ensuring an adequate level of protection. If the box is unsealed, moisture may enter the box, which may cause damage to the lamp and/or mains power supply, and electrical shock, resulting in injury or death. The manufacturer does not take responsibility for damage resulting from the users replacing the cable connected to the lamp on their own.

Motion sensor adjustment

Sensitivity is the maximum distance from which a sensor can be switched on. Turning the "SENS" knob clockwise increases sensitivity while turning it counter-clockwise decreases sensitivity.

The length of time for which the device remains switched on after switching on can be adjusted within the range specified in the table. Turning the “TIME” knob counter-clockwise reduces the time period while turning the knob clockwise increases it. Turning the knob in the direction of the “+” symbol increases the time period while turning the knob in the direction of the “-” symbol decreases it.

Caution! When the light is switched on by the sensor, any subsequent motion detection will cause the time count to start anew.

The light level control module has a built-in sensor device (photocell) which detects light and darkness. It is possible to set the operation of the sensor by means of the knob marked "LUX". The "+" symbol indicates that the load will be switched on by the sensor both during the day and night. The "-" symbol indicates that the load will only be switched on at night.

CAUTION! It is normal for the load switching to be delayed in relation to the power-on time.

MAINTENANCE

Warning! Before starting maintenance, disconnect the lamp from the power supply. Clean the luminaire and the glass with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use pressure washers, cleaning agents containing abrasive or corrosive substances, solvents or alcohol for maintenance.
