How to use the immersion blender?

Place the immersion blender onto the motor unit by aligning the markings ▼ and , then lock. Immerse the blender foot into the food before starting. Use the power button or Turbo button. Release to stop and wait for complete motor stop before removing.

What are the maximum recommended operating times?

Blender: max 1 minute. Whisk: max 1 minute. Chopper (multi-chopper): max 15 seconds. After each cycle, let the motor cool down for at least 3 minutes.

How to clean the motor unit?

Unplug the appliance. Clean the motor unit with a slightly damp cloth. Never immerse it in water or other liquids. Avoid water entering the drive shaft.

Can I wash the accessories in the dishwasher?

No, no accessory should be washed in the dishwasher. Wash them by hand with warm water and dish soap. Be careful with the sharp blades.

How to use the multi-chopper safely?

The blades are very sharp. Always hold the knife by its protective cover. Cut the food into pieces of about 1 cm. Do not fill beyond the MAX mark. Do not chop hot liquids or hard foods like ice cubes or coffee.

Can I blend hot liquids?

Yes, but with caution. The food temperature must not exceed 70 °C. Hot liquids may splatter from the container as sudden steam. Use a tall container.

How to change the accessories?

Always unplug the appliance before changing accessories. For the immersion blender or whisk, turn the motor unit to unlock. For the multi-chopper, remove the lid and knife carefully.

What to do if the appliance no longer works?

First check that the plug is properly connected and the voltage matches. If the problem persists, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Contact Severin customer service by phone or email.

How to beat egg whites with the whisk?

Use the whisk with its adapter. Immerse the whisk into the egg whites before starting. Use Turbo speed for about 60 seconds. Wait for complete motor stop before removing the whisk.

Where to find spare parts?

Contact Severin customer service to obtain spare parts or accessories. Only use original parts recommended by the manufacturer.

Connection to the mains supply

The mains voltage must correspond to the voltage specified on the type plate of the appliance. This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions

- In order to avoid hazards and to comply with safety regulations, any repairs to the appliance and the power supply unit must only be carried out by our customer service. Therefore, in the event of a repair being needed, please contact our customer service by phone or email (see Annex).

- The appliance may be used by individuals with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or those lacking experience and/or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received proper instruction regarding the safe operation of the appliance from a person responsible for their safety and fully understand the associated

risks.

- This appliance must not be used by children. This appliance and its power cord must be kept out of the reach of children.

• Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.

- Exercise caution when processing hot liquids, as they may escape from the blending jug in the form of sudden bursts of steam.

- Only fill the blending jug with food that has a maximum temperature of 70 °C.

• After switching off, always wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill. Do not touch any moving parts.

- The individual attachments should be cleaned after each cycle of use. For

detailed information, please refer to the section Cleaning and care.

- The blades are sharp. Risk of injury! Be particularly careful when cleaning the blender unit!

For appliances with accessories (Art. No. SM 003762):

Also be careful when emptying and cleaning the processing bowl!

- Warning! Improper use of the appliance may result in injury.

- Unplug the power cord - before assembling or disassembling the appliance, - in case of any malfunction, - when there is no supervision, - after use, - before cleaning the

appliance.

• Do not take the power plug out of the socket by pulling on the power cord, but hold the power plug to take it out. Handle the power plug with dry hands only.

- The appliance is designed for domestic use and similar applications, such as:

• in kitchen areas in shops, offices and similar work environments,
• in agricultural working environments,
• use by guests in hotels, motels and other residential facilities,
• in bed-and breakfast type environments.

- Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. of

suffocation.

• Beforecommissioning, check the whole appliance, including the power cord and any accessories, to ensure that there are no defects or damage, which could impair the functional safety of the appliance. For example, if the appliance has fallen onto the floor, or the power cord has been pulled, there may be damage that cannot be seen from the outside. In this case, too, do not operate the appliance.

- Place and operate the appliance only on a flat, stable surface.

- Never allow the appliance or the power cord to be exposed to any external source of heat.

- Never leave the power cord dangling downwards.

- Keep your hair, hands, and loose clothing away from moving parts, openings, and vents to avoid entanglement.

- No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.

Cleaning and Care

• Always pull out the mains plug before cleaning.
- Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents or sharp or pointed objects.
- Remove leftover food from the appliance after each use.
- For reasons of electrical safety, the drive unit and the connecting cable must not be treated with liquids or even immersed in them. Only clean the parts with a

slightly damp cloth.

- The lower part of the blender unit can be cleaned in warm water using a standard washing-up liquid. Caution! The blender blade is sharp.

If the blade is heavily soiled, clean it with a brush.

- Wipe the upper part of the blender unit with a damp cloth.

Make sure that no water runs into the drive shaft of the blender unit!

- Do not clean individual parts in the dishwasher.

Item No. SM 003761 and 003762:

- Clean the blending jug in soapy water.

Art. No. SM 003762:

- The whisk, the processing bowl with lid, and the multi-chopper blade can be cleaned with warm

water and a standard dishwashing detergent. Caution! The blade is sharp.

Intended Use

• The appliance is used exclusively for mixing the specified foods. When using the accessory, it can also be used to chop the specified foods and to whip cream or egg whites.
• Only use the appliance with the associated accessories.
• Any other use not mentioned in the instructions is considered improper use and could result in serious injury or damage to the appliance.

Before using for the first time

• Remove all remaining packaging material and any promotional stickers from the appliance. The nameplate must not be removed.
• Clean the appliance as described in the Cleaning and Care section.

Short-time operation

• The appliance is designed for processing normal household quantities.
• It can be used as follows:
  Blender: max. 1 minute of continuous use
  Whisk: max. 1 minute of continuous use
  Chopper: max. 15 seconds of continuous use
• After each use, allow the motor to cool down for at least 3 minutes.

Switching functions

The blender is equipped with two pushbuttons:

- Power button ⊕ for normal speed.

- TURBO button for maximum speed.

Handling of the blender unit

- Place the blender unit on the drive unit so that ▼ in the drive unit and on the blender unit are facing each other. Then lock so that ▼ and face each other.

- Always use a suitable container for operation. A tall container with a flat base is best.

- Dip the blender unit into the filled mixture before the hand blender is switched on.

• Make sure that the unit can rotate freely inside the bowl and is not blocked during operation.

- As soon as the buttons or Turbo are released, the hand blender is switched off. Wait for the motor to stop before removing the blender from the food to be mixed.

• After use, pull the mains plug and remove the food mixed.

Multi-chopper

• Caution: Exercise extreme care: the blades are very sharp. When handling the blades, always hold them by the upper protective plastic covering.
• Cut the material to be sliced into pieces of approximately 1 cm.
• Fit the cutting blade unit into the bowl before filling the bowl with the food to be chopped.
• Avoid overfilling the working tank! The processing bowl may be filled with herbs etc. up to the MAX mark.
• Do not fill with hot liquids or hard foods (e.g. ice cubes, nutmegs, cereals, coffee beans, rice or spices). Hard cheese or chocolate is also unsuitable.
• Close the processing bowl with the lid and lock it by turning clockwise.
• Put the drive unit on the lid of the processing bowl. Lock by turning so that and face each other.
  • Plug in the mains plug and press the

turbo button in short intervals until the material to be sliced has reached the desired fineness. Hold the lid and the processing bowl.

• After chopping, first pull out the mains plug before opening the lid or removing the drive unit. To loosen the drive unit, turn it until ▼ and face each other.
  Unlock the lid, remove it and take out the blade and the food to be sliced.
• When processing further food after the first cycle, make sure that the receptacle for the blade unit at the bottom of the bowl is free of food residue before refitting the unit.
  • After preparation, store food in a separate container.

Whisk

The whisk is suitable for whipping cream or egg whites or for mixing liquids such as soups, sauces, etc.

• Insert the whisk into the whisk adapter.
• Put the drive unit on the adapter. Lock by twisting until ▼ and face each other.
• Push the whisk attachment down into the ingredients in the bowl before briefly switching the unit on with the operation buttons.
  • Always wait until the motor has come to a complete standstill before lifting the whisk attachment from the mixture.
• Unplug the power cord.

Information for testing institutes

• The following recipe can be used to achieve maximum performance:
• Hand blender:
  Blend 280 g of soaked carrots and 420 ml of water for 60 seconds
• Multi-chopper:
  Mince 200 g of beef (in pieces of 20 x 20 x 20) for 15 seconds.
  Whisk:
  Beat 2 egg whites for 60 seconds
