How do I attach the blending shaft?

Align the shaft with the motor unit and push until it clicks into place. Ensure the unit is unplugged before assembly.

Can I blend hot liquids?

Yes, but allow liquids to cool slightly to avoid splashing. Never submerge the motor unit above the shaft connection.

How do I clean the blender?

Detach the shaft and whisk. Rinse under running water immediately after use. The shaft and whisk are dishwasher safe on the top rack. Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth.

What is the maximum operating time?

Do not run continuously for more than 1 minute. Allow the motor to cool for 2 minutes between uses.

Can I crush ice with this blender?

The HM 3838 is not designed for ice crushing. Use only for soft foods and liquids.

What does the turbo pulse function do?

Turbo pulse provides a short burst of maximum power for tough blending tasks. Press and hold the turbo button while blending.

How do I use the whisk attachment?

Attach the whisk to the motor unit in place of the blending shaft. Use for whipping cream, egg whites, and light batters.

Is the blender BPA-free?

Yes, all plastic parts that come into contact with food are BPA-free.

What should I do if the blender stops working?

Check if the appliance is plugged in and the safety switch is properly engaged. Allow the motor to cool if it overheated. If it still doesn't work, contact Severin support.

Yes, the blending shaft is long enough for use in pots and bowls. Ensure the pot is stable and not overfilled.

Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this instruction manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the appliance. Th is product complies with the directives which are binding for the CE-labelling.

When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself. Do not let the power cord hang free.

Before using for the first time

Before the appliance is used for the first time, all detachable parts must be thoroughly cleaned as described in the section General Care and Cleaning.

Short-time operation

The appliance is designed to process average domestic quantities of food. It should not be operated continuously for more than 5 minutes. Switch off the appliance aft erwards and allow the motor to cool down.

Switch settings for hand blender operation

When mixing light and liquid mixtures or when stirring in any ingredients, the lower speed settings should be used.

Use the medium and high speed settings for stirring and kneading.

For heavy dough mixtures, the maximum setting must be used.

Turbo function

Maximum speed may be obtained by pressing down the turbo button, regardless of the speed level selected.

Operation

General information

Depending on the quantity of ingredients, use a sufficiently deep bowl.

Any bowl, round container or glass is suitable, provided it is scratch-proof and the attachments can rotate freely inside.

- After fitting the attachments, take the mixer into your hand and position the attachments inside the container filled with the ingredients.

Use your thumb to operate the switches. – When you have fi nished mixing or if you wish to interrupt the operation, switch off fi rst before lift ing the attachments out of the mixture.

Beaters

For light and liquid mixtures such as crèmes, mashed potatoes, egg white or cream, insert one or both beaters into the openings on the underside of the mixer and push them gently upwards until they lock into place.

Dough hooks

For kneading dough, the dough hooks must be used. The hook with the integrated plate must be inserted into the larger opening.

Ejecting the attachments

The beaters or dough hooks are automatically detached when depressing both eject buttons.

General cleaning and care

Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.

- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.

Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning ● solutions for cleaning.

- The housing may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.

The beaters and dough hooks may be cleaned using hot water and a mild detergent, or in a dish-washer.

Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.

Guarantee

Th is product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. Th is guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.

Th is guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. Th is guarantee does not affect your statutory rights, nor any legal rights you may have as a consumer under
