DAILY USE

  • This appliance is designed to operate in ambient temperature between 10^ and 43^ . If these temperatures are exceeded, i.e. colder or warmer, the appliance will not operate correctly. If the ambient temperatures are exceeded for long periods, the temperature in the freezer section will rise above -18^ and food spoilage may occur.
  • Remove all packaging materials from the appliance. Wash the inside of the cabinet with lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda (5ml to 0.5 liter of water). Dry the appliance thoroughly.
  • When you use the freezer for the first time or after defrosting, set the thermostat control to the maximum position for at least 2 hours before introducing food to be stored, and then readjust to the normal position.
  • If there is a power failure, do not open the door. Frozen food should not be affected if the failure lasts for less than 12 hours. If the failure is longer, then the food should be checked and either eaten immediately or cooked and then re-frozen.

TEMPERATURE AND MODE SETTING

- The temperature in the cabinet is controlled by the main control board, and the display board shows the current gear and mode. There are five gears to choose.

FIRST USE

Cleaning the interior

Before using the appliance for the first time, clean the interior and all internal accessories with lukewarm water and some neutral soap to remove the typical smell of a brand new product, then dry thoroughly.

IMPORTANT! Do not use detergents or abrasive powders, as these will damage the finish.

FREEZING FRESH FOOD

  • The freezer compartment is suitable for freezing fresh food and storing frozen and deep-frozen food for a long time.
  • Place the fresh food to be frozen in the freezer compartment.
  • The maximum amount of food that can be frozen in 24 hours is specified on the rating label.
  • The freezing process lasts 24 hours: during this period do not add other food to be frozen.
  • The combination of the drawers, baskets and shelves shown in the Description of the Device is optimal for efficient energy savings. Changing the combination proposition could impact the appliance’s performance.

STORING FROZEN FOOD

When first starting up or after a period out of use, let the appliance run for at least 2 hours on the higher settings before putting the product in the compartment.

IMPORTANT! In the event of accidental defrosting, for example, the power has been off for longer than the value shown in the technical characteristics chart under "rising time", the defrosted food must be consumed quickly or cooked immediately and then re-frozen (after cooking).

TEMPERATURE SETTING TIPS

Correct temperature settings help minimize food waste and keep food fresh for as long as possible. The freezer should be set at -18^ C.

If the temperature setting is too high (freezer above -18^ ), the storage life of foods such as meat and bean products is shortened, leading to food waste.

Never forget: When you freeze fresh foods with a 'use by / best before / best by'date, ensure that they are frozen before the indicated date expires.

Check that the food was not already frozen. Indeed, frozen food that has thawed completely must not be refrozen.

Once defrosted, food should be consumed quickly. In order to avoid food waster, maintain a cooling temperature of 4–6°C.

THAWING

Deep-frozen or frozen food, prior to be used, can be thawed in the freezer compartment or at room temperature, depending on the time available for this operation.

ENERGY SAVING TIPS

To help you make the most of the freezing process, here are some important hints:

  • The maximum quantity of food which can be frozen in 24 hrs. is shown on the rating label,
  • The freezing process takes 24 hours. No further food to be frozen should be added during this period;
  • Only freeze top-quality, fresh and thoroughly cleaned foodstuffs;
  • Prepare food in small portions to enable it to be rapidly and completely frozen and to make it possible subsequently to thaw only the quantity required;
  • Wrap the food in aluminium foil or polythene and make sure that the packages are airtight;
  • Do not allow fresh, unfrozen food to touch food that is already frozen, thus avoiding a rise in temperature of the latter;
  • Lean foods store better and longer than fatty ones; salt reduces the storage life of food,
    • Water ices, if consumed immediately after removal from the freezer compartment, can possibly cause the skin to be freeze burnt;

HINTS FOR STORAGE OF FROZEN FOOD

To obtain the best performance from this appliance, you should:

• Make sure that the commercially frozen foodstuffs were adequately stored by the retailer;

  • Ensure that frozen foodstuffs are transferred from the food store to the freezer in the shortest possible time;
  • Avoid opening the door frequently or leave it open longer than absolutely necessary;
  • Once defrosted, food deteriorates rapidly and cannot be re-frozen;
  • Do not exceed the storage period indicated by the food manufacturer.

MAINTENANCE

NOISE FROM YOUR APPLIANCE

You may notice some rather unusual noises. The noises are caused by circulation of refrigerant in the cooling system. It has become more pronounced since the introduction of CFC free gases. This is not a fault and will not affect the performance of your appliance.
