Installation

Seethechapter Installation.

Overflowguard

Theoverflowguardstartspumpingoutthewaterandturnsoffthewatersupplyifthewaterlevelin thedishwasherexceedsthenormallevel.Iftheoverflowguardstriggered,F54(Overfillingwater) appearsonthedisplay.Turnoffthewatertapandcontactyournearestservicecentre.(Toavoid waterleakageoutsidethedishwasher,donotremovetheplugfromthewallsocketuntilthewater taponthesupplylinehasbeenturnedoff!)

Packaging

Theouterpackagingprotectstheproductduringtransport. Thepackagingmaterialisrecyclable. Separatethedifferentpackagingmaterialstohelpreducerawmaterialuseandwaste. Yourdealer cantakethepackagingforrecyclingordirectyoutothenearestrecyclingcentre. Thepackaging iscomprisedof:

• Corrugatedcardboardmadefromupto 100% recycledmaterial.
• Expandedpolystyrene(EPS)withnoaddedchlorineorfluorine.
  •Supportsmadefromuntreatedwood.
• Protectiveplasticmadefrompolyethylene(PE).

Disposal

Thedishwashermanufacturedandlabelledforrecycling.Whenthedishwasherhasreachedthe endofitsservicelifeandistobedisposedof,itshouldimmediatelybemadeunusable.Pulloutthe powercableandcutitasshortaspossible.

Contact your local authority for information about where and how your dish washers should be correctly recycled.

Beforewashingforthefirsttime

1. Waterhardness

Inordertoachievegooddishwashingresults,thedishwasherneedssoftwater(waterwithlowmineral content).Hardwaterleavesawhitecoatingondishesandthedishwasher.

Checkingwaterhardness

WaterhardnessisspecifiedusingGermandegreesofwaterhardness(°dH),Frenchdegreesof waterhardness(°fH),Englishdegreesofwaterhardness(°eH)ormillimolesperlitre(mmol/l).

Awatersupplywithawaterhardnessinexcessof5°dH(9°fH/6°eH/0.9mmol/l)mustbesoftened. Thisisdoneautomaticallywiththeaidofthebuilt-inwatersoftener.Inorderforthewatersoftener tofunctionproperly,itssettingsmustbeadjustedtothehardnessofthewatersupply.Onceyou haveadjustedthewatersoftenersettings,adddetergentandrinseaidindosessuitableforsoft water.

If the water hardness exceeds 50^ dH ( 89^ fH/62°eH/8.9 mmol/l), were recommend connecting an external watersoftener.

Increasedconsumptionduringregeneration

Thedishwasher's built-in watersofteneris regularly regenerated to maintain its function. Regeneration extend the dish washing program and increases energy and water consumption. Just how often the dish washer's watersofteneris regenerated depends on these selected settings.

Example: If the Eco55° program is run with a water hardness of 14° dH (25° fH/18° eH/2.5 mmol/l), the waters softeneris regenerated at regular intervals (after 7 dish washing cycles), energy consumption increases by 0.015 kWh, and water consumption increases by 2.3 litres, while the program time is extended by 3 minutes. Regeneration takes placed during the program's main wash.

Beforewashingforthefirsttime

WARNING!

Hardwaterleavesawhitecoatingondishesandinsidethedishwasher.Itisthereforeimportant that you select the right setting for the water softener! See Water hardness in the chapter Settings.

Neverrunthedishwasherwithanemptysaltcompartmentifthewatersupplyhasawaterhardness inexcessof5°dH(9°fH/6°eH/0.9mmol/l).

2.Basicsettings

The first timethedishwasher is switched on, it is important that you choose the right setting to ensure good dish washing results. Seepage 19.

Lift up to open Press to close

Dryingisfasterandabetterresultisachieved ifyouuserinseaid.Youwillalsoachievea betterdishwashingresultwithclearand spotlessdishes.

Topuptherinseaidcompartmentwithrinse aidifyouhaveselectedRinseaid3:01-3:05.

1. Opentherinseaaidcompartmentlid.
2. CarefullytopupwithrinseaidtothelevelmarkedMAX.
   3.Wipeupanysplashesofrinseaidaroundthecompartment.
   4.Closethelidfirmly.

4. Topupwithsalt

Addsalttothesaltcompartmentifyouhave selectedWaterhardness4:01-4:09.

1. Removethesaltcompartmentlidbyturningitanticlockwise.

Beforewashingforthefirsttime

1. Placethefunnelsuppliedwiththedishwasherinthesaltcompartmenttop-uphole.Before washingforthefirsttime, pourinabout1lofwater.(Waterisonlyneededthefirsttime.)

2. Addenoughsalttofillthesaltcompartment(max.750gram). Usespecialdishwashersalt.

3. Wipeawayexcesssaltandturnthelidclockwiseuntilintheclosedposition.

WARNING!

Inordertoavoidruststainsadishwashingprogrammustbestartedinmediatelyafteradding salt.

Saveenergyandwater

When using adishwasherinaresidential setting, less energy and water are generally used compared to washing the dishes by hand.

Donotrinseunderrunningwater

Donotrinsethedishesunderrunningwaterasthiswillleadtoincreasedenergyandwater consumption.Simplyscrapeofflargefoodparticlesbeforeloadingthedishwasher.

Chooseagreendetergent

Readtheenvironmentaldeclarationonthepackaging!

Toomuchdetergent, rinseaidandsaltcanresultinlesseffectivedishwashingandalsoentailgreater environmentalimpact.

Runafullyloadeddishwasher

Saveenergyandwaterbywaitinguntilthedishwasherisfullbeforerunningaprogram(seenumber ofstandardplacesettings).Usethe1h65 programwiththeSpeedwashoptiontorinsethe dishesifthereareanyunpleasantodours.

Runprogramsatalowertemperature

Ifthedishesareonlyslightlydirty,youcanselectaprogramwithalowtemperature.

Selectdishwashingprogram-Eco55°

Thisprogramissuitableforwashingnormallysoileddishesandisthemosteeffectiveprogramin termsofcombinedenergyandwaterconsumption. Thisprogramisusedtoassesscompliancewith EUlegislationonecodesign.

Thedishwashingprogramisdesignedforaneffectivewashashingaslittleenergyandwateras possible. Theprogramwashesatalowtemperatureforalongtime.

Selection-Automaticdooropening

AshorterdishwashingprogramandbetterdryingresultsareachievedifyouusetheAutomati dooropeningoption,whichautomaticallyopensthedishwasherdoor.Waituntilthedishwasher indicatesthattheprogramhasendedandthedisheshavecooledbeforeunloadingthedishwasher. (Ifthedishwasherisbuilt-in,thesurroundingfurnishingsmustberesistanttoanycondensationfrom thedishwasher.)

Connecttocoldwater

Connectthedishwashertothecoldwatersupplyifthebuildingisheatedusingoil,electricityorgas.

Connecttohotwater

Connectthedishwashertothehotwatersupply(max.70°C)ifthebuildingisheatedusingan energy-efficientmeanssuchasdistrictheating,solarpowerorgeothermalpower.Choosingahot waterconnectionreducethedishwasher'senergyconsumption.

NOTE!

Donotexceedthepermittedwatersupplytemperature.Certainmaterialsusedinsomecookware cannot withstand high heat. See Fragile dishes in the chapter Loading the dishwasher.

Loadingthedishwasher

Fragiledishes

Somecookwareisnotdishwashersafe.Thiscanbeforseveralreasons.Somematerialscannotwithstandhighheat,otherscanbedamagedbydishwasherdetergent.

Exercisecautionwith,forexample,handmadeitems,fragiledecoration,crystal/glassware,silver,copper,tin,aluminium,woodandplastic.Lookforthe"Dishwashersafe"marking.

Loadingaffectstheresults

Loadthedishescarefullytoensurethebestwashinganddryingresultswiththelowestpossible energyandwaterconsumption.Giveyourdishwasherthebestchancetoreachandcleanallsurfaces, aswellastodrythedishesasthoroughlyaspossible.

• Allirtysurfaceshouldfaceinwardsanddownwards!
• Dishesshouldnotbeplacedinoroneachother.

- Angle dishes with hollows, such as cups, so that the rinse water will run off. This is also important for plastic items.

- Makesuresmallitemscannotfallthroughthedishwasherbasket; placetheminthecutlery basket.

Thedishwasher'sbaskets

Thedishwasherisequippedwithanupperbasketandalowerbasketwithacutlerybasket.

Theappearanceofthebasketsmaydifferdependingonthedishwashersetup.

Upperbasket

Placeglasses,cups,bowls,sideplatesandsaucersintheupperbasket.Alldirtysurfaceshould faceinwardsanddownwards!Wineglassesareplacedonthewineglassshelfandknivesare placedintheknifestandontheright.

1. Pullouttheupperbasket.
2. Use both hand stolift the side handles.
3. In the upper position, use both hand stolift the side handles and carefully lower the basket.

Toomuchdetergentcanresultinlesseffective dishwashingandalsoentailsgreater environmentalimpact.

The detergent compartment must bedry when adding detergent. There is one compartment for the prewash and one forth them main wash. If dish washer detergent powder or dish washer detergent gel is used, you can add small amount of the detergent to the prewash compartment. If you have questions about the detergent, contact the detergent manufacturer.

NOTE!

Useonlydishwasherdetergent!Washingupliquidmustnotbeusedasthefoamthatforms preventsthedishwasherfromoperatingeffectively.

All-in-onedetergent

Therearemanytypesofall-in-onedetergentsonthemarket.Readthroughthedirectionsforthese productscarefully.

Activate the TAB setting when using an all-in-on-detergent that contains rinse aid.

Dishwashertabletsarenotrecommendedforprogramslastinglessthan75minutes.Usedishwasher detergentpowderordishwasherdetergentgelinstead.

NOTE!

Optimalwashinganddryingresultsareachievedbyusingdishwasherdetergenttogetherwith separatelydispensedrinseaidandsalt.

eco Eco55°

Thisprogramissuitableforwashingnormallysoileddishesandisthemosteeffectiveprogramin termsofcombinedenergyandwaterconsumption. Thisprogramisusedtoassesscompliancewith EUlegislationonecodesign.

YoucanreadmoreaboutgreenerdishwashinginthechapterGreenerdishwashing.

Forheavilysoileddisheswithalotofgrease,aprogramwithhighertemperaturesshouldbeused.

Aquickprogramforslightlydriedleftovers.(Thisprogramisnotintendedforburntfood,suchas onovendishes.)

The Automatic door opening option is important for ensuring the best drying results.

Intensive70°

Aprogramwithahightemperaturefordissolvinggreaseonverydirtydishes,suchaspans,casserole dishesandovendishes.Ifthesedishesdonotcompletelyfillthedishwasher,youcanaddplates andotherdishes.

Glass40°

Agentledishwashingprogramwithalowtemperatureforwashingfragileitemsmadeofcrystal/glass. Remembertouseasmallamountofdetergentandtoplaceitemssothattheydonottoucheach

other during the wash. See also Fragile dishes in the chapter Loading the dishwasher. Porcelain that has just been used without dried leftovers can also bewashed using this program.

Hygiene70°

This program is ideal to use hered demand on hygiene are e-trahigh, e.g. for baby bottles and cutting boards. The temperature is high both them in main wash and in the final rinse.

Night55°

Aquieterdishwashingprogram, suitable for running at night. The program time is extended.

Quick35°

Aquickprogramfordishesthathavejustbeenusedandhavenodriedleftoversonthem.

Self-clean

Self-cleaningprogramforhygieniccleaningofthedishwashertub,sprayarmsandspraypipes.

Thisprogramshouldberun(withnodishesinthemachine)usingdishwasherdetergentorcitric acid.Specialdishwashercleanersarealsoavailableonthemarket.Fortheremovaloflimescale deposits,seeDishwashertubinthechapterCareandcleaning.

NOTE!

Thedishwasherdooropensduringthedryingphase,whichshortenstheprogramtimeandimproves thedryingresults.Waituntilthedishwasherindicatesthattheprogramhasendedandthedishes havecooledbeforeunloadingthedishwasher.(Ifthedishwasherisbuilt-in,thesurroundingfurnishings mustberesistanttoanycondensationfromthedishwasher.)

The drying time of the Automatic door opening option varies (from 5 to 90 minutes) depending on the model, program and temperature of the final rinse.

If you have hardwater, limescale deposits may build up in the dishwasher. If this happens, run the Self-clean program with twotables spoon of citric acid in the detergent compartment (with nodishes in themachine). Special dish washer cleaners are also available on the market.

Removeblockages

If the dishwasher still contains water after the program has finished, something may be blocking the drainage pump, which results in the error message Water outlet fault or BLDC drain pump fault.

3. Scoopoutthewaterfromthedishwashertub.

Drainageconnection
