USER MANUAL EBC 10V Essentiel B

General instructions

• This kitchen scale is for household use only. Any other use (medical or commercial) is excluded.
• Always place the scale on a horizontal, flat and stable surface. Do not place the scale on the edge of a table or worktop.
• Place the container or other food to be weighed in the centre of the platform.
• The scale is a high-precision electronic weighing appliance: use it with care. Do not try to take it apart and do not subject it to strong vibrations and shocks.
• Do not press on it or drop the scale.
• Do not store objects on the appliance.
• Do not expose the device to direct sunlight. Keep it away from any source of heat and moisture.
• Make sure that children do not play with the appliance.
• Do not overload the scale (maximum capacity: 10kg ).
• If the result is displayed incorrectly, check that the batteries and contact points are touching.

Replace the batteries if the scale has not been used for a long time, then try again.

• Do not use the kitchen scale in places where magnetic fields could interfere with the information transmitted by the scale.
• When moving the scale to a place with a temperature difference of more than 10^ , leave it to rest for at least two hours before switching it on.
• Never submerge the appliance in water or any other liquid and do not expose it to splashing water.
• Make sure that no liquids get inside the scale.

Battery recycling

• Do not dispose of batteries in the household waste.
• To protect the environment, dispose of batteries in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Drop them in your nearest battery container or return them to your store.

• Do not recharge the batteries, dismantle them or throw them into a fire.

• Do not expose them to high temperatures or direct sunlight.

• Do not incinerate them.

Using the appliance

Inserting/replacing batteries

1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the scale.
2. Insert 2 × 1.5 V LR03/AAA batteries (supplied) with the positive and negative poles in the proper direction as indicated in the compartment (see figure below).
3. Put the cover back on.

COMMENTS:

• Use only the battery type specified in this manual.
• Replace the batteries when they are dead or if they leak.
• Remove the batteries if the scale is not to be used for a prolonged period.

Turning the scale on

To turn on the scale, first place it on a flat, stable surface.

Press the centre of the scale until it lights up.

Choose the unit of measurement

• By default, the unit of measurement is grams (g).
• Select the unit of measurement by pressing the "UNIT" button one or more times. It switches from grams (g) to solid ounces (lb:oz) followed by fluid ounces (oz) and then millilitres (ml) before returning to grams (g).

Taring/resetting the screen

• When the weight of the food is displayed on the screen, press the "OFF/TARE" so that the display returns to zero. This function is useful for weighing a number of ingredients in sequence.

• If you add another ingredient to the scale, its weight is displayed independently of the previous weight.

• Press the "OFF/TARE" button so that the display returns to zero. This function is useful for weighing a number of ingredients in sequence.
• If you remove all the ingredients, the display shows a negative weight (with the "-" sign). Press the "OFF/TARE" button so that the display returns to zero.

Switching off the scale

• You can turn off the scale by pressing and holding the "" for 2 seconds.
• Note that the scale switches off automatically after 2 minutes of non-use, including when a container or ingredients are placed on it.

Low/dead battery indicator

• When the battery is low, the following indication appears on the screen to let you know that you will soon need to replace the battery:

Unstable weight indicator

• If the weight on the scale is not stable or if the scale is not placed on a hard, flat and stable surface, the following indication appears on the display:

• Place the scale on a flat, level and stable surface, and try again.

Overload indicator

• The maximum weight supported by the scale is 10,000g ( 10kg ). If the scale is overloaded, the following message appears on the screen:

• Remove the food or container to prevent any malfunction. If you want to weigh large quantities of ingredients, weigh them in batches.

Cleaning and maintenance

• Wipe the scale platform with a soft damp sponge and a little washing-up liquid. Be careful not to let water or other liquids get inside the appliance, especially in the battery compartment. Then dry with a soft cloth.
• Do not use abrasive detergents or scouring sponge for cleaning as this will damage the coating.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
