Product usage
Before first use
- The food slicer includes a food pusher that fits on the handle of the sliding carriage to guard your hand from the blade. The food pusher allows you to press the food against the thickness guide, while you push and pull the sliding carriage forward and backward along the rotating blade to cut the slices.
- The unit must be used with the food pusher to protect your hand, unless the size of the food is too large or its shape prevents it. In such case, keep your hand on the handle as far away as possible from the blade, or cut the food into a smaller size to use the food pusher.
- For safety, always press the ON/OFF switch to turn the unit off and also unplug the power cord from the wall socket before cleaning, repositioning, adding or removing anything from the unit.

IMPORTANT!
Once you are finished slicing, always turn off and unplug the unit, then set the thickness adjustment knob to 0 to return the blade to the safe position.
Preparing the appliance
- Ensure the ON/OFF switch is off and the unit is unplugged from the wall socket.
- Clean the unit and food contact accessories ( Cleaning and maintenance section).
- Place the food slicer on a flat, dry, and stable work surface (e.g. on a kitchen countertop), with the ON/OFF switch facing yourself (the user).
- Put a plate near the unit to collect the food slices.
- Hold the handle of the sliding carriage and pull the carriage towards yourself.
- Position the food on the sliding carriage, place the food pusher on the handle and use it to keep the food gently pressed against the thickness guide when slicing.

NOTE: The size of the food should not exceed: 11 x 11 x 9 cm (length x height x width). Cut the food to fit in the sliding carriage, if required.

CAUTION!
- It is recommended to wear metal mesh gloves underneath vinyl gloves to protect your hands when slicing. To avoid electric shock, do not wear the metal mesh gloves alone when handling electrical units.
- Always keep the floor and work area around the unit clean and dry, and clear of objects you might trip over.
- Always tie back long hair, tuck in loose clothing and remove jewellery to prevent them from getting caught by moving parts.
Use

DANGER – Risk of serious injury!
- This unit has a sharp blade that rotates at high speed, and it can cause serious injury. Use extreme caution when working near the table and handling the blade.
- NEVER TOUCH THE BLADE DURING USE. AVOID CONTACT WITH MOVING PARTS.
• DO NOT USE THE UNIT IN THE PRESENCE OF CHILDREN AND PETS.

Important: To prevent damage to the motor from overheating, do not use the food slicer for more than 10 minutes at a time. Turn off and let the unit rest for at least 30 minutes before using again. In the event of overheating, turn off and unplug the unit. Let it cool down completely for at least 30 minutes. Do not overload the unit.
- Plug the power cord firmly into a suitable wall socket.
- Select the desired thickness by turning the thickness adjustment knob from 0 to 20. The slice thickness ranges from 0 to 20 mm. Turn the knob anticlockwise for a thicker slice, or clockwise for a thinner slice. The thickness guide adjusts accordingly.
- Press the ON/OFF switch to turn the unit on and the blade will start to rotate.
- To slice food, push and pull the sliding carriage by holding only the handle and the food pusher. Move the sliding carriage forward and backward with a smooth motion along the rotating blade. Do not push too hard to obtain an even cut. If slicing becomes difficult, pull the sliding carriage away from the blade and try again with a gentler push. Always use the food pusher to protect your hand, especially when slicing small pieces of food.

WARNING!
- Make sure that you can always see your hands and fingers, as well as the cutting blade when slicing.
- NEVER PUT YOUR HANDS NEAR THE BLADE AREA. ONLY HOLD THE HANDLE AND FOOD PUSHER.
-
DO NOT FEED FOOD INTO THE SLICER BY HAND. ALWAYS USE THE FOOD PUSHER WHEN POSSIBLE.
-
To change the slicing thickness, always turn the unit off. Then adjust the thickness by turning the thickness adjustment knob.
- Once finished using the unit, press the ON/OFF switch to the off position (0) to turn the unit off and unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
- Turn the thickness adjustment knob fully clockwise to 0 to avoid exposing the blade.
- Now you can safely remove the food slices and food from the unit.
- Clean the unit after each use ( Cleaning and maintenance section).
B
Product usage

NOTE: Use a knife to finish slicing the food when it becomes too thin or difficult to slice with the unit.
Tips for using the appliance
GENERAL TIPS
- Do not slice meats with bones, or foods with any hard textures, such as hard peels, hard pits or seeds, shells, etc.
- Do not attempt to slice frozen foods or foods that are too hard.
- To slice fresh meats wafer thin, freeze the meat for only 2 to 4 hours before slicing so that the meat is just firm enough.
- Foods with an uneven texture, such as fish and thin steaks, are often difficult to slice. Freeze them for 2 to 4 hours before slicing.
- During slicing, if the rotational speed of the blade slows down, allow the food to thaw for a while before slicing again.
- When canning or preserving in large batches, you can use the food slicer to cut cucumbers, onions, fruits, etc.
- You can moisten the surface of the blade with a little cooking oil before slicing foods that tend to stick. This will make slicing easier.
HOT ROASTS: BEEF, PORK, LAMB, HAM
- When slicing a warm boneless roast, let the roast rest at least 15 to 20 minutes before slicing to allow the meat to reabsorb the juices. The roast will be more juicy and easier to handle.
- Cut the roast, if necessary, to fit on the sliding carriage. If the roast is tied, remove the strings before slicing.
EXTRA-THIN SLICED CORNED BEEF OR FRESH BEEF BRISKET
Chill cooked brisket overnight in cooking liquid. Before slicing, drain and reserve the meat drippings from the brisket. Pat dry with paper towels. Remove excess fat. Slice the chilled brisket to the desired thickness. To serve hot, place slices on a heatproof platter and moisten with a small amount of reserved meat dripping. Heat in the oven at 150 °C for 30 minutes.
CHEESE
Chill thoroughly before slicing. Then cover with foil to keep moist. Before serving, let the cheese reach room temperature, this enhances its natural flavour.
COLD CUTS
Cold cuts can retain their flavour for longer when sliced as needed. For best results, chill first. Remove any plastic or hard casing before slicing. Use a constant, gentle pressure for uniform slices.
B
Product usage
VEGETABLES AND FRUITS
Your slicer is suitable for slicing a wide variety of vegetables and fruits, including potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, cabbage (for slaw), eggplant, squash and zucchini. Potato may be sliced thick for casseroles or thin for chips. The slicer is also great for slicing fresh peeled pineapple, oranges, apples, etc.
BREADS, CAKES AND COOKIES
Freshly baked bread should be cooled before slicing. Use day-old or slightly stale bread for extra-thin slices for toasting. Your slicer is ideal for all types of breads, pound cake and fruit cake. For wafer-like ice-box cookies, chill the dough in the refrigerator, slice as desired.
Cleaning and maintenance

WARNING!
- Before cleaning, always unplug the unit from the wall socket and wait until the blade has come to a complete stop. Then turn the thickness adjustment knob to 0.
- Never immerse the unit, power cord or plug in water or any other liquids as they contain electrical parts. Never rinse them under the tap. Do not allow water to get into the motor unit while cleaning.
• THE BLADE IS EXTREMELY SHARP. HANDLE IT CAREFULLY. - DO NOT clean the blade or any part in the dishwasher.

NOTE: Never use solvents, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents, wire brushes, sharp objects or scouring pads to clean the unit.
- Clean the unit after each use to prevent accumulation of perishable food scraps on the unit and behind the blade.
- Blade – Remove the blade for cleaning. It is recommended to wear mesh safety gloves underneath vinyl gloves for this task.
1) After unplugging the unit, remove the 3 screws holding the blade by turning them anticlockwise with a crosshead screwdriver.
2) Carefully remove the blade and wash it in warm soapy water with a soft cloth or sponge. Wipe from the centre of the blade toward the outer edge. Rinse well and dry with a soft dry cloth.
3) Reattach the blade to the unit and tighten the 3 screws securely with the screwdriver.
- Main unit – Wipe down the unit with a soft cloth moistened with warm soapy water. Wipe off with a clean moist cloth. Repeat if necessary and dry thoroughly.
C

- Non-slip suction feet – It is important to clean the non-slip suction feet of any food debris or grease to keep them effective. If warm soapy water does not remove the grease, use an alcohol wipe or glass cleaner.
- Sliding carriage / food pusher – Pull the sliding carriage upwards to remove it or slide it off the unit. Wash in warm soapy water with a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse well and dry.
- Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling the unit.
- The motor does not need lubrication maintenance.

DANGER!
• DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE CENTRE HUB TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY. The centre hub is only for servicing by an authorized qualified technician.
- If the blade or the unit is damaged in any way, unplug and stop using the unit immediately.
