About this appliance

The FR-9039 Tristar is an air fryer for grilling, baking, and roasting food using hot air without the use of oil.

Intended use

This appliance is intended for indoor use only.

This appliance is intended exclusively for domestic, non-commercial use.

This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

  • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
  • farm houses;
  • by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments;
  • bed and breakfast type environments.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

This appliance shall not be used by children aged less than 8 years. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless older than 8 and supervised.

The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote-control system.

Safety precautions

WARNING

Safety hazard due to unintended use:

  • Only use the appliance as described in this user manual.
  • By ignoring the safety instructions the manufacturer cannot be held responsible for the damage.
  • Never use the appliance if there are visible signs of damage or defects. Always replace a damaged or defective appliance immediately.
  • Never make any adjustments to the appliance. Adjustments may affect safety, warranty and proper operation.

Electric shock hazard due to short-circuiting:

- Never use the appliance if there are visible signs of damage or defects to the appliance or power cable. Always replace a damaged or defective appliance or power cable immediately or contact customer service.

• Always avoid spillage on the power cable.
- To protect yourself against an electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or appliance in the water or any other liquid.

  • Never drop the appliance and avoid bumping. Excessive vibrations can lead to loosened connections and can influence proper functioning of the appliance. Stop using the appliance if the appliance has been dropped.
  • Never use the appliance with an extension cable.

Fire hazard due to burnt food:

- Always clean all parts that come into contact with food after use.

- Never exceed the maximum level indicated on the inside of the basket.

CAUTION

Burning hazard due to heat:

- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

- Never touch the hot surfaces during or shortly after use. The hot surfaces may be subject to residual heat. Let the appliance cool down completely before handling the appliance.

Tripping hazard due to loose cables:

- Never leave the power cable hanging out in a way that someone might trip over it or accidentally pull it.

NOTICE

Risk of damaging the appliance:

  • The appliance must be placed on a stable, level surface.
  • Never use aggressive chemical cleaning agents that can damage the appliance when cleaning the appliance.
  • Only use the appliance with the provided accessories or accessories recommended by Tristar.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Take the appliance and accessories out the box. Remove the stickers, protective foil or plastic from the device.
  2. Wipe the inside and outside of the appliance with a moist cloth.
  3. Place the Airfryer rack inside the Basket.
  4. Place the removable grid in the basket properly.
  5. Place the appliance on a stable, horizontal and level surface, do not place the appliance on non-heat-resistant surfaces.
  6. When the device is turned on for the first time, a slight odour will occur. This is normal, ensure adequate ventilation. This fragrance is only temporary and will disappear soon.

Note: Do not use the device without Airfryer rack.

USE

Using the appliance

  • Put the main plug in an earthed wall socket.
    • PullthebasketA 4 outoftheairfryer
  • Put the ingredients in the basket.
  • SlidethebasketA ④ intotheairfryer
  • Presstheon/offbuttonA 8 to switch on the appliance.
  • Do not touch the basket during and some time after use, as it gets very hot. Only hold the basket by the handle.
  • Excess oil from the ingredients is collected on the bottom of the basket.
  • Confirm the required time and temperature for cooking the ingredients, press the button on the control panel to adjust the time and temperature to the required temperature and time for cooking the ingredients.
    • After the set time has expired the device will power off.
  • Some ingredients require shaking halfway through the preparation time. To shake the ingredients, pull the basketA 4 out of the appliance by the handle5 A and shake it. Then slide the basket back into the air fryer.
  • Check if the ingredients are ready. If the ingredients are not ready yet, simply slide the basket back into the appliance and set the timer to a few extra minutes.
    • Using the default setting
  • The default setting is Temperature 200°C / Time 15 minutes.
  • The temperature and remaining time will show in the display.
    • Using the manual setting
  • Press the temperature + B10 or temperature -11 B icon to program to the desired cooking temperature. The temperature will increase or decrease in 5°C increments.
  • The cooking temperature can be set between 80^ and 200^ .
  • Press the time + 13 and time-B 13 icon to set the desired cooking time. The time will increase or decrease in 1-minute increments.
  • The cooking time can be set between 1 and 60 minutes.
  • When the desired time and temperature are set, press the start/pause button B ^14 to start the operation.
  • Pressthedisplaylighton/offbuttonB 16 to turn the light on or off inside the appliance.
    • Preprogrammed programs
  • Pressthepre-setbuttonB 9 until the icon of the desired pre-set program flashes.
  • You can set a custom program. Press the manual mode button B ^26 and adjust the time and temperature. The function has a memory function. This means that it will remember the previously set time and temperature.

Tips

  • Shaking smaller ingredients halfway during the preparation time optimizes the end result and can help prevent unevenly fried ingredients.
  • Add some oil to fresh potatoes for a crispy result. Fry your ingredients in the air fryer within a few minutes after you've added the oil.
  • Do not prepare extremely greasy ingredients such as sausages in the air fryer.
  • Place the baking tin in the basket if you want to bake a cake or quiche or if you want to fry fragile ingredients or filled ingredients.
  • You can also use the air fryer to reheat ingredients. To reheat ingredients, set the temperature to 150^ C for up to 10 minutes.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Clean the appliance after each use.

  1. Unplug the power cable from the power outlet.
  2. Let the appliance cool down.
  3. Remove all the accessories from the appliance.
  4. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth. Never use harsh and abrasive cleaners, scouring pad or steel wool, which damages the appliance.
  5. Wash the fryer and airfryer rack with hot water, detergent and a non-abrasive sponge. You can use a degreaser to wash away any remaining dirt.
  6. If dirt sticks to the rack, or the bottom of the fryer, add hot water to the fryer and some detergent. Place the grill in the fryer and let the fryer and grill soak for about 10 minutes.
  7. Clean the heating element with a cleaning brush to sweep away food residue.
  8. Clean the inside of the product with hot water and a non-abrasive sponge.
  9. Dry all parts with a soft, dry cloth.

TROUBLESHOOTING

When the air fryer indicates an error message, first remove the plug from the socket, wait half an hour, and then plug it in again. If this does not solve the error message, please contact the after-sales service.
