Frequently Asked Questions - UT-6806 Vevor

How to properly install the UT-6806 ramp?
Place the ramp on the vehicle tailgate with the angled lip facing down. Attach a safety strap (not included) between the ramp and a solid anchor point inside the truck bed. Pull the ramp backward to tighten the strap. Ensure the lip rests fully on the tailgate.
What is the maximum weight supported by this ramp?
The maximum load capacity is 1500 lb (680 kg) per ramp. Never exceed it.
Can I use this ramp to load a car?
No, this ramp is designed for 2-wheel dirt bikes and 4-wheel ATVs, as well as lawn mowers. Do not use it for vehicles wider than the ramp or 3-wheel vehicles.
How to secure the ramp during loading?
Always use a safety strap attached to the ramp and a fixed point on the vehicle. Ensure the strap is tight to prevent the ramp from slipping. Also check that the lip is properly seated on the tailgate.
What material is the ramp made of?
The ramp is made of aluminum, making it lightweight and corrosion-resistant.
How to maintain the ramp after use?
Clean it with a damp cloth to remove dirt and oil, then dry completely. Store in a dry place. Periodically check the tightness of bolts and screws.
Is it safe to load a motorcycle alone?
It is highly recommended to have two or more people to load a motorcycle. One person guides the motorcycle up the ramp while another stands in the truck bed to stabilize the vehicle and apply the brake if needed.
Can I use two UT-6806 ramps together?
Yes, you can use two ramps side by side to load wider vehicles like an ATV. Ensure each ramp is properly secured and that the tires are centered on each ramp.
What if the ramp deforms?
This may indicate overloading. Check that the loaded weight does not exceed the maximum capacity. If deformation persists, stop using the ramp and contact Vevor technical support.

  6. Install and secure safety straps. An illustration of how to secure the safety is as follows: (Applicable only to UT-6806 models)

Place bench of ramps on tailgate of truck. Connect S-hook underneath truck bumper. Side rail of first ramp. Side rail of second ramp. Safety strap and loop. Safety strap. S-hook. Screw release buckle.

  1. ALWAYS attach safety strap(s). Make sure the strap is properly adjusted for length to prevent kickback of the loading ramp.
  2. Ensure the safety strap does not allow rearward movement of the loading ramp.

Motorcycle use:

  1. NEVER ride a Motorcycle or any other motorized equipment up or down, single runner loading ramp.
  2. Slowly push machine up the ramps MAKING SURE TIRES ARE CENTER ON THE RAMP AT ALL TIMES. (Two or more adult people are recommended loading)
  3. Acceleration must be slow, controlled and constant. The operator must remain in control of machinery at all times during loading and unloading.
  4. Use the brake as necessary to control your speed while unloading. Sudden erratic braking or accelerating will cause ramps to pull away from the tailgate trailer or even break the ramp.

ATV use:

  1. Always have a second adult to spot for the rider when loading.
  2. Slowly drive machine up the ramps MAKING SURE TIRES ARE CENTER ON THE RAMP AT ALL TIMES.

WARNING - NEVER EXCEED THE MAXIMUM LOAD CAPACITY OF THE RAMPS. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Failure to follow these procedures may result in damage to machinery, injury or death. The seller is not responsible for misuse or damages incurred during the use of the ramps.

3. Save these instructions

  1. The ramps will sit on the tailgate and both of the ramps must be dry. Check for and tighten any loose hardware.
  2. Sit the tongue (angled lip) of the ramps on the tailgate. The tongue edge faces down (see Assembly), and fully contacts the truck's tailgate. Extend the safety chains (not included) on each ramp up into the inside of the truck bed; attach safety chains to a secure attachment point on the truck chassis.
  3. Pull the loading ramps back until the chains are tight. The entire tongue of the ramps must fit onto the tailgate; if not, adjust the safety chains accordingly or shorter chains must be used.

Wheel ATV Loading and Unloading

Vevor UT-6806 - Wheel ATV Loading and Unloading - 1

WARNING

• These ramps are for use with 2-wheeled dirt bikes and 4-wheeled vehicles only. Do not use these ramps to load/unload 3-wheeled vehicles.

  • Do not use these ramps to load or unload any vehicle that is wider than the ramps.
  • Do not use these ramps to load or unload any vehicle that is carrying gear racks.
  • Do not use these ramps if the tailgate on the vehicle being loaded or unloaded is higher than half each ramp's length.

WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY: Riding an ATV while loading or unloading is dangerous and should not be attempted.

WARNING! Be aware of dynamic loading!

Sudden load movement may briefly create excess load causing the ramps to fail. WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY: All persons not involved in the process must stand clear of the ramps and truck. Make sure no pets are nearby.

Loading Using a Winch (not included)

  1. The winch and mounting connection points must all have appropriate capacity to pull the ATV up the ramps safely.
  2. ATV Mounted Winch Setup: Unwind cable from the winch and attach it to a secure mounting location on the truck, at the same height as the winch will be when the ATV has been loaded.
  3. Truck Mounted Winch Setup: Attach the cable to the bottom front part of the frame.
  4. While operating the winch, stand back and to the side of the ATV, with the vehicle between you and the winch cable.
  5. Operate the winch to slowly load the ATV onto the vehicle.

Unloading

WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS

INJURY: Riding an ATV while unloading is dangerous and should not be attempted.

  1. Have an assistant monitor the ramp tongues for slippage on the tailgate.
  2. Set up the ramps on the truck bed as explained under Operation. Remove down straps and securing equipment from the ATV.

WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS

INJURY: Be sure the 4-wheel ATV is centered on ramps.

  1. While staying off the ATV, start the engine, disengage the parking brake, put the transmission into reverse, and make sure the wheels are in a straight line with the ramps. While holding the brake, position yourself in front of the ATV.
  2. Release the brake and push on the ATV to get it started down the ramp. Allow the ATV to roll down naturally; do not attempt to steer it or apply the brake stops while on the ramps. Gently give it throttle to back it off the ramps.

2-Wheel Bike Loading

  1. Do not attempt to load any dirt bike or other 2-wheel motor bike alone. A qualified adult should assist.
  2. Line up the 2-wheel bike with one of the ramps.
  3. With one person pushing the bike slowly up the ramp, a helper should be in the bed of the hauling vehicle both to guide and to apply the brake if needed. Have one person with a hand on the hand brake for safety.
  4. Once the person inside the truck bed has hold of the handlebars, apply the brake and steady the bike while the other person moves behind the bike (to one side) and pushes it all the way into the truck bed.

NOTE: While most dirt bikes are light enough to safely load with two people, a third person can make the job easier and safer.

  1. Once the bike is safely loaded, secure it with four tie-down straps (not included): one on each side of the front, and one on each side at the rear of the bike.

2-Wheel Bike Unloading

  1. Position the ramp against the truck tailgate behind the rear tire of the bike and attach the safety chain to the truck bed.
  2. Remove the tie-down straps (not included).
