Dear kela customer,

We congratulate you on the purchase of your long-lasting quality product from kela. In order to have many years of enjoyment with it, please read the following product information and instructions for use and care, as well as the safety recommendations.

With it, you can quickly and easily prepare the finest raclettes and grilled dishes with meat, sausage and fish.

This product can be used by children from the age of eight (8) years and by persons with reduced limited, sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge, if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the product and understood the resulting dangers. Do not allow children to play with the product. Do not allow children to clean or maintain the product without supervision.

In your own interest, please read the operating instructions before using the equipment for the first time and heed all danger warnings and safety information below. This will help to prevent accidents and technical faults. Keep the documents in a safe place near the appliance. Make sure that the documents are passed on to others with the appliance.

DANGER WARNINGS AND SAFETY INFORMATION

Keep the fold-in section of the cover open while reading these instructions. It contains the illustrations of components referred to in the text. The numbered warning symbols on the fold-in cover show information which is important for your safety.

1 Never put the appliance into operation if there is visible damage to the mains cable.

2 Do not place this electrical appliance on heat-sensitive, hot or flammable surfaces.
3 Do not hold the appliance under running water or immerse it in water.
4 Do not use pointed or sharp utensils or cut on the surface of the appliance.
5 Do not pinch the mains cable.
6 Never use the appliance if it is defective or damaged, and do not try to repair it yourself. The appliance must be repaired by qualified specialist personnel.
7 The electrical appliance may only be connected to a properly installed power socket with a mains voltage corresponding to the technical data for the device.
8 Pull the mains plug out of the socket.
9 Observe the safety distances to ensure adequate ventilation of the appliance and always place it on a heat-resistant surface.
10 Never cover the appliance.

SAFETY REGULATIONS

Never bring live components into contact with water. Do not connect the device to the mains until the granite plate (a) is lying securely on the holders (e).

USE

This appliance is designed exclusively for private use. Any misuse gives rise to risks and is therefore strictly prohibited! We can accept no liability for any

damage caused if the appliance is put to any other use than that intended or if it is operated incorrectly.

Use only original accessories or accessories expressly recommended by the manufacturer. The use of non-approved accessories may lead to damage.

USER

The appliance may only be used by persons familiar with the content of these operating instructions.

Persons under the influence of alcohol or medication and children may only use the appliance under supervision.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN

Never allow children near the electrical appliance unless they are supervised.

ELECTRIC SHOCKS (7)

Be careful never to touch live components. Electric shocks can cause serious or even fatal injury. For this reason, the electrical appliance may only be connected to a properly installed power socket with a mains voltage corresponding to the technical data for the device (see type plate on the appliance and the section Technical data in the instructions for use).

MAINS CABLE (1, 2, 5, 8)

In the event of a damaged mains cable, it can be replaced with a standard heating appliance supply cable as the cable is easy to remove. Do not pinch the mains cable, and protect it against contact with hot objects. Pull the mains plug out of the socket if you are not using the appliance for some time, if malfunctions occur and before cleaning it. Never pull on the cable to pull the mains plug or pull the plug with wet hands.

Place the appliance on a level, stable and heat-resistant surface and make sure that it is dry and out of the reach of children. Choose a location where heat can escape freely and where there is adequate ventilation. Never leave the mains cable hanging down. Someone could pull the appliance down and injure themselves. Do not use the appliance outdoors and keep it away from sources of heat and naked flames. Exercise particular caution when moving the electrical appliance.

Never connect the appliance to the mains until it is fully assembled. Do not hang cloths etc. over the appliance to dry.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE (3, 4, 8)

Use kitchen roll to remove the remaining cooking oil from the granite plate (a) while it is still lukewarm. Rinse the granite plate (a) with water and dry it using kitchen roll. Then brush the plate with a little cooking oil. Do not use steel wool, wire brushes or abrasive cleaning agents!

Note: Granite is a natural material. Do not rinse the hot granite plate with cold water, as the sudden change in temperature could cause the plate to crack. Also avoid banging or striking the granite plate. The pans (g) and raclette spatulas (g) can be cleaned using water and a little standard washing-up liquid. If they are heavily soiled, leave them to soak in cold water for about 30 minutes before cleaning them.

Caution: Never immerse the electrical appliance in water and never hold it under running water.

REPAIR (6, 8)

Pull the mains plug out of the socket immediately if you suspect a technical defect. Take the appliance to your nearest repair shop and have it checked. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage as a result of incorrect handling of the appliance.

Caution: Tampering with the appliance can lead to serious danger for the user.

POWER CONNECTION (1, 6, 7) If not handled correctly, electricity can cause fatal injuries. Connect the electrical appliance to a properly installed power socket with a mains voltage corresponding to the technical data for the device. Never use a defective mains cable. If the mains cable is damaged, please contact the repair service. Only use extension cables which are in perfect condition.

COMMISSIONING AND OPERATION

An electric shock can be fatal! Please comply with the safety regulations.

Unpack the appliance and wipe all parts off with a damp cloth. Place the base (c) on a level, stable and heat-resistant surface. Place the granite plate (a) on the holder (e) and plug the mains cable (h) into the socket. Pre-heat the appliance - without the pans - for approx. 10 minutes by actuating the rotary switch (i). The status lamp (k) lights up, showing that the device is heating up.

Note: Smoke may develop briefly when the device is heated for the first time. This is perfectly normal and no cause for concern. Make sure the room is adequately ventilated!

The device is now ready for use. Fill the pans to taste. Before grilling meat with a low fat content or vegetables, brush them with a little cooking oil before placing them on the granite plate (a). Meat with a normal fat content will cook in its own juices.

You can influence the cooking or melting process by turning the power regulator (i) (MIN = lower setting, MAX = higher setting). Enjoy your meal!

Only use the wooden raclette spatulas (g) supplied so that the pans (g) are not damaged.

PACKAGING MATERIAL

Do not simply throw the packaging material away. Recycle it. Paper, cardboard and corrugated cardboard packaging belongs in the paper bank, plastic packaging components and film in the corresponding recycling bin.

DISPOSAL

At the end of their service life, appliances must be rendered unusable. Separate the mains cable from the appliance.

Do not dispose of the appliance with the household waste. Take it to a communal collection point (recycling centre) for electrical and electronic appliances, where it will be disposed of free of charge, or return it to your dealer
