Frequently Asked Questions - CBGHD-60 Vollrath

How to install the CBGHD-60 appliance?
Installation must be carried out by a qualified installer in accordance with local codes. A minimum clearance of 15 cm (6 in) is required at the rear. Legs of 10 cm (4 in) are mandatory for ventilation. Connect the gas with the supplied regulator, respecting the maximum pressure of ½ psi.
How to convert the appliance from natural gas to propane?
Conversion must be performed by a qualified technician. Use the included conversion kit. Follow the kit instructions and refer to the International Fuel Gas Code for the correct orifice diameter.
How to clean the grill plate?
Clean daily: scrub hot grates (300 °F/148 °C) with a grill brush. Do not use steel wool or soap on the cooking surface. Empty and clean the drip tray. Apply a thin film of food-grade oil to prevent corrosion.
What to do in case of gas odor?
Immediately close the gas supply valve, ventilate the area and do not use any electrical switches. Do not attempt to light the burner. Call a qualified maintenance technician.
How to light the pilot light?
Wait 5 minutes after an outage to dissipate gas. Hold a flame source above the desired burner and gently turn the pilot adjustment screw counterclockwise to adjust the flame. Close the panel after lighting.
How to adjust the pilot light intensity?
The pilot must ignite the main burner within 4 seconds. Use a flathead screwdriver to turn the slotted brass screw: clockwise to decrease, counterclockwise to increase.
How often should the drip tray be emptied?
Empty the drip tray periodically to avoid overflow. Check it often and add water if necessary to reduce flare-ups.
How to replace the lava stone?
Turn the stones periodically. Replace them when the surface is no longer porous. Do not use the appliance with a worn griddle plate, this reduces performance and increases the risk of flare-ups.
Can the appliance be used without the legs?
No. Using without the 10 cm (4 in) legs may cause overheating and fire. The legs provide necessary ventilation for safe operation.
Where to find spare parts for model CBGHD-60?
Spare parts are available on the official website Vollrath.com. Contact Vollrath technical service for any repairs; never attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
