Reading and storing the user manual

This user manual belongs to this egg cooker (referred to as the "product" below). It contains important information on how to set up and use the device.
Read the user manual carefully, in particular the safety instructions, before using the product. Failure to follow this user manual may lead to severe injuries or product damage.
This user manual is based on the standards and regulations that are valid within the European Union. Outside the EU, please also note the country-specific directives and laws.
Keep this user manual for future reference. If you pass this product on to a third party, you must also supply this user manual.
Intended use
This product is exclusively intended to cook eggs in standard household quantities.
This product is intended for private use, or applications similar to household use, such as:
- In kitchenettes in shops, offices and other workplaces;
- On farms;
- By hotel, motel or other accommodation-type customers;
In bed and breakfasts.
Only use the product as described in this user manual. Any other use is considered improper and may result in damage to property or persons. The product is not a children's toy.
The manufacturer or vendor cannot be held liable for damages or injury incurred through improper or incorrect use.

Faulty electric installation or excess mains voltage can cause an electric shock.

Only connect the power cable if the mains voltage of the socket matches the information shown on the rating plate.

Only connect the power cable to an easily accessible socket so that you can quickly disconnect it from the mains power in the event of a malfunction.
- Do not use the product if there is visible damage or if the power cable/mains plug is defective.
- If the power cable of the product is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the manufacturer's customer service or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent hazards.
- Do not open the product; have repairs performed by qualified experts. Contact the service address indicated on the warranty card. No liability is assumed and warranty claims shall be excluded in the case of unauthorised repairs, improper connection or incorrect operation.
- When repairing, only use parts that correspond to the original product data. There are electrical and mechanical parts in this product to protect you from danger sources.
- Do not operate the product by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
- Do not immerse the product, power cable or mains plug in water or other liquids.
- Do not spill any liquids onto the mains plug or the power cable.
- Never touch the power plug with wet hands.
- Never pull the power cable out of the socket by the cord; always grip the plug instead.
- Never use the power cable as a carry handle.
- Keep the product and the power cable away from open flames and hot surfaces.

Install the power cable so that no-one can trip over it.

Do not bend the power cable and do not pass it over sharp edges.
- Only use the product in indoor rooms. Never operate it in damp rooms or in the rain.
- Never store or use the product where it can fall into a tub or sink. Do not use the product if it has fallen into water.
- Never reach for the product if it falls into water. Disconnect the product from the mains immediately.
- Make sure that children do not insert objects into the product.
- If you are not using the product, are cleaning it, or in the event of a malfunction, always turn the product off and pull the mains plug out of the socket.
- Always disconnect the product from the mains before assembling it or taking it apart.

Hot steam emerges from the product during use. Parts of the product get hot.
- Hot steam emerges from the steam outlets! Ensure a sufficient safety distance. Do not touch the hot steam.
- Do not touch the hot parts of the product with your bare fingers during use. Always use insulated oven mitts or pot holders when touching the product and its accessories. Also point out the hazards to other users.
- Note that hot steam might still emerge from the product and individual parts might still be hot after it has been turned off. Always let the product cool down completely before cleaning it or putting it away.

Improper handling of the product can damage the product.
- Operate the product on an easily accessible, level, dry, heat resistant and sufficiently stable work surface. Never place the product on the edge of the work surface.
- To avoid a build-up of heat, do not position the product directly against a wall or under wall-mounted cabinets or similar. The emerging steam can damage furniture.
- Never place the product on or near hot surfaces (stove tops, etc.) and never expose the product to high temperatures (heaters, etc.) or to bad weather (rain, etc.).
- Do not let the power cable come into contact with hot parts.
- Never pour oil, water or other liquids into the product.
- Never immerse the product in water to clean it, and do not use a steam cleaner. This can damage the product.
- Never wash the product in the dishwasher. This would destroy it.
- Stop using the product if any of its components are cracked or deformed. Only replace damaged components with matching original spare parts.
- Rubber feet are attached to the bottom of the product. Furniture and floor surfaces can be made from a wide variety of materials and are also treated with a diverse range of care products. There is therefore a possibility that some of these materials may contain substances that could attack and soften the rubber feet. Place an anti-slip mat beneath the product if necessary.
- Clean the surfaces that come into contact with food as described in the section "Cleaning and care".

NOTE!

If opening the packaging with a sharp knife or other pointed object, be careful to avoid damaging the product's surface.

Proceed carefully with opening the packaging.

Take the product out of the packaging.
- Check that the delivery is complete (see chapter "Lieferumfang").
- Inspect the product and individual parts for damage. Do not operate a damaged product, instead, contact the manufacturer via the service center listed on the warranty card.
Initial cleaning
- Remove the packaging and all protective film.
- Before using the product for the first time, clean all its parts as described in the section "Cleaning and care".
Setting up the product
Place the product on a level and stable surface. The surface should be easy to clean, well lit and easy to access.

Place an anti-slip mat beneath the product if necessary.
Cooking eggs
You can cook up to 6 chicken eggs with this product. The cooking time and the hardness of the eggs depend on the added water quantity.
In principle: the less water you add, the shorter the cooking time and the softer the egg or eggs. As soon as the added water has evaporated, the eggs are done and an acoustic signal sounds.
In the following section "Cooking times", you will find reference cooking times.
However, these depend on the size of the eggs.

Preparing eggs for cooking
CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
An egg pricker is located on the bottom of the measuring cup.

Be careful when pricking eggs. Put the protective cap back onto the egg pricker straight away after pricking eggs.

Place the egg tray 2 onto the water basin 3.
- Use the measuring cup 6 to fill the water basin 3 with the required quantity of cold water. The required water quantity depends on the number of eggs (max. 6) and the desired hardness of the egg: soft, medium or hard. Use the corresponding scale on the measuring cup 6 to measure the correct water quantity.
- Take the protective cap off the egg pricker 5.
- Use the egg pricker 5 to poke a hole into the bottom of the eggs so that they do not burst while cooking.
- Place the eggs in the egg tray 2 with the holes on top.
- Put the protective cap back onto the egg pricker 5.
- Put the cover 1 onto the product.

The product gets hot when in use. Steam also emerges through the opening in the cover.
- Only touch the product and its parts with a pot holder or similar.
- Protect yourself against the hot steam.
NOTE!
Risk of damage!
Improper assembly can damage the product.

Only operate the product with water in the water basin. Otherwise you might damage the product.
-
Only operate the product with the supplied accessories.
-
Prepare the eggs and the product as described in the section "Preparing eggs for cooking".
- Plug the mains plug 8 into a properly installed socket.
- Press the ON/OFF button 4 to start cooking. The indicator lamp lights up blue. As soon as the water has completely evaporated, an acoustic signal sounds and the indicator light goes off. The cooking process is finished and the eggs are ready.
- Press the ON/OFF button 4 again to switch the product off. Pull the mains plug 8 out of the socket.
- Pick up the egg tray 2 by the handles and take it off together with the cover 1 so that you do not come into contact with the hot steam emerging from the steam outlets 7.
- Take the cover 1 by the handles and lift it off. Now place the cover 1 on a heat-proof surface.
- Hold the egg tray 2 under cold running water to cool the eggs down.

- If you do not cool the eggs down, they will keep hardening. This makes it difficult to shell them later on.
- If you cook eggs several times in succession with the egg cooker, always let it cool down a few minutes in between.
Cleaning and care
WARNING!
Danger of burns!
The product gets hot when in use. Steam also emerges through the opening in the cover.
- Always pull the mains plug and let the product and all its components cool down completely before cleaning.
CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
The egg pricker on the bottom of the measuring cup has a sharp point.
- Be careful when cleaning the measuring cup. It might prick you.
NOTE!
Risk of short circuit!
If water or other liquids enter the housing, they can cause a short circuit.
- Do not immerse the product, power cable or mains plug in water or other liquids.
- Make sure that no water or other liquid gets inside the housing.
NOTE!
Risk of damage!
Improper assembly can damage the product.
- Do not use any aggressive cleaners, sharp or metallic cleaning utensils such as knives, hard scrapers or similar items. These could damage the surfaces.
- Never wash the product in the dishwasher. This would destroy it.
Cleaning the parts
Clean the individual parts of the product as follows:
- Clean the water basin 3 with mild detergent and a soft sponge. Make sure that water does not penetrate the inside of the product.
- Wipe down the outside of the product housing with a slightly damp, soft cloth.
- Clean the cover 1, egg tray 2 and measuring cup 6 in warm dishwashing detergent.
Removing scale from the water basin
Scale can accumulate on the water basin 3 over time. You can remove this as follows:
- Prepare a mixture of one full measuring cup 6 of water and one tablespoon vinegar or citric acid and pour this into the water basin 3.
- Insert the mains plug 8 into a socket and switch the product on. As soon as the water cooks, switch the device off and pull the mains plug 8 out of the socket. Let the product and the vinegar or citric acid solution cool down.
- Discard the vinegar or citric acid solution and thoroughly wipe down the water basin 3. Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents.
Storage
Allow the product to cool down completely. All parts must be completely clean and dry before they are put away.
- Always store the product in a dry place.
- Protect the product from direct sunlight.
- Store the product out of the reach of children, in a safe place and at a storage temperature between 5^ and 20^ (room temperature).

Disposal
Disposing of the packaging
Sort the packaging before you dispose of it. Dispose of paperboard and cardboard with the recycled paper service and wrappings with the appropriate collection service.
Dispose of old electrical device

Old electrical devices may not be disposed of as household waste! If the product cannot be used anymore, each consumer is obligated by law to dispose of old devices separately from household waste, e.g. at a municipal/city district collection point. It is thereby ensured that old devices are professionally recycled and negative effects on the
environment are avoided. Therefore, electrical devices are marked with the above symbol.
GARANTIE
For a period of three years from the date of purchase, we guarantee the remedy of defects that are due to material and production faults free of charge by means of exchange.
Warranty claims must be submitted immediately once the defect arises. Warranty claims after expiration of the warranty period are excluded. In case of a warranty, return the defective device to the service centre together with the completed warranty slip, stating the reason for the complaint.
The warranty will be void in the case of improper or incorrect use, non-observation of the information provided in the user manual for the device, brute force, force majeure or any work on the device that was not carried out by our authorised specialist shops.
