Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

The appliance must only be connected to a properly installed power socket with an earth connection.

The mains voltage must correspond to the voltage specified on the type plate of the appliance.

This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions

- In order to avoid hazards, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power

cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please contact our customer service by phone or e-mail (see separate warranty statement).

• Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.

• Electric heating appliances become very hot during operation and can cause burns if touched. Therefore, only hold them by the handle.
  • Make sure you place the appliance on a heat-resistant, stable and level surface when using it.

• Risk of burns! The appliance must be kept out of reach of children under 8 years of age, especially during or after use.

• This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age) and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.
  • Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
  • Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or maintenance work on the appliance

unless they are supervised.

WARNING! This

symbol indicates that the appliance must not be used near bathtubs, shower trays, washbasins or other vessels filled with water.

• In the vicinity of any water source, there is a risk even when the appliance is switched off. Therefore, always remove the plug from the wall socket after use, especially if the appliance is being used in a bathroom.
  • Additional protection is available by fitting an earth-leakage circuit-breaker with a rated tripping current not exceeding 30mA into your bathroom installation. Please consult a qualified electrician.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when plugged

in or in use.

- Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.

- Protect the appliance from moisture and splashing water and do not operate it with wet hands.

- Electric heating appliances operate at very high temperatures. Do not touch any part of the appliance except the grip. Otherwise there is a real risk of burning.

- Do not use the appliance on synthetic hairpieces or wigs, as the heat can damage the fibres.

- Do not use hairsprays containing flammable substances when using the appliance.

- A blockage in the air-flow system may cause the integral thermal safety cut-out to switch off the appliance. Should this occur, immediately disconnect the appliance from the mains power and allow sufficient time for it to cool down before the blockage is removed and the appliance is switched on again.

- Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.

- To avoid damaging the power cord, do not:

- do not bend or kink the cable, especially where it leaves the housing, - do not pull on the cord,

- do not coil the power cord around the appliance.

- Always switch off and remove the plug from the wall socket after use, and also in the event of any malfunction.

- When unplugging the appliance, always pull the plug and not the cord.

- No responsibility will be accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.

- The appliance is not intended for commercial use.

The IONIC function

The IONIC function facilitates gentle, easy hair styling by preventing a static charge in the hair. It uses the build-up of a negative ‘ion-cloud’ to prevent ‘flyaway’ hair caused by a positive charge.

The IONIC function activates automatically.

Styling nozzle

Fit the concentrator onto the air outlet. It is held firmly in place by a magnet and enables precise styling.

Diffuser

Fit the diffuser onto the air outlet. It is held firmly in place by a magnet and provides gentle drying, volume and a natural look for curly hair.

Move the diffuser with a slightly circular motion over the head.

Temperature controller

• The temperature controller regulates the temperature of the air coming out of the appliance.
• Control levels:

Low/Medium/High heat

- The more LEDs light up, the higher the temperature.

Speed controller

• The speed controller regulates the amount of air coming out of the appliance.
• Control levels:

Low/Medium/High speed

- The more LEDs light up, the higher the speed.

Cool function

The cool function can be used at any time during the drying process. It will supply cooler air, which helps styling the hair.

Operation

• Put on the desired attachment.
• Plug in the hair dryer and set the on/off switch to position I.
• The last selected setting for the hair dryer will be applied.
• Use the switches to select the desired heat and speed setting and style the hair as desired.
  • After use, set the on/off switch to position O and unplug the appliance.

Cleaning and care

• Before cleaning the hair dryer, remove the plug from the wall socket and let the appliance cool down completely.
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the hair dryer with water nor immerse it in water.
• Wipe the hairdryer clean with a dry, lint-free cloth if necessary.
  • Always check the air intake openings for accumulated lint particles or hair and - if necessary - remove any found.
  • To make cleaning easier, remove the grille from the air intake as follows:
• Press firmly in the centre of the cover on the back of the appliance and remove the cover.
• Fold open the bracket on the inside and remove the grille.
• Brush or rinse the grille.
• Leave the grille to dry thoroughly, refit it and replace the cover.

Never operate the hair dryer without the grille in place!

Disposal

Devices marked with this symbol must be disposed of separately from your household waste, as they contain valuable materials which can be recycled. Proper disposal protects the environment and human health. Your local authority or retailer can provide information on the matter.
