Frequently Asked Questions - SS-5317 Sogo

What should I do if the toaster emits smoke the first time I use it?
It's normal for a new toaster to emit some smoke during first use. This is from burning off manufacturing residues. Run the appliance empty for a few minutes in a well-ventilated area before using it with bread.
How to clean the crumb tray?
Pull the crumb tray (drawer) located at the bottom of the toaster using the handle, empty the crumbs, and put it back. Make sure it is properly inserted before using the appliance. Never use the toaster without the crumb tray.
Can I toast frozen bread?
Yes, you can toast frozen bread. Place the frozen slices on the grill and press the switch. Toasting time will be longer than for fresh bread. Monitor cooking to avoid burning the bread.
Why does my toaster get very hot on the outside?
The metal panels of the toaster become hot during operation. This is normal. Always use the handle to operate the appliance and do not touch metal surfaces. Let it cool before cleaning.
What to do if a slice of bread gets stuck?
Unplug the toaster immediately and let it cool. Never use sharp metal utensils to remove the bread, as they could damage the heating elements. Use wooden or plastic tongs or gently turn the appliance upside down to let the bread fall out.
The power cord is short, can I use an extension cord?
Using an extension cord is not recommended. If necessary, ensure the extension cord has at least equivalent electrical ratings (220-240 V, 300 W) and place it to avoid tripping hazards.
How to clean the exterior of the toaster?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Clean the exterior with a non-abrasive damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals. Never immerse the appliance in water.
Can I melt cheese or toast sandwiches?
This toaster is designed for toasting bread slices. It is not suitable for melting cheese or toasting filled sandwiches. Do not place food wrapped in aluminum foil, as this could cause a fire.
What is the power of this toaster?
The Sogo SS-5317 toaster has a power of 300 W and operates under a voltage of 220-240 V at 50 Hz.
How to use the toaster for the first time?
Remove all packaging. Place the toaster on a flat, stable, dry surface. Properly install the crumb tray. Plug in the appliance and run it empty for a few minutes (slight smoke may appear). Then, place the bread slices on the grill, press the switch, and turn the bread when one side is toasted.
