How to install the Intellinet 561822 switch?

Place the switch on a stable flat surface, leaving at least 25 mm of space around for ventilation. Attach the provided rubber feet to the bottom corners. Connect the power adapter to the back and turn it on. Connect your network devices to the RJ45 or SFP ports. The PWR LED should light up.

What devices can I connect to the PoE ports?

Ports 1 to 4 provide PoE power according to IEEE 802.3at/af standards. You can connect IP cameras, VoIP phones, Wi-Fi access points, etc., that are PoE compatible. Make sure your device supports PoE (Power over Ethernet).

How do I know if a PoE device is powered?

The corresponding PoE LED (green) lights up when the connected device is properly powered. If it remains off, check the cable and the device's compatibility with the switch's PoE standard.

What should I do if the PWR LED does not light up?

Make sure the power adapter is correctly connected to the switch and a working power outlet. Check that the power cord is not damaged. If the problem persists, contact technical support.

Can I use crossover or straight-through cables?

Yes, thanks to the Auto-MDI/MDI-X feature, all RJ45 ports automatically detect the cable type (straight or crossover). So you can use either UTP/STP Cat5e or Cat6 cables.

How do I ground the switch?

On the back of the switch there is a grounding screw. Use a grounding cable to connect this terminal to a suitable grounding point (e.g., a ground bar). This protects the equipment against external electrical surges.

What is the maximum cabling distance?

For RJ45 connections, the maximum distance is 100 meters between the switch and the network device. For the SFP link, the distance depends on the SFP module used (fiber or copper).

Does the switch get hot?

The switch uses passive cooling (no fan). It may become warm to the touch during normal operation, especially if several PoE ports are powering devices. Make sure it is placed in a ventilated area away from heat sources.

How do I clean the switch?

First unplug the power. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the surface. Never use chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as they could damage the case.

LEDs

The LED indicators make it easier to monitor the switch and its connections. NOTE: Ports 1 – 4 can provide power to a connected powered device, and all powered devices should comply with IEEE 802.3at/af.

cables to connect the RJ45 ports to PCs, routers, hubs, other switches, etc. Cat5e/6 UTP/STP cables provide optimal performance; if a status LED doesn't indicate a link or activity, check the corresponding device for proper setup and operation.

Power

Use the included power cord and adapter to connect the device (on the rear panel) to an AC outlet. Confirm that the PWR LED on the front panel is lit.

Installation

Prior to use, it is recommended that the switch be placed/positioned:

• on a level surface that can support the weight of the switch;
• with at least 25 mm (approx. 1") of clearance for ventilation;
  • away from sources of electrical noise: radios, transmitters, broadband amplifiers, etc.;
• within 100 m (approx. 328') of network devices it's to be connected to.

Attach the rubber feet to the bottom of each corner of the switch to increase stability.
