3. Liability and Warranty

• Any deviation from the intended use and/or any misapplication of the tool is not allowed and will be considered as improper use.
• Any claims against the manufacturer and/or its authorized agents because of damage caused by improper use of the tool are void.
• Any personal injury or material losses caused by improper use of the tool are the sole responsibility of the operator and user.

4. Spare Parts

• Only use the manufacturer's original spare parts.
• Unsuitable or defective spare parts may cause damage, malfunction or total failure of the tool.
• The use of unapproved spare parts will void all warranty, service and liability claims as well as all claims for compensation against the manufacturer or its agents, distributors and sales representatives.

5. Disposal

- For disposal, clean tool and disassemble it according to the regulations for work safety and environmental protection. Components can be recycled.

HAZET - environmental protection is of fundamental importance for us.

This paragraph gives an overview of important security advice to help to ensure the optimal protection of the personnel as well as the safe and trouble-free operation of the tool.

Additionally, the different chapters contain security advice that is marked with symbols in order to avert immediate danger. Furthermore, all stickers and labels on the tool must be observed and kept legible.

1. General Aspects

• This tool was developed and manufactured according to the technical norms and standards valid at the time and is considered to be operationally reliable.
  Nevertheless, the tool can present a danger when it is not used as intended or in an inappropriate way by unqualified personnel. Please make sure that any person using this tool or carrying out maintenance work carefully reads these operating instructions and fully understands all information given, before using the tool.
• Any modification of the tool is strictly forbidden.
• All security advices, warning and operation notices on the tool have to be kept legible. Replace all damaged labels or stickers.
• All indications concerning setting values and setting ranges must be observed.

2. User's / Owner's Liability

• Keep the operating instructions together with the tool at all times.
• The tool must only be used if it is in good working order. If damages are visible, the tool is to be put out of operation and checked.
• All safety equipment, e.g. fire extinguisher etc., must always be within reach and should be checked regularly.
• In addition to the safety advice given in these operating instructions, the general safety regulations, regulations for the prevention of accidents and regulations for environmental protection being valid for the application area of this tool have to be observed and respected.

3. AppropriateUse

Operational reliability can only be ensured, if the tool is used as intended and in compliance with the indications given in the operating instructions. Always ensure that the tools are used, inspected and maintained in compliance with the respective local, state, national or federal regulations.

• The HAZET Universal Axle and Slotted Nut Wrench is used for removal and installation of axle and slotted nuts of the sizes 35-170 mm. Max. torque 700 Nm.
  • Overloading may cause the failure of the tool and therefore cause personal injury or damage to property.
• Do not exceed the maximum load.
• The improper use of the HAZET Universal Axle and Slotted Nut Wrench or the disregard of the safety advice may cause severe injury or death.
• Any deviation from the intended use and/or any misapplication of the tool is not allowed and will be considered as improper use.
• Any claims against the manufacturer and/or its authorized agents because of damage caused by improper use of the tool will be void.
• Any personal injury or material losses caused by improper use are the sole responsibility of the operator and user.

4. Storage

The tool has to be stored according to the following conditions:

• Keep tool in a dry and dust-free place.
• Do not expose the tool to liquids or aggressive substances.
• Do not store the tool outdoors.
• Keep the tool out of reach of children.
• Storage temperature: 0°C up to +40°C with low air humidity.

5. Dangers emanating from the tool

Before each use, check the HAZET Tool for full functional efficiency. Do not use the tool if its functional efficiency cannot be ensured or if damage is detected. If the tool is used, when it is not in full working order, you risk severe injuries to persons and damage to property.

• Any service or repair work must be carried out by qualified personnel only. In order to guarantee long term operational safety, only original spare parts of the manufacturer must be used.
• Do not remove any safety devices and/or housing parts.
• Do not operate the tool, if safety covers or safety devices are missing or defective.
• For safety reasons any modification of HAZET tools is strictly forbidden. Any modification of the tool will result in immediate exclusion from warranty and liability.
• Keep children away from tools. Unattended tools could be used by unauthorized persons and injure them or other persons.
• Pay attention to the loading. The maximum load must be equal to or below the author - ized load. The operated nuts must be able to absorb the load.
  • Overloading may cause the failure of the system and therefore cause personal injury or damage to property.

• Only use spare parts, attachments and accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer.

• The tool must only be used if it is in good working order.
  • Always keep the working area clean, well ventilated and well lit.

• Do not use the tool under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Any repair-work must be carried out by authorized persons only.
• Make sure that there is no unauthorized person nel and/or unnecessary devices in your working area.

3. Prior to Operation

Universal Axle and Slotted Nut Wrench have to be used, inspected and maintained with the respective local, state, national or federal regulations.

• Prior to using the HAZET Universal Axle and Slotted Nut Wrench must be checked for damages and if the tool is not in a consistently impeccable condition, put it out of operation.
• Choose an appropriate drive tool with 20 mm external square (for example Reversible Ratchet with Handle Bar HAZET 1016/2). Provide a support for operation (for example HAZET 217-3/2 Jack Stand).

4. Operation

• Keep these instructions. Read and follow the information given for your own safety.
  Make sure that the user knows about the risks which may occur while using this product.
• Follow the instructions of the respective car manufacturer.
• Prior to operation, make sure that the tools are in correct position to avoid damages of vehicle parts.

4.1 Operation of axle nuts (installation / removal)

• Secure the vehicle from rolling away.
• Adjust the basic appliance to the size of the axle nut by using the spindle.

It is not possible to operate conical axle nuts.

- Fasten the safety chain (if needed by the use of the extension chain) to fix the jaws of the basic appliance as well. At this the gripping mechanism is to be operated by the hexagon screw size 6 (see illustration ① and ②)

• Install / remove the axle nut.

4.2 Operation of slotted nuts (installation / removal)

• Secure the vehicle from rolling away.
• Fix an appropriate adapter to the jaws of the basic appliance by using the fixing screws. (see illustration ⑥ and ⑦)

- Adjust the basic appliance to the size of the slotted nut by using the spindle.

• Install / remove the slotted nut.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

The threaded spindle is to be lubricated before each use

Indicate the HAZET article number when ordering spare parts and accessories.

Maintenance

• Always keep the Universal Axle and Slotted Nut Wrench clean, regularly check it for corrosion and if necessary, clean it with an oily cloth.
• Only use spare parts recommended by the manufacturer, otherwise the warranty will be void.
• Repair work must only be carried out by the manufacturer or by qualified personnel, using the original spare parts.
• When disposing of components, lubricants, etc., please take care that the valid regulations for environmental protection are observed.
• For cleaning the tool or its components, we recommend to use an oily cloth.
• Do not use solvents or acids, esters (organic compounds of acids, esters (organic compounds of acids and alcohol), acetone (ketone), chlorinated hydrocarbons or nitrocarbonic oils to clean the tool. Do not use chemicals with a low flashing point.
• For after sales service, please contact your retailer/distributor.
