How to install and configure the V-TAC VT-5001 socket?

Download the V-TAC Smart Home app, create an account, then press and hold the button on the socket (5 seconds) until the indicator flashes. In the app, press '+' and follow the instructions to connect your Wi-Fi.

What to do if the socket cannot connect to the app?

Make sure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz (5 GHz is not supported). Reset the socket by holding the button for 10 seconds, then try pairing again in compatible mode if necessary.

Can I control the socket with Amazon Alexa or Google Home?

Yes, enable the V-TAC Smart Home skill in the Alexa app or link your account in Google Home. Then discover the device and use voice commands like 'Alexa, turn on the socket'.

How to set a timer or schedule?

In the V-TAC Smart Home app, tap on the socket name, then on Timer or Schedule. Set the on/off times and repetition (daily, weekly).

Can I share access to the socket with another user?

Yes, in the app, select the Share function and add the other person's email address. They will also need to have the V-TAC Smart Home app.

What is the maximum power supported by the socket?

The socket supports up to 3680 W (16 A) at 230 V. Do not exceed this limit to avoid overload risks.

Is the socket compatible with a light dimmer?

No, this socket is designed for on/off use. It is not compatible with dimmers. Use it with standard appliances.

How to reset the socket to factory settings?

Hold the socket button for about 10 seconds until the indicator flashes rapidly. The socket then returns to pairing mode.

What to do if the indicator does not flash when entering pairing mode?

Make sure the socket is properly plugged in and powered on. If the problem persists, perform a factory reset (see previous question). If nothing works, contact V-TAC support.

Does the socket work without an Internet connection?

No, it requires an active Wi-Fi connection and the app for remote control. However, after configuration, schedules are saved locally.

Step 1: Open the V-TAC Smart Home App and register. If you already have an existing account with V-TAC Smart Home, please proceed to logging in.

Step 3: Make sure your Smart device is powered ON

1) Tap and hold on the power button for 5 seconds to make the device available in pairing mode. Once in pairing mode the LED will start blinking 3 times repeatedly.
2) Tap on Next to start the pairing of device with the app. (Shown in the image)

Note: If you are facing any trouble while pairing in Quick Pairing mode please try to pair the device in Compatible Pairing Mode (Click on the link as shown on the image).

Step 4: Select your Wifi name and enter the password and tap on Next.
Step 5: Give a name to your device (Ex: Smart Plug/ smart switch) & tap on complete.

Step 6: Your device is now paired and will appear (Ex: as shown in the below image).
a) To turn the device ON/OFF tap on the ON/OFF icon(as shown in the below image).
b) To enter more settings of the Smart device tap on the Name(Ex: Smart Plug as shown below)

Step 7: V-TAC SMART HOME offers multiple features such as;

a) Share - This function allows you to share the access with another user.

b) Schedule: Schedule timer allows you to turn the device ON/OFF with flexibility of choosing date and time. This feature also allows Repeat mode using which you can set the desired configuration to daily OR any day of the week.

c) Timer : Timer function allows you to set "day-hour-minute" using which you can schedule the device to Turn ON/OFF

Note: Discovering the device must be done every time the device's name is changed on the app.

Now, you can control your smart device using voice commands on Alexa. Below are few example commands on how to use Alexa device:
