General

1 Keep work area clean

Cluttered areas and benches can cause accidents.

2 Keep children away

Do not let children come into contact with the tool or extension cord. Supervision is required for those under 16 years of age.

3 Use appropriate tool

The intended use is described in this instruction manual. Do not force small tools or attachments to do the job of a heavy-duty tool. The tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was intended.

Warning! The use of any accessory or attachment or performance of any operation with this tool, other than those recommended in this instruction manual may present a risk of personal injury.

• Never attempt to use this attachment in outdoor applications.

Description (fig. A)

Your DE0842 pole has been designed to extend the capabilities of your DEWALT DW082K/DW084K/DW087K laser.

Assembly and adjustment

Also refer to the manual of the tool to be used with this attachment.

Installing the attachment (fig. B - D)

Fully assembled, the pole consists of 5 tubes.

• Hold the tube (1) with the telescopic shaft (6) with one hand and with the other fit a tube into the threaded end (8).
• Fit as many tubes as required to approach the desired height.
• Loosen the clamp handle (5).
• Slide the table (2) onto the pole.
• Push the handle (5) down to lock the table in position.
• Fit the tube with the end piece (4).
• Clamp the attachment in position.
  • Fit the tool onto the table (2).

The telescopic shaft (6) allows you to adjust the attachment to the required clamping height.

• Loosen the collar (9).
• Fold out the feet (7).
• Carefully slide the attachment in upright position with the feet placed on the floor.
• Slide out the shaft as required.
• Tighten the shaft to lock it into place.
• Make sure the attachment is securely clamped.
• Check if the attachment is level.

Mounting the tool to the attachment (fig. C)

The table (2) has been equipped with a threaded pin (3) for mounting of the DW082K/DW084K/DW087K laser.

• Install the attachment on a relatively smooth and level location.
• Fit the tool to the table by inserting the threaded pin (3) into the receptacle in the tool and tightening the knob (11).
• Adjust the table height as necessary.

Before mounting the tool to the attachment check that the attachment is firmly set and is wobble free.

Adjusting the table height (fig. C)

• Loosen the height adjustment handle (5).
• Move the table (2) as necessary.
• Push the handle (5) down to lock the table in position.

Transport and storage

In order to conveniently transport and store the attachment, a carrying bag is included.

Consult your dealer for further information on the appropriate accessories.

Maintenance

Your attachment has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning.

Protecting the environment

Separate collection. This product must not be disposed of with normal household waste.

Should you find one day that your DEWALT product needs replacement, or if it is of no further use to you, do not dispose of it with household waste. Make this product available for separate collection.

Separate collection of used products and packaging allows materials to be recycled and used again. Re-use of recycled materials helps prevent environmental pollution and reduces the demand for raw materials.

Local regulations may provide for separate collection of electrical products from the household, at municipal waste sites or by the retailer when you purchase a new product.
