Does the kettle turn off automatically?

This device has a warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase. During this warranty period, the distributor will assume responsibility for any defects that can be shown to be the result of material, construction or manufacturing errors. Such defects will be remedied by repair or replacement of the device. The 2-year warranty period will be suspended during the repair period and will continue after the repair has taken place for the remaining duration of the warranty period. The warranty will be honoured if proof of purchase clearly showing the date of purchase is provided. If your device becomes defective within the 2-year warranty period, please return it with your proof of purchase to the store you purchased it from or follow the procedure of the relevant webshop if you bought it online.

The warranty does not cover damage to the device, accessories or parts caused by:

• normal wear and tear from use;
• non-compliance with the instructions for use, maintenance and cleaning in the manual;
- incorrect connection, e.g. electrical voltage too high;
- incorrect, heavy-handed or abnormal use;
• repairs or alterations carried out by the consumer or unauthorised third parties;
- use of parts or accessories not recommended nor supplied by the distributor.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following. Any injury or damage caused by failure to comply with these rules are at your own risk. Neither the manufacturer, importer, or the supplier may be held liable.

• Read all instructions carefully.
  • Make sure all packaging materials and promotional stickers have been removed before using the appliance for the first time. Make sure children cannot play with the packaging materials.

- In order to avoid a hazard this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer or a

separate remote control, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.

- The appliance must be disconnected from its power source when not in use, during service and when replacing parts. If present, first turn all the buttons to the 'off' position, then pull the plug out of the socket by grasping the plug itself. Never pull the cord or appliance to remove the plug from the socket.

- Before use, check carefully that the electric tension and frequency of the power net at your home match the indications on the rating label of the appliance.

- The appliance must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is installed and grounded in accordance with local installation regulations.

• During boiling, hot steam may come through the filter or any other opening. Keep hands and face at a safe distance during operation.
• Do not overfill the kettle. Boiling water or other liquid may be ejected during usage.
• This appliance is operated filled at least to the minimum level and not above the maximum level marked on the appliance.
• Do not spill any liquid on the connector.
• Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.
• Ensure that the kettle is switched off before removing it from its stand.
• Do not move the appliance while it is still operating.
• Never switch on the water kettle when it is empty.
  • Always pour out boiling water slowly and carefully, making sure that you do not tip the kettle too fast.
• Be careful when you fill the water kettle when the appliance is still hot.
• Never touch the housing as it may be hot. Only touch the handle and buttons of the appliance.
• Only use the connector, stand or unit with incorporated thermostat delivered with the appliance.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

Boil a full water kettle and pour away the water. Repeat this twice before actually using the water kettle for the first time.

USE

1. Place the water kettle on a flat and stable surface.
2. Remove the water kettle from its base and open the lid by pressing the top button.
3. Fill the water kettle with the desired amount of water. Make sure that the water level is always higher than the minimum indication (0.5 l) and lower than the maximum indication (1.7 l).
4. If you have not added enough water, the water kettle will switch off before the water boils.

5. If you have added too much water, the boiling water could escape through the spout. That is why you should never exceed the maximum indication when filling the kettle. Also, always make sure that the lid is properly closed before turning on the watter kettle.

6. Close the lid. Make sure that it is closed well.

7. Place the water kettle on its base.

8. Plug in the appliance.

9. Press the on/off switch at the bottom of the handle. The indicator will light up and the water kettle will start the boiling process.

10. The water kettle will automatically switch off when the water boils. You can always stop the boiling process yourself at any moment by pushing the on/off switch upward.

⚠ Make sure that the on/off switch is clear of obstructions and that the lid is firmly closed. The water kettle will not switch off automatically if the switch is hindered or if the lid is still open.

1. Remove the kettle from the base and pour out the water.

⚠️ Be careful when pouring the water since it is possible to burn yourself on the boiling water or the hot steam. Do not open the lid when the water in the water kettle is hot.

1. The water kettle will not start boiling again until the switch is pressed down again. Let the appliance cool down for 15 to 20 seconds before reopening the water kettle to boil water.

2. The water kettle can remain on its base when the appliance is not being used.

3. Make sure that the water kettle does not receive any power when it is not being used, so always unplug the appliance when not in use.
4. If by accident you would use the kettle without water in it, the boil dry protection will automatically switch off the appliance. If this happens, let the water kettle cool down completely before filling the kettle with cold water to start the boiling process.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Always unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
- Wipe the outside of the device with a slightly damp cloth. You can use a mild detergent, but do not use abrasive products.
- Also regularly clean the removable filter.

DESCALING

Tap water may cause scale on the inside of the water kettle. Use a liquid descaler or a non-toxic cleaning product to remove this build-up.

An alternate solution could be the following:

1. Fill the water kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and add water until the kettle is full (max. level). Let this soak overnight. However, do not boil this liquid!
2. Afterwards, pour away the solution. Stains that remain in the spout can be removed by rubbing it with a damp cloth.
3. Fill the kettle with clean water, boil and pour away the water.
4. Repeat once more and the water kettle is again ready for use.

⚠️Do not immerse unit, cord, or plug in water or other liquid.
⚠️ Never use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents.

The kettle does not switch off automatically. Make sure that the switch is not obstructed and that the lid is firmly closed.
Can the kettle be descaled using vinegar? Yes, vinegar may be used to descale the kettle.See descaling section.
The device switches off immediately. Too little water (minimum of 0.5 litres) will cause the kettle to switch itself off before the water boils off. If this happens, let the water kettle cool down completely before filling the kettle with cold water to start the boiling process.
