USER MANUAL CR-540 LENCO
User manual – Clock radio with light and USB charge function
Usage of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN MIND:
- Do not cover or block any ventilation openings. When placing the device on a shelf, leave 5 cm (2") free space around the whole device.
- Install in accordance with the supplied user manual.
- Keep the device away from heat sources such as radiators, heaters, stoves, candles and other heat-generating products or naked flame.
The device can only be used in moderate climates. Extremely cold or warm environments should be avoided. Working temperature between 5^ and 30^ C. - Avoid using the device near strong magnetic fields.
- Electrostatic discharge can disturb normal usage of this device. If so, simply reset and restart the device following the instruction manual. During file transmission, please handle with care and operate in a static-free environment.
- Warning! Never insert an object into the product through the vents or openings. High voltage flows through the product and inserting an object can cause electric shock and/or short circuit internal parts. For the same reason, do not spill water or liquid on the product.
- Do not use in wet or moist areas such as bathrooms, steamy kitchens or near swimming pools.
- The device shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and make sure that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, are placed on or near the apparatus.
- Do not use this device when condensation may occur. When the unit is used in a warm wet room with damp, water droplets or condensation may occur inside the unit and the unit may not function properly; let the unit stand in power OFF for 1 or 2 hours before turning on the power: the unit should be dry before getting any power.
- Although this device is manufactured with the utmost care and checked several times before leaving the factory, it is still possible that problems may occur, as with all electrical appliances. If you notice smoke, an excessive build-up of heat or any other unexpected phenomena, you should disconnect the plug from the main power socket immediately.
- This device must operate on a power source as specified on the specification label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply used in your home, consult your dealer or local power company.
- Keep away from animals. Some animals enjoy biting on power cords.
- To clean the device, use a soft dry cloth. Do not use solvents or petrol based fluids. To remove severe stains, you may use a damp cloth with dilute detergent.
- The supplier is not responsible for damage or lost data caused by malfunction, misuse, modification of the device or battery replacement.
- Do not interrupt the connection when the device is formatting or transferring files. Otherwise, data may be corrupted or lost.
- If the unit has USB playback function, the USB memory stick should be plugged into the unit directly. Don't use an USB extension cable because it can cause interference resulting in failing of data.
- The rating label has been marked on the bottom or back panel of the device.
- This device is not intended for use by people (including children) with physical, sensory or mental disabilities, or a lack of experience and knowledge, unless they're under supervision or have received instructions about the correct use of the device by the person who is responsible for their safety.
- This product is intended for non professional use only and not for commercial or industrial use.
- Make sure the unit is adjusted to a stable position. Damage caused by using this product in an unstable position vibrations or shocks or by failure to follow any other warning or precaution contained within this user manual will not be covered by warranty.
- Never remove the casing of this device.
- Never place this device on other electrical equipment.
- Do not allow children access to plastic bags.

Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the device has been damaged in any way, such as the power supply cord or the plug, when liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the device, when the device has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

Long exposure to loud sounds from personal music players may lead to temporary or permanent hearing loss.

If the product is delivered with power cable or AC power adaptor:

If any trouble occur, disconnect the AC power cord and refer servicing to qualified personnel.
- Don't step on or pinch the power adaptor. Be very careful, particularly near the plugs and the cable's exit point. Do not place heavy items on the power adaptor, which may damage it. Keep the entire device out of children's reach! When playing with the power cable, they can seriously injure themselves.
● Unplug this device during lightning storms or when unused for a long period.
● The socket outlet must be installed near the equipment and must be easily accessible. - Do not overload ac outlets or extension cords. Overloading can cause fire or electric shock.
● Devices with class 1 construction should be connected to a main socket outlet with a protective earthed connection.
● Devices with class 2 construction do not require a earthed connection.
● Always hold the plug when pulling it out of the main supply socket. Do not pull the power cord. This can cause a short circuit. -
Do not use a damaged power cord or plug or a loose outlet. Doing so may result in fire or electric shock.

If the product contains or is delivered with a remote control containing coin/cell batteries: Warning:

“Do not ingest battery, Chemical Burn Hazard” or equivalent working.
● [The remote control supplied with] This product contains a coin/button cell battery. If the battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death. - Keep new and used batteries away from children.
- If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.

If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

Caution about the use of Batteries:
● Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
● Battery cannot be subjected to high or low extreme temperatures, low air pressure at high altitude during use, storage or transportation.
● Replacement of a battery with an incorrect type that can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
- Disposal of a battery into fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting of a battery, that can result in an explosion.
● Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding environment that can result in an explosion or that leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
● A battery subjected to extremely low air pressure that may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
● Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
INSTALLATION
- Unpack all parts and remove protective material.
- Do not connect the unit to the mains before checking the mains voltage and before all other connections have been made.

Backup battery
In the event of a power failure, the battery can retain the set clock/alarm time and the stored radio station.

- Remove the power plug.
- Turn the device to open the battery compartment on the back. Be careful not to damage the buttons on the front of the device.
- Push the latch (A) in the arrow direction to open the battery case, as shown in Figure 2.
- Install new batteries or remove old batteries if necessary.
- Clean battery contacts and device contacts with a dry cloth before inserting a new battery.

- Note the correct polarity when inserting, as shown in Figure 3. Secondly close the battery compartment cover carefully. The retainer on the cover must be engaged with the housing.
Auxiliary (AUX) Playback
Connect external audio sources (AUX). The sound of external devices can be played through the speaker of the unit.
- Use the audio cable (with 3.5mm plug) to connect the audio output of the external device to the audio input AUX IN.
- Start playing the audio/video on an external device.
- Adjust the volume of the two devices.
Smartphone charge

The device has a USB port that can be used to charge external devices, such as smartphones. Connect the external device to the USB port using the appropriate charging cable (1).
Note • This device supports 5V DC charging with a maximum current of 1 A. • There is no guarantee that all external devices with USB charging ports will charge. • Radio reception may be affected while charging the device.
Turn on the device
- Connect the power cable to the power socket.
- When first used, the preset time is displayed on the display.
-
To turn on the radio, short press the ⏻ button on the device to play the last tuned station.
-
To turn off the radio, press and hold the ⏻ button on the device again.
• The device switches to standby mode and displays the current time.
Note. To turn off the device completely, remove the power plug from the socket. Adjust the volume You can adjust the volume using the VOL - and VOL+ buttons on the device.
Clock setting
To set the time, the device must be in standby mode.

CLK./MEM. Hold the button until the 12/24-hour format flashes on the display.
-
Use the SKIP - and SKIP+ buttons to select the desired display format (12/24 hours).
-
CLK./MEM. Press Confirm Settings.
- If you select 12 hours, the display will show whether it is AM (morning) or PM (afternoon).

Press SKIP - and SKIP+ buttons to set the hour.

CLK./MEM. Press Confirm Settings.
-
Press SKIP - and SKIP+ buttons to set minutes.

CLK./MEM. Press Confirm Settings.
Set up a night light
Nightlights are available in three different brightness levels (30%, 50% or 100%).

Press the SLEEP/LED button repeatedly until the desired brightness level is reached. Turn off the night light.

Press the SLEEP/LED button repeatedly until the night light is off.
This radio is suitable for receiving FM radio stations.
Place the radio near a window and fully deploy the antenna.
Note: To improve reception, it may be necessary to point the antenna in a different direction.
FM radio
Selecting FM Stations
-
Short press the ⏻ button on the device to turn on the radio.
-
Use the SKIP+ and SKIP - buttons to set the desired radio frequency. Or press the PRE button, repeatedly to select a saved station(P01\~P30).
Scanning Stations (manual)
- Press SKIP+ and SKIP - buttons to adjust the display frequency in increments of 0.10 MHz.
Scanning Stations (automatic)

Press and hold SKIP+ and SKIP - buttons to start channel search.
-
Search automatically starts and stops on the next station found.
- To continue searching, Press and hold the Prev or Next button again.
Storing FM stations
The device can store 30 FM stations (P01 to P30).
Station auto save (AMS)
-
CLK./MEM. Press down and hold still.
-
The device initiates an automatic radio search and saves each station it finds to its own program location.
- When the station search is complete, the device jumps to the first program location (P01) and plays the station stored there.
Manual save station
- Set the desired radio frequency.

- Press CLK./MEM button, the Pxx Blink on the display.
- Use the SKIP+ and SKIP - buttons to select the desired storage location.
- Press CLK./MEM button again to confirm the selection and complete the save.
Note: If there is already an existing FM station stored under a preset, it will be over written when you store the new station.
Call the saved station
- The PRE button. the Pxx shown on the display.
- Press the SKIP+ or SKIP- button until the desired the Pxx on the display. Play stored stations.
- Or directly press the PRE button repeatedly to select pre-storage stations P01\~P30.
until the desired the Pxx on the display. Play stored stations.
Alarm setting
To set the alarm time, the device must be in standby mode.
- Press and hold the VOL - /AL.1 button. • The currently set alarm time appears on the display.
The time will blink.
- Press SKIP+ or SKIP - button to set the hours.
- Use the VOL - /AL.1 button to confirm the Settings.
- Press SKIP+ or SKIP - button to select set minutes.
- Use the VOL - /AL.1 button to confirm the Settings.
- Press SKIP+ or SKIP - button to select desired alarm sound source, bu2 (Buzz) or rAd (Radio) to play.
- Press the VOL - /AL.1 button to confirm the Settings.
- Press SKIP+ or SKIP - button to select the desired alarm volume. (No this function)
- Use the VOL - /AL.1 button to confirm the Settings. (No this function)
When the alarm clock on the radio activates, the volume gradually increases:
Alarm sound source from BUZZ, volume is fixed (not accepted, should be from small to large)
To set a second alarm, perform steps 1 through 9
Repeat using the VOL+/AL.2 button
The display (LED) shows which alarm is activated
Turn on/off the alarm
- Press the VOL - /AL.1 or VOL+/AL.2 button repeatedly to enable or disable the alarm.
- Display displays the current display alert Settings. (Alarm indicator lights on/off)
Stopping the Alarm
- Alarm repetition (SNOOZE)
When the alarm sounds, Press the SNOOZE/DIMMER button, the alarm stops, and the alarm will trigger again in 9 minutes.
- Alarm stop
When the alarm sounds, press the button and the alarm will turn off. the alarm will sound again the next day at the same time.
Display brightness adjusts/ off
Display brightness can be set to three levels (bright, dim, off) can be set.
- Press the SNOOZE/DIMMER button repeatedly to select the (LED) display bright, dim, off
Sleep timer setting
The sleep timer can be set between 5 and 120 minutes.
- Press and hold the SLEEP/LED button until the sleep time is displayed.
- Press the SLEEP/LED button repeatedly until the desired shutdown time is displayed.
- select <120, 110, 100, 90... 5 minutes, or OFF>.
• After a few seconds, the device changes and the normal display is restored.
The activated sleep timer appears on the display. (Indicator lights up)
To cancel the sleep function, press SLEEP/LED button repeatedly until OFF is displayed; also. You can press and hold the ⏻ button to turn off the radio.
