What is the difference between the copper ports (1-24) and the SFP+ ports (25-28)?

The copper ports (1-24) are RJ45 10/100/1000 Mbps ports with PoE+ support to power devices such as IP cameras or access points. The SFP+ ports (25-28) are slots for optical or copper modules, supporting speeds of 1 or 10 Gbps, ideal for uplinks.

How can I tell if a connection is established on a port?

For ports 1-24, the Link/ACT/Speed LED is solid (orange for 10/100M, green for 1000M) when a connection is active and blinks during data transfer. For ports 25-28, the corresponding LED is orange for 1G and green for 10G.

What is the maximum total PoE power?

The total PoE budget of the switch is approximately 240 Watts, distributed across the 24 PoE+ ports (up to 30 W per port according to IEEE 802.3at).

How do I rack mount the device?

Use the supplied brackets and screws. Disconnect all cables, attach one bracket to each side of the switch with the screws, then screw the brackets to the rack rails. Reconnect the cables.

What should I do if the PWR LED does not light up?

Check that the power cord is properly connected to the switch and to a working power outlet. If the problem persists, try another outlet or contact technical support.

Can I use crossover or straight-through cables?

Yes, all RJ45 ports support Auto-MDI/MDI-X, so you can use either straight-through or crossover cables (UTP/STP Cat5e or higher).

How do I reset the switch to factory defaults?

The manual does not mention a reset button. Generally, press and hold the Reset button (located on the front or back) for 10 seconds with a pointed object. Factory settings will be restored.

What type of SFP+ cable should I use?

The SFP+ ports accept optical modules (SFP+ 1G/10G) or direct attach copper cables (DAC). The distance depends on the module: multimode for short distances, single-mode for long distances.

Do I need to ground the switch?

It is recommended to connect the chassis ground screw to a direct ground (e.g., the rack frame) for electrical protection and interference reduction.

Placement

Prior to use, it is recommended that the switch be placed/positioned:

• on a level surface that can support the weight of the switch (and any other items that need to be considered);
• with a minimum of 25 mm (approx. 1") of clearance on the top and sides for adequate ventilation;
• away from sources of electrical noise: radios, transmitters, broadband amplifiers, etc.;
• where it cannot be affected by excessive moisture.

The switch includes brackets and screws for optional rack mounting.

1 Disconnect any cables from the switch.
2 Position a bracket over the mounting holes on one side of the switch and secure it in place with screws.
3 Repeat Step 2 on the other side of the switch.
4 Position the switch in the rack and screw the brackets to the rack.
5 Reconnect any cables.

Chassis Ground Column

Located on the side of the power supply connector, a grounding terminal connector is used to provide proper grounding for your Intellinet Network Solutions switch. If you use the chassis grounding screw, it should be wired to an object that provides earth ground. In rackmount installations,

grounding is typically provided by the metal frame of the mounting rack.

Connections

• All ports on the switch support Auto-MDI/MDI-X functionality, so you can use straight or crossover UTP/STP cables to connect the RJ45 ports to PCs, routers, hubs, other switches, etc. Cat5/5e/6 UTP/STP cables provide optimal performance; if a status LED doesn't indicate a link or activity, check the corresponding device for proper setup and operation.
• Use the included power cable to connect the receptacle on the back of the switch to a power outlet, and confirm that the PWR LED lights.
• The LED indicators make it easier to monitor the switch and its connections. NOTE: All RJ45 ports provide power to a connected device, and all connected devices should comply with IEEE 802.3af/at.
