How to pair the RODRET dimmer with an IKEA smart product?

Place the dimmer within 5 cm of the switched-on smart product. Press and hold the pairing button for at least 10 seconds until a red LED lights up. Once connected, a white LED blinks. Without a hub, you can connect up to 10 products one by one.

Can I use the RODRET without the DIRIGERA hub?

Yes, you can directly connect up to 10 IKEA smart products to the dimmer without going through the hub. To do so, follow the standard pairing procedure.

How to replace the battery of the RODRET dimmer?

When the red LED lights up when pressing a button, open the battery compartment cover and replace the battery with a new AAA/HR03 battery. A rechargeable LADDA battery (sold separately) is recommended.

How to reset the RODRET dimmer to factory settings?

Press the pairing button quickly 4 times in a row (within 5 seconds). This removes all connected products and restores factory settings. You will then need to re-pair the products.

What is the wireless range of the RODRET?

The connection range is approximately 10 meters indoors, but it may vary depending on building materials and device placement.

Is the RODRET compatible with the TRÅDFRI gateway?

The RODRET is designed for the DIRIGERA hub. If you have a TRÅDFRI gateway, use the IKEA Home smart 1 app for setup.

Can I control multiple lights or plugs with a single RODRET?

Yes, you can connect up to 10 smart products to a single RODRET dimmer. With the DIRIGERA hub, you can also create groups in the IKEA Home smart app.

Is the RODRET waterproof?

The dimmer has an IP44 rating, which protects against splashes but is intended for indoor use only.

What to do if the red LED stays on after pressing a button?

A persistent red LED indicates that the battery is low and needs to be replaced. Replace it with a new AAA battery.

Can the RODRET be used with medical devices?

RODRET wireless dimmer/power switch works with smart lights and plugs from IKEA. It can be used with DIRIGERA hub to control smart products via the IKEA Home smart app.

App Store. For Android devices, download the app using Google Play store.

Note: If you have a TRÄDFRI gateway please use IKEA Home smart 1 app.

Getting started with DIRIGERA hub

Download the IKEA Home smart app and follow the instructions on screen to add the dimmer/switch to your IKEA Home smart system.

Getting started without DIRIGERA hub

1. Make sure the smart product you want to connect is installed and powered on.
2. Hold your dimmer/switch close to the smart product (less than 5 cm away).
3. Press and hold the pairing button for at least 10 seconds. A red LED will show on the dimmer/switch. The smart product will pulse with a white LED once connected.

Good to know

Without DIRIGERA, you can connect a maximum of 10 smart products to one dimmer/switch. Remember to add one product at a time. If your products are close together, disconnect the ones you have already connected while adding the next product.

Changing the battery

A red LED light will blink when you press any button the dimmer/switch to show that a new battery is needed. Open the battery lid and replace with a new AAA/HR03 battery. We recommend using a LADDA rechargeable battery. Please note it is sold separately.

Factory reset

To reset and remove all connected products, quick-press the pairing button 4 times (within 5 seconds). Follow steps 1-3 to reconnect your smart products.

Care instructions

To clean the product, wipe it with a soft cloth moistened with a little mild detergent. Use another soft, dry cloth to wipe dry. Never use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents as this can damage the product.

• The wireless dimmer is for indoor use only and can be used in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F).
• Do not leave the wireless dimmer in direct sunlight or near any heat source, as it may overheat.
• Different building materials and placement of the units can affect the wireless connectivity range.
