WARNING
These guidelines must be followed to ensure that safety mechanisms in this refrigerator will operate properly.
Electrical information
- The refrigerator must be plugged into its own dedicated 115 Volt, 60 Hz., 15 Amp, AC only electrical outlet. The power cord of the appliance is equipped with a 3-prong grounding plug for your protection against electrical shock hazards. It must be plugged directly into a properly grounded 3-prong receptacle. The receptacle must be installed in accordance with local codes and ordinances. Consult a qualified electrician. Avoid connecting refrigerator to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit. Do not use an extension cord or adapter plug.
- If the power cord is damaged, it should be replaced by an authorized service technician to prevent any risk.
- Never unplug the refrigerator by pulling on the power cord. Always grip the plug firmly, and pull straight out from the receptacle to prevent damaging the power cord.
- Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning and before replacing a light to avoid electrical shock.
- Performance may be affected if the voltage varies by 10% or more. Operating the refrigerator with insufficient power can damage the compressor. Such damage is not covered under your warranty.
- Do not plug the unit into an electrical outlet controlled by a wall switch or pull cord to prevent the refrigerator from being turned off accidentally.

IMPORTANT
Turning the Refrigerator controls to "OFF" will disable your refrigerator's cooling system, but does not disconnect the power to the light and other electrical components. To turn off power to your refrigerator you must unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

IMPORTANT
CFC/HCFC Disposal
Your old refrigerator may have a cooling system that used CFCs or HCFCs (chlorofluorocarbons or hydrochlorofluorocarbons). CFCs and HCFCs are believed to harm stratospheric ozone if released to the atmosphere. Other refrigerants may also cause harm to the environment if released to the atmosphere.
If you are throwing away your old refrigerator, make sure the refrigerant is removed for proper disposal by a qualified technician. If you intentionally release refrigerant, you may be subject to fines and imprisonment under provisions of environmental legislation.

IMPORTANT
Cleaning your Refrigerator
Remove tape and glue residue from surfaces before turning on the refrigerator. Rub a small amount of liquid dish soap over the adhesive with your fingers. Rinse with warm water and dry with a soft cloth.
Do not use sharp instruments, rubbing alcohol, flammable fluids, or abrasive cleaners to remove tape or glue. These products can damage the surface of your refrigerator.
After you remove all of the package materials, clean the inside of your refrigerator before using it. See the "Care & Cleaning" section in this manual.
See important information about cleaning glass shelves and covers in the "Optional Features" section of this manual.

IMPORTANT
Moving your Refrigerator
Your refrigerator is heavy. When moving the refrigerator for cleaning or service, raise the anti-tip bracket (see "Setting the Anti-tip Bracket"). Be sure to cover the floor with cardboard or hardboard to avoid floor damage. Always pull the refrigerator straight out when moving it. Do not wiggle or "walk" the refrigerator when trying to move it as floor damage could occur.
This Use & Care Guide provides general operating instructions for your model. Use the appliance only as instructed in this Use & Care Guide. Before starting the unit, follow these important first steps.
Location
- Choose a place that is near a grounded electrical outlet. Do Not use an extension cord or an adapter plug.
- If possible, place the appliance out of direct sunlight and away from the range, dishwasher or other heat sources.
- You must install the unit on a floor that is level and strong enough to support a fully loaded appliance.
- If you plan to purchase an ice maker kit (optional, not included), consider water supply availability near the appliance.
Installation
Installation clearances
- Allow the following clearances for ease of installation, proper air circulation, and plumbing and electrical connections:
Top 3.94 in. 100 mm
Sides 1.57 in. 40 mm
Back 1.18 in. 30 mm

NOTE
If you place the refrigerator with the door hinge side against a wall, you may have to allow additional space for the handle so you can open the door wider.

CAUTION
Do not install the refrigerator where the temperature will drop below 50^ F ( 10^ C) or rise above 110^ F ( 43^ C). The compressor will not be able to maintain proper temperatures inside the refrigerator.
Guidelines for final positioning of your unit:
- Rest all 4 corners of the cabinet firmly on the floor.
• Level the cabinet at the front and rear. - The sides should tilt 14 in. (6 mm) from front to back (to ensure the doors close and seal properly).
- Align the doors with each other and level them.
Setting the Anti-tip bracket:
The Anti-tip brackets are located on the lower front corners of the cabinet. Lower the anti-tip on each side clockwise until they contact the floor. Do not raise the cabinet.

NOTE
* We do not recommend to using an electric tool to unscrew and screw parts because it may damage the screw threads or cause screw heads to be stripped off. However, if chosen, the torque cannot be larger than 6 N·m (4.43 ft lbf).

NOTE
The direction in which your refrigerator doors open (door swing) can be reversed, from left to right or right to left, by moving the door hinges from one side to the other. Reversing the door swing should be performed by a qualified person.

IMPORTANT
Before you begin, turn the refrigerator temperature control to "OFF" and remove the electrical power cord from the wall outlet. Remove any food from door shelves.
Door removal and reversal instructions:
- Unplug your refrigerator.
- By hand, remove the top hinge cover, lifting the back and pushing it forward (see Figure 1A).
- Using a 5/16 in. socket, loosen the 3 screws from the top hinge (approx. 38 in. - 9 mm) (see Figure 1B).

IMPORTANT
Place the door on padded surface to avoid damage.
- Carefully open the freezer door. Lift the loosened the top hinge and lift the door off of center hinge pin. Set the door aside.
DOOR REMOVAL/ REVERSAL INSTRUCTIONS
- Using a 5/16 in. socket, remove the 3 screws from the top hinge, and set hinge aside (see Figure 1A).

NOTE
Keep the screws so they can be used on the opposite side.
- Using a 5/16 in. socket, unscrew the center hinge pin. Open the refrigerator door 90°, by hand, remove the pin, and lift the door off the bottom hinge pin.

IMPORTANT
Place door on padded surface to avoid damage.
- Using a T25 Torx Head screwdriver, remove the 3 center hinge screws, and set center hinge aside (see Figure 2).

- By hand, remove the bottom hinge cover from both sides (open on the sides and pull up).
- Using a T20 Torx Head screwdriver, remove the door stopper screw, and remove door stopper (see Figure 3).
- Using a 5/16 in. socket, unscrew the bottom hinge pin (see Figure 3).
- Reinstall the bottom hinge pin in the left side hole on the left side hinge (see Figure 3).
- Flip the door stopper. Reinstall the door stopper on top of the bottom hinge with the screw (see Figure 3).

- Install the bottom hinge covers.
- Using a putty knife gently remove the 3 center hinge hole covers (see Figure 4A) and install on the opposite side of the cabinet (see Figure 4B).

- With a flathead screwdriver, pry out the center hinge bearing from the top of the refrigerator door (see Figure 5A).
- With a flathead screwdriver, pry out the center hinge bearing plug from the opposite side of the refrigerator door (see Figure 5B).

- Reinstall the center hinge bearing in place of the plug removed in previous step. Using a hammer, gently tap it all the way in.

By hand, reinstall the center hinge bearing plug on the opposite side of the door.

Flip refrigerator door over and, using a Phillips Head screwdriver, remove the screw from the door closer and set aside (see Figure 6B).
-
With a flathead screwdriver, pry out the bottom hinge bearing from the refrigerator door (see Figure 6A).
-
Using a hammer, gently tap the bottom hinge bearing all the way in on the opposite side of the door (see Figure 6C).
-
Flip the door closer over and install on the opposite side of the door (see Figure 6C).

IMPORTANT
Due to use over time, the door closer might get slightly deformed. Use pliers to adjust the door closer to fit inside the endcap slot

Using a T25 Torx Head screwdriver, attach the center hinge with the 3 center hinge screws.
-
With the door open 90°, lower the refrigerator door over the bottom hinge pin. Manually attach the center hinge pin and close the door.
-
Using 5/16 in. socket, tighten the center hinge pin.
-
Using a flathead screwdriver, pry out the top hinge bearing plug from the opposite side of the freezer door.
-
Using a hammer, gently tap the top hinge bearing plug removed in the previous step.
-
By hand, reinstall the top hinge bearing plug on the opposite side of the door.
-
Flip freezer door over and remove the screw from the door closer using a Phillips Head screwdriver and set aside (see Figure 7B).
-
Pry out the center hinge bearing from the freezer door with a straight screwdriver (see Figure 7A).
-
Using a hammer, gently tap the center hinge bearing all the way in on the opposite side of the door (see Figure 7C).
-
Flip the door closer over and install on the opposite side of the door (see Figure 7C).

IMPORTANT
Due to use over time, the door closer might get slightly deformed. Use pliers to adjust the door closer to fit inside the endcap slot

Using a 5/16" socket, attach the top hinge with the 3 screws (approx. 38 in. - 9 mm). Do not tighten.

With the freezer door open 90°, lift the loosened top hinge and lower the door over the center hinge pin. Close the door.
-
Tighten the top hinge screws and check door the door alignment and door sealing. Reinstall the top hinge cover.
-
Plug the refrigerator in an electrical outlet.
Optional Ice Maker Kit Installed

WARNING
To avoid electric shock, which can cause death or severe personal injury, disconnect the refrigerator from electrical power before connecting a water supply line to the refrigerator.

CAUTION
To Avoid Property Damage:
- Use stainless steel braided tubing for the water supply line. Do not use water supply tubing made of 14 in. plastic. Plastic tubing greatly increases the potential for water leaks, and the manufacturer will not be responsible for any damage if you use plastic tubing for the supply line.
- DO NOT install water supply tubing in areas where temperatures fall below freezing.
- Chemicals from a malfunctioning softener can damage the ice maker. If the ice maker is connected to soft water, ensure that the softener is maintained and working properly.

IMPORTANT
Ensure that your water supply line connections comply with all local plumbing codes.

NOTE
Check with your local building authority for recommendations on water lines and associated materials prior to installing your new refrigerator. Depending on your local/state building codes, for homes with existing valves use Smart Choice® water line kit 5304437642 (with a 6 ft. Stainless Steel Water Line) and for homes without an existing valve, use Smart Choice® water line kit 5304493869 (with a 6' Polyline Waterline). For more information call (833) 337-4006.

NOTE
These instructions do not cover aftermarket ice maker installation. Use instructions in the ice maker kit (IM117000).
Before Installing The Water Supply Line, You Will Need:
- Basic Tools: adjustable wrench, flat-blade screwdriver, and Phillips™ screwdriver
- Access to a household cold water line with water pressure between 30 and 100 psi.
- A water supply line made of 14 in. (6.4 mm) OD, copper or stainless steel tubing. To determine the length of tubing needed, measure the distance from the ice maker inlet valve at the back of the refrigerator to your cold water pipe. Then add approximately 7 ft (2.1 m.), so the refrigerator can be moved out for cleaning (as shown).
- A shutoff valve to connect the water supply line to your household water system. DO NOT use a self-piercing type shutoff valve.
- Do not reuse compression fitting or use thread seal tape.
- A compression nut and ferrule (sleeve) for connecting a copper water supply line to the ice maker inlet valve.
To Connect Water Supply Line To The Ice Maker Inlet Valve
-
Disconnect the refrigerator from the electrical power source.
-
Place the end of the water supply line into a sink or bucket. Turn ON the water supply and flush the supply line until the water is clear. Turn OFF water supply at shutoff valve.
-
Remove plastic cap from water valve inlet and discard cap.
-
If you use copper tubing - Slide brass compression nut, then ferrule (sleeve) onto water supply line. Push water supply line into water valve inlet as far as it will go (¼ in. / 6.4 mm). Slide ferrule (sleeve) into valve inlet and finger tighten compression nut onto valve. Tighten another half turn with a wrench; DO NOT overtighten. See Figure 1.
If you use braided flexible stainless steel tubing - The nut is already assembled on the tubing. Slide nut onto valve inlet and finger tighten nut onto valve. Tighten another half turn with a wrench; DO NOT overtighten. See Figure 2.

With steel clamp and screw, secure water supply line (copper tubing only) to rear panel of refrigerator as shown.
-
Coil excess water supply line (copper tubing only), about 2½ turns, behind refrigerator as shown and arrange coils so they do not vibrate or wear against any other surface.
-
To turn ice maker on, press the ice maker's On/Off power switch so the LED is steadily illuminated.

NOTE
Automatic ice makers are optional accessories that may be installed in most models at any time. Call (833) 337-4006 for information about Ice Maker Kit 117000.

NOTE
If your refrigerator has an automatic ice maker, it will produce minimal ice during the first 24 hours of operation. Air in new plumbing lines may cause the ice maker to cycle 2 or 3 times before making a full tray of ice. With no usage, it will take approximately 1 to 2 days to fill the ice container.
New plumbing connections may cause the first production of ice cubes to be discolored or have an odd flavor. Discard ice made during the first 24 hours.

IMPORTANT
The ice maker is shipped in the On position. To ensure proper function for your ice maker, hook up the water supply immediately or turn the ice maker OFF. If the ice maker is on and the water supply is not connected, the water valve will make a loud chattering noise.
Turning your Ice Maker On
After completely connecting the plumbing, you must open the water supply valve. Place the ice container under the ice maker, pushing it as far back as possible. Press the ice maker's On/Off ⏻ button.
Turning your Ice Maker Off
To stop the ice maker, press the ice maker's On/Off ⏻ button. The ice maker regulates the ice production and stops making ice when full and starts again when ice is low in the ice container.
ICE PRODUCTION: WHAT TO EXPECT
The ice maker will produce 2 to 2.5 pounds of ice every 24 hours depending on usage conditions. Ice is produced at a rate of 10 cubes every 100 to 160 minutes.

CAUTION
Do Not place the ice container in your dishwasher.
Cool Down Period
To ensure safe food storage, allow the refrigerator to operate with the doors closed for at least 8 hours before loading it with food.
Refrigerator & Freezer Controls

NOTE
When first turning refrigerator on, adjust control to recommended. After 24 hours, adjust the controls as needed.

Cold OFF Coldest RecommendedRefrigerator Control

IMPORTANT
Adjusting the refrigerator temperature control to "OFF" turns off the compressor and prevents the refrigerator from cooling, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb and other electrical components. To turn off power to your refrigerator, you must unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Temperature Adjustment
Adjust temperature gradually: adjust the knob in small increments, allowing the temperature to stabilize.
- For colder temperatures, adjust the knob towards Coldest.
- For warmer temperatures, adjust the knob towards Cold.
Adjusting the refrigerator control will change temperatures in both compartments. You can leave the auxiliary freezer control at the factory pre-set (*recommended) or adjusted as desired; it has no effect on the electrical power to the refrigerator.
To maintain temperatures, a fan circulates air in the refrigerator and freezer compartments. For good circulation, do not block cold air vents with food items.

Shelf Adjustment

CAUTION
Do not clean glass shelves or covers with warm water when they are cold. Shelves and covers may break if exposed to sudden temperature changes or impact, such as bumping. Tempered glass is designed to shatter into many small, pebble-size pieces. This is normal. Glass shelves and covers are heavy. Use both hands when removing them to avoid dropping.

CAUTION
To avoid personal injury or property damage, handle tempered glass shelves carefully. Shelves may break suddenly if nicked, scratched, or exposed to sudden temperature change.
Easily adjust refrigerator shelves to suit individual needs. Before adjusting the shelves, remove all food.
- To adjust sliding shelves, slide shelf by moving forward and lifting upward.
- To replace shelves, insert the rear of the shelf into any pair of shelf rails and carefully push shelf back into position making sure the shelf clips go in the notch in the liner.

CAUTION
Reinstall the shelf and ensure the retainer is engaged to the liner and holds in place.

Door Storage
Use door bins for frequently used items such as jars, bottles, and cans. Door bins can accommodate gallon- and economy-sized jars and containers.
To remove door bin:
- Lift up on bin.
- Pull straight out.
- Push down on sides of bin.
- You will hear the sides lock into the tabs.

Crisper Humidity Control
The crisper humidity control allows you to adjust the humidity within the crisper. This can extend the life of fresh vegetables that keep best in high humidity.
Sliding Deli Drawer
This model is equipped with a sliding Deli Drawer for storage of luncheon meats, spreads, cheeses, and other deli items. Please be sure to support glass when removing the drawer.

NOTE
Leafy vegetables keep best when stored with the Humidity Control set on High Humidity, or in a drawer without a Humidity Control. This keeps incoming air to a minimum and maintains maximum moisture content. Store non-leafy vegetables and fruits still in their skins at the low humidity setting.
Understanding the sounds you may hear
Your new, high-efficiency refrigerator may introduce unfamiliar sounds. These sounds normally indicate your refrigerator is operating correctly. Some surfaces on floors, walls, and kitchen cabinets may make these sounds more noticeable.

NOTE
Rigid foam insulation is very energy efficient, but is not a sound insulator.

A Evaporator Refrigerant through the evaporator may create a boiling or gurgling sound.
B Evaporator fan You may hear air being forced through the refrigerator by the evaporator fan.
C Defrost heater During defrost cycles, water dripping onto the defrost heater may cause a hissing or sizzling sound. After defrosting, a popping sound may occur.

IMPORTANT
During the automatic defrost cycle, you may notice a red glow in the vents on the back wall of your freezer compartment. This is normal during the defrost cycle.
D Automatic defrost control These parts can produce a snapping or clicking sound when turning the cooling system on and off.
E Compressor Modern, high-efficiency compressors run much faster than in the past. The compressor may have a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound.
F Drain pan (not removable) You may hear water dripping into the drain pan during the defrost cycle.
Protecting your investment

If you set your temperature controls to turn off cooling, power to lights and other electrical components will continue until you unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Keeping your appliance clean maintains appearance and prevents odor build-up. Wipe up any spills immediately and clean the freezer and refrigerator compartments at least twice a year. When cleaning, take the following precautions:
- Never use CHLORIDE or cleaners with bleach to clean stainless steel.
- Do not wash any removable parts in a dishwasher.
- Always unplug the electrical power cord from the wall outlet before cleaning.
- Remove adhesive labels by hand. Do not use razor blades or other sharp instruments which can scratch the appliance surface.
- Do not remove the serial plate.
Do not use abrasive cleaners such as window sprays, scouring cleansers, brushes, flammable fluids, cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleansers containing petroleum products on plastic parts, interior doors, gaskets or cabinet liners. Do not use paper towels, metallic scouring pads, or other abrasive cleaning materials or strong alkaline solutions.

CAUTION
Pull the refrigerator straight out to move it. Shifting it from side to side may damage flooring. Be careful not to move the refrigerator beyond the plumbing connections.

IMPORTANT
If you store or move your refrigerator in freezing temperatures, be sure to completely drain the water supply system. Failure to do so could result in water leaks when the refrigerator is put back into service. Contact a service representative to perform this operation.

How long is the IKEA guarantee valid?
This guarantee is valid for five (5) years from the original date of purchase of Your appliance at IKEA, unless the appliance is named LAGAN or TILLREDA in which case two (2) years of guarantee apply. The original sales receipt is required as proof of purchase. If service work is carried out under guarantee, this will not extend the guarantee period for the appliance.
Who will execute the service?
IKEA "Service Provider" will provide the service through its own service operations or authorized service partner network.
What does this guarantee cover?
The guarantee covers faults of the appliance which have been caused by faulty construction or material faults from the date of purchase from IKEA. This guarantee applies to domestic use only. Some exceptions not guaranteed are specified under the headline "What is not covered under this guarantee?" Within the guarantee period, the costs to remedy the fault (e.g., repairs, parts, labour and travel) will be covered, provided that the appliance is accessible for repair without special expenditure. On these conditions the local regulations are applicable. Replaced parts become the property of IKEA.
What will IKEA do to correct the problem?
IKEA appointed Service Provider will examine the product and decide, at its sole discretion, if it is covered under this guarantee. If considered covered, IKEA Service Provider or its authorized service partner through its own service operations, will then, at its sole discretion, either repair the defective product or replace it with the same or a comparable product.
What is not covered under this guarantee?
• Normal wear and tear.
- Deliberate or negligent damage, damage caused by failure to observe operating instructions, incorrect installation or by connection to the wrong voltage, damage caused by chemical or electrochemical reaction, rust, corrosion or water damage including but not limited to damage caused by excessive lime in the water supply, damage caused by abnormal environmental conditions.
- Consumable parts including batteries and lamps.
- Non-functional and decorative parts which do not affect normal use of the appliance, including any scratches and possible colour differences.
- Accidental damage caused by foreign objects or substances and cleaning or unblocking of filters, drainage systems or soap drawers.
- Damage to the following parts: ceramic glass, accessories, crockery and cutlery baskets, feed and drainage pipes, seals, lamps and lamp covers, screens, knobs, casings and parts of casings. Unless such damages can be proved to have been caused by production faults.
- Cases where no fault could be found during a technician's visit.
- Repairs not carried out by our appointed service providers and/or an authorized service contractual partner or where non-original parts have been used.
- Repairs caused by installation which is faulty or not according to specification.
- The use of the appliance in a non-domestic environment i.e. professional use.
- Transportation damages. If a customer transports the product to his home or another address, IKEA is not liable for any damage that may occur during transport. However, if IKEA delivers the product to the customer's delivery address, then damage to the product that occurs during this delivery will be covered by IKEA.
- Cost for carrying out the initial installation of the IKEA appliance. However, if an IKEA appointed Service Provider or its authorized service partner repairs or replaces the appliance under the terms of this guarantee, the appointed Service Provider or its authorized service partner will reinstall the repaired appliance or install the replacement, if necessary.
How country law applies
The IKEA guarantee gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state or jurisdiction to jurisdiction. However these conditions do not limit in any way consumer rights described in the local legislation.
Area of validity
For appliances which are purchased in United States or Canada, or moved to one of the mentioned countries, the services will be provided in the framework of the guarantee conditions normal in the specified country.
An obligation to carry out services in the framework of the guarantee exists only if the appliance complies and is installed in accordance with:
- the technical specifications of the country in which the guarantee claim is made;
- the Assembly Instructions and User Manual Safety Information.
