Frequently Asked Questions - 304780 Bearware

How to install the battery in the Bearware 304780 clock?
Open the battery compartment on the back of the clock and insert one AA 1.5 V battery respecting the indicated polarity. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Why does the clock not receive the DCF signal?
The DCF signal can be blocked by thick walls or interference. Ensure the clock is placed near a window. To restart the search, press and hold the REC button for 3 seconds until the second hand stops.
How to set the time manually on the Bearware 304780 clock?
If the clock does not capture the DCF signal after 30 minutes, you can set the time manually. Press and hold the M SET button to advance the minute hand. Press briefly to advance one minute, or hold for fast movement.
What to do if the hands do not move after inserting the battery?
Check that a safety pin located in the small hole above the battery compartment has been removed. This pin locks the hands during transport.
How to reset the clock to zero (00:00)?
Use a pointed object (like a paperclip) to press the RESET button on the back of the clock. The hands will return to 00:00 and the clock will attempt to capture the DCF signal again.
Can I use rechargeable batteries in the clock?
No, it is not recommended to use rechargeable batteries because their voltage (1.2 V) is lower than that of non-rechargeable batteries (1.5 V), which may cause the clock to malfunction.
Is the clock waterproof?
No, the clock is not watertight. Use it only in a dry environment and avoid high humidity, water, and snow.
How to clean the Bearware 304780 clock?
Wipe the casing with a soft dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents to avoid damaging the surface.
Does the clock set itself automatically?
Yes, the clock receives the DCF time signal (77.5 MHz) transmitted from Frankfurt, which allows automatic time setting for Central Europe. If the signal is received, the clock synchronizes automatically, even after manual adjustment.
What to do if the clock is incomplete or damaged upon delivery?
Check the package contents immediately: wall clock and user manual. If any item is missing or damaged, do not use the device and contact customer service.

There is a safety pin in the small hole above the battery compartment of the watch. The pin is intended to block the pointers. Pull it out before use.

The watch then starts at its initial position (00:00). The hands move until the position is reached. The clock then tries to receive the DCF signal. In some cases, the connection cannot be established due to certain factors, such as reinforced walls etc. To restart the scanning, press and hold the "REC" button on the back of the clock for about 3 seconds until the second hand stops moving. The DCF scanning has then been restarted.

If you still haven't received a signal after about 30 minutes, you can also adjust the time manually. To do this, press and hold the "M SET" button until the minute hand moves forward by one minute.

You can adjust the time by pressing the "M Set" button on the back of the device. Pressing the button once moves the minute hand forward by one minute. Press and hold the button to make the minute hand move faster.

As soon as the clock receives a DCF signal despite adjusting the time manually, it automatically adjusts to the current time.

5. DCF signal

The DCF signal is a time signal which is sent out by one of the most accurate clocks in the world. It is located near Frankfurt am Main. Under ideal conditions, your weather station can receive this signal from a distance of up to 1500 km.

If the clock has detected the signal, then it will display the current Central European Time. If the attempt to receive a signal fails, then the second hand starts to move. In such cases, adjust the time manually.

Re-activate the scanning by pressing the "REC" button for about 3 seconds until the second hand stops again. Alternatively, you have the option of setting the time manually. More information in this regard is given in the "Initial setup" section.

6. RESET

You can reset the time to 00:00 by taking a pointed object and pressing the "RESET" button on the back of the clock.
