Retain all the safety guidelines and instructions for future reference. The term "Power tool" used in the following safety instructions refers to power tools with a mains cable or to cordless power tools without a mains cable.

Workplace safety

• Keep the workplace organised and well lit. Dirty or dark workplaces result in accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in potentially explosive surroundings, e.g., near flammable liquids, gases, etc. Power tools may generate sparks, which can ignite flammable materials!
• Keep bystanders and children away when using the power tool. You could lose control of the tool if you get distracted.

Electrical safety

• The power tool plug has to fit into a properly installed socket. The plug should not be changed or modified. Never use adapters with earthed power tools. Proper plugs and sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as heaters, refrigerators or pipes. There is a risk of electric shock.
• Keep power tools away from moisture and rain. The risk of electric shock increases if water gets into power tools!
• Do not misuse the cable under any circumstances! Never carry the power tool by its cable. Do not hang it by the cable or do not pull the cable to disconnect the plug from the socket. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts! Damaged or entangled cable increases the risk of electric shock!
• If you operate the power tool outdoors, make certain to use an extension cable suitable for outdoor use. Using a cable suitable for outdoors reduces the risk of electrical shock.

Personal safety

• Ensure that you are always alert. Be aware of what you are doing and use common sense when working. Do not use a power tool if you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication, or are tired! Carelessness while using power tools may result in serious physical injuries.
• Always wear personal protective equipment and safety glasses when using the power tool. Wearing appropriate protective clothing, such as ear protection, safety glasses, safety shoes and helmet can reduce the risk of injuries, depending on the type and use of the power tool.
• Prevent the power tool from starting unintentionally. Always check whether the device is switched off before connecting it to the battery or the power supply, picking it up or carrying it. Accidents may occur if you keep your finger on the switch while carrying the tool or if you connect the power tool to the power supply when the tool is switched on.

• Remove any setting tools or wrench before switching on the power tool. Any tool or object left in a rotating part of the device may result in injuries.

• Always maintain a normal posture when using power tools and ensure that your footing is secure at all times and that you maintain your balance. This allows you to control the power tool better in unexpected situations.

• Always wear suitable clothing when using a power tool. Never wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves always away from moving parts. This type of clothing or hair can get caught in moving parts!
• If connecting attachments for dust extractors and collectors are available, they should be properly mounted and used. The use of dust extractors can reduce risks caused by dust.

Use and handling of power tools

• Never overload the power tool under any circumstances. Always use the appropriate power tool for your work. Working with the incorrect power tool reduces the safety considerably.

• Never use a power tool if the switch is faulty. A device that cannot be switched on or off must absolutely be repaired and may not be used.

• Before changing the settings or the accessories on the power tool, or storing the device, it must be disconnected from the mains supply and/or the battery. These measures reduce the risk of the device switching on accidentally.

• Keep the unused power tool out of reach of children. Do not allow those who are not familiar with the usage instructions of the device to use it. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of inexperienced users.
• Maintain your power tools properly. Check your tool for misalignment, damage and other conditions that may affect the operation. In case it is damaged, have the power tool repaired by a specialist before using it again.
• Keep the cutting tools clean and sharp. Well maintained tools with sharp blades are less prone to damage, and are better to handle.
• Use the power tool, accessories and tool inserts in accordance with these instructions. Take the conditions and the work to be carried out into account.

Use and handling of cordless tools

• Charge the battery using only the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for a certain type of battery can be a fire hazard if used with a different battery.
• Use power tools only with the explicitly specified batteries. There is a risk of fire and injury if other batteries are used!
• Never store the battery when it is not being used along with other metal objects, such as paper clips, coins and screws. The battery terminals may be shorted under certain circumstances and cause a fire.
• In the event of misuse, fluid may start leaking from the battery. Avoid contact with the fluid. In the event of accidental contact, rinse the affected area immediately with water. If the fluid gets into the eye, obtain medical treatment in addition. The fluid from the battery may cause burns and skin irritation.

Maintenance

• Have the device serviced by a qualified technician and use only identical spare parts.
• Keep the handles free of oil, grease and other liquids to ensure a firm grip.

Safety warnings for reciprocating saws

• Always wear safety glasses ((normal glasses or sunglasses are NOT a substitute for safety glasses) when using the reciprocating saw.
• Wear protective clothing and a dust mask when you machine appropriate material.
• Keep all body parts away from the sawblade. Do not try to hold the material being cut during operation. Carelessness when using the device can lead to serious injuries!
• Always hold the power tool using the insulated handles, as the reciprocating saw may come into contact with concealed power cables or its own power cord. Contact with a live wire can cause current to flow through the metal parts of the power tool and result in an electrical shock!
• Do not use the device during rain. Make sure you keep it in a dry condition indoors. There is a risk of electric shock when using on wet surfaces!
• Do not insert your hands, fingers, hair or other body parts and objects into the device or the sawblade.
• Never block the sawblade.
• Use clamps, screw clamps, a vice or some other practical way to secure and support the workpiece on a stable surface.
• Hold the power tool with both hands when working and ensure secure footing.
• Examine the workpiece for nails before you start working and remove them before machining.

• Always switch the machine off and wait for the blade to stop before removing the device from the workpiece.

• Do not use the device during rest periods or very early in the morning or late at night. Make sure that you do not disturb other people nearby.

• Guide the power tool to the workpiece only after switching it on. Otherwise there is a risk of kickback if the tool gets caught in the material.
• Make sure that the base plate always butts against the workpiece.
• Caution! The saw blade is very hot after sawing.
• Do not allow the tool to run idle unnecessarily.
• Do not slow down the saw blade suddenly after switching off.
• Always clamp the material firmly. Do not support the workpiece with your hand or your foot. Do not touch any objects or the ground with the running saw.
• Some materials may contain toxic chemicals. Take precautions to prevent inhaling this dust and skin contact with it. Follow the safety data of the material manufacturer.
• This device is not intended to be used by individuals (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have been instructed on how to use the device by any such authorised person. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.

• Keep body parts and objects away from rotating parts.

• Do not use the saw especially if there are children or pets nearby.

• Never allow children or those who are not familiar with these instructions to use the device. National regulations may restrict the age of the user.
• The user is responsible for accidents or damage to others or their property.
• Always wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Do not use the device barefoot or when wearing open sandals.

Wearing tight-fitting gloves, non-slip footwear is recommended. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery that could get caught in moving parts.

• Before use, always check if the sawblade is worn out or damaged. Never work with a damaged or excessively worn out sawblades.
• Use the device only in daylight or good artificial light. Make sure that all the supplied handles and guards are mounted when operating the device. Never use a reciprocating saw with unauthorised modifications.
• When operating the reciprocating saw, always ensure a secure footing and maintain your balance. Always be aware of your surroundings and be prepared for any dangerous situations that you may not hear while saw-ing.
• Check the reciprocating saw for damage and get it repaired if the saw has come into contact with a foreign object.

• Store the reciprocating saw in a dry, safe place out of the reach of children.

• Do not try to repair the device unless you have the necessary training.

• The device is provided a safety switch in the handle as contact protection for the moving blade unit. Both switches have to be pressed simultaneously to operate the saw.
• Do not use the device if you can operate it with only one switch or entirely without the switch.
• Caution! Turn off the garden tool before maintenance or cleaning and remove the battery.
• Never block the ON/OFF switch! If it is blocked, remove the battery carefully!

Ensure that you keep all the safety instructions carefully!

Caution!: Always follow these safety guidelines! Familiarise yourself with the corresponding product! Not following and misusing the safety guidelines given in this manual may cause serious injuries!

Important safety instructions for batteries

• Please note all the safety instructions and warnings given in this manual and the warnings related to the battery, charger and power tool before using the battery.
• Do not disassemble the battery!
• If the operating time of the battery is significantly lower than usual, then stop using the device immediately.

There is a risk of overheating or explosion.

• If battery fluid gets into your eyes, wash it out immediately! Obtain medical treatment immediately! There is a risk of losing your eyesight.
• Do not short-circuit the battery. Do not touch the contacts using conductive materials. Do not store the device along with conductive materials.
• Do not allow any liquid to come into contact with the battery. A short circuit generates a very high flow of current and can result in overheating or burns.
• Do not store the power tool or the battery in places where the temperature exceeds 50^ C
• Never try to burn the battery even if it is damaged. The battery may explode in the fire!
• Ensure that the battery is never dropped or exposed to any impact. Do not use the battery if it has been dropped or has been shaken.

Notes on battery service life

• Charge the battery only when it is completely empty. Switch off the power tool if you notice a reduction in its capacity. Charge the battery subsequently.
• Overcharging the batteries reduces its service life. Avoid charging a fully charged battery.
• Allow the battery to cool down before charging it. Charge the battery at a room temperature between 10^ and 40^ .

Intended use

The reciprocating saw is designed for cutting wood, metal and plastic using an appropriate sawblade.

Ensure that you keep these safety instructions carefully!

3. Product details

4. Initial use

Take the device out of the package and remove all the packaging material. Check that the product and the components are intact and that the device is working properly when using it for the first time Charge the battery before initial use with the provided charger. Insert the charged battery at the bottom of the device into the port and make sure that it locks into place.

Remove any protective covers. Make sure that sensitive objects are not damaged once a sawblade is inserted. Ensure that the safety switch is not pressed.

When using the reciprocating saw, hold the handle firmly to operate the tool properly. The reciprocating saw is now ready for use.

To start the device, press the "safety switch" and thereby unlock the "ON/OFF switch". Now press the "ON/OFF switch" gently to start the saw.

The saw has to be unlocked, otherwise it will not switch on.

CAUTION!

• Always switch off the device before inserting or removing the battery. Hold the device firmly while doing so!
• Do not cover the air vents or the intake opening!
• Always slide the battery onto the device until it clicks into place. If the battery does not slide without any resistance on the battery guide bar, then it is not properly aligned.
• Before inserting the new battery, allow the device to rest for at least 15 minutes after using it continuously and discharging the battery.
• Always grip the device firmly! Always ensure secure footing when using the device!

5. Replacing the battery

To replace the battery, slide it over the guide rail (2) until it clicks into place. Unlock the battery by pressing the "Battery unlocking" button (1) and then slide the battery out of the device (2) for removing the battery.

6. Charging the battery

Charge the battery using the charging station provided. A status LED is located on the charging station. As long as the LED is red, then charging is in progress. When the LED turns green, the battery is then fully charged and can be reused.

There is a charging level indicator on the battery itself. Press the button shown in the figure below.

7. Saw blades

Saw blade selection

The correct selection of the appropriate sawblade is crucial for the performance of the device. Select the appropriate sawblade depending on the material to be cut. A correctly chosen sawblade makes it easier and faster to cut and increases the life of the sawblade. Saw blades with fewer teeth, for example 10 teeth per inch (TPI) are typically used for cutting wood, while saw blades with more teeth are suitable for cutting metal or plastic. We recommend 14 TPI for plastics and soft metals and 18 TPI for hard metals. The reciprocating saw is suitable for the following purposes:

• Cutting all types of wood, including lumber, plywood, panels, composition boards and hardwood.
• Cutting drywalls
  Cutting plastic
• Cutting metals such as steel sheets, pipe, steel rods, aluminium, brass and copper

Note: Accessories such as saw blades and lubricating oils can be purchased separately from special markets.

Changing the saw blades

Remove the battery from the device before changing the saw blade. Wear protective gloves when changing the sawblade.

1. Select a new sawblade that is suitable for the job.
2. Turn the sawblade quick lock mechanism in the counterclockwise direction. Keep the quick lock mechanism completely turned. Remove the sawblade or insert a new sawblade carefully along with the shaft fully into the quick lock mechanism.

1. Loosen the saw blade quick lock mechanism and make sure that the blade is firmly in place. The quick lock mechanism automatically closes once you release it.

Caution! The sawblade has to be inserted with the teeth facing down and has to be completely connected with the quick lock mechanism for proper attachment. Check the firmness of the sawblade before each use without the battery.

Shoe setting

The shoe position can be adjusted to vary the cutting depth. To unlock the shoe lock, turn the shoe lock lever downwards and move the shoe to the desired position. Lock the shoe by moving the shoe locking lever upwards.

8. Usage

Hold the device firmly with both hands. Use the device only if you have completely read and understood the user manual and all the relevant safety instructions. Use the device only for intended purpose. To start, press the "safety switch" and unlock the "ON/OFF switch". Press the "ON/OFF switch" to start the saw.

Switch off the device.

To switch off the device, release the "ON/OFF" switch. Remove the battery from the device after use.

Note: Some sparks may be formed in the air vents. However, this does not imply a defect!

9. Sawing

General sawing

Hold the saw firmly in front and away from your body. Make sure that the sawblade is free from foreign bodies. Make sure that the material to be cut is not free to move. Small work pieces should be securely clamped in a vice or clamped to the workbench or table. Always mark the cutting line clearly. Press the "safety button" and then press the "ON/OFF" button to start the sawing. Place the "shoe" on the work piece and then move the sawblade towards the respective cutting line. Use enough pressure to maintain the sawing process. Allow the sawblade and the saw to do the work. Use of excessive pressure which causes the blade to bend or twist, may lead to breakage of the sawblade.

Sawing metal

You can also cut metals such as steel sheets, pipes, steel rods, aluminium, brass and copper with the saw.

Note the following tips for cutting metal:

The sawblade should not be twisted or bent.
- Start with a low speed and exert a little pressure.
- Use cutting oil when cutting soft metals and steel. The oil keep the blades cool, increases the cutting efficiency and increases the life of the sawblades.

Never use petrol as the ignition of the motor could ignite the fumes.

To prevent the workpiece from vibrating, clamp the workpiece firmly and cut it close to the clamping point. When cutting pipes or angle brackets, clamp the workpiece in a vice if possible and cut it near the clamping point. For cutting thin sheet material, clamp the material between a hardboard or a plywood on both sides to avoid vibrations and prevent cracking of the material. Always exert a firm pressure on the shoe.

10. Cleaning and Care

Avoid the use of solvents for cleaning plastic parts. Many plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Always use clean cloths for cleaning to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc. Never immerse the device in water!

Caution! Do not allow petrol, brake fluids, aggressive oils etc. to come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or destroy plastic parts, which can lead to serious injuries

11. Lubricating

All bearings of this tool are lubricated with a sufficient amount of high-grade lubricant for the entire life of the device under normal operating conditions. Hence, no further lubrication is required.

12. Condition of the sawblades

Check the sawblade regularly for wear and tear, bends or damages. If you detect any such thing, you should not use the device further in this condition. Use a new sawblade in this case.

13. Storage

Before storing the reciprocating saw, make sure the unit has been cleaned. Store the device in a dry, well-ventilated place out of reach of children. Keep the device away from corrosive substances such as garden chemicals and salts.

Store the charged battery separately in a cool room. The life of the battery can be significantly reduced if the surrounding is too cold or too hot.

15. Safety instructions and disclaimer

Please do not try to open the device to carry out repairs or modifications. Avoid contact with the mains voltage. Do not short-circuit the product. The device is not waterproof. Please use it only in dry surroundings. Protect it from high humidity, water and snow. Keep the device away from high temperatures.

Do not expose the device to sudden changes in temperature or strong vibrations, as this could damage the electronic components. Check the device for any damage before using it. The device should not be used if it was subject to impact or has been damaged in some other manner. Please comply with the local regulations and restrictions. Do not use the device for purposes other than those described in the user manual.

This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children or mentally disabled persons. Any repair or modifications to the device, which is not carried out by the original supplier will void any warranty and guarantee claims. The device should only be used by those who have read and understood this user manual. The specifications of the device may be changed without prior intimation.

16. Disposal instructions

In line with the European WEEE directive, electrical and electronic devices should not be disposed of along with domestic waste. Their components have to be separately sent for recycling or disposal, because improper disposal of toxic and dangerous components may permanently damage the environment.

According to the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), you are obliged (as a consumer) to return (free of charge) all electrical and electronic devices to the manufacturer, the point of sale, or public collection points at the end of their service life. The relevant local laws regulate the details in this regard. The symbol displayed on the product, in the user manual or/and on the packaging refers to these regulations. 17. Instructions for battery disposal

In conjunction with the sale of batteries along with the supply of devices that include batteries, the supplier is obliged to point out the following to the customer: The customer is legally obliged to return used batteries. He can return used batteries which the supplier offers or has offered as new batteries in his assortment free of charge to the supplier's dispatch warehouse (shipping address). The symbols shown on the batteries indicate the following: Pb = battery contains more than 0.004 percent lead by weight, Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 percent cadmium by weight, Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 percent mercury by weight.

The symbol of the crossed-out dustbin means that the battery may not be disposed of in household waste.
