EU Directive 2013/56/EU on batteries.
The new Directive 2013/56/EU on batteries and accumulators, which replaces the previous directive, came into force on 01/07/2015. The directive applies to all types of batteries and accumulators (AA, AAA, button cells, lead-acid, rechargeable), including those incorporated into appliances, except for military, medical, and power tool applications.
