Before use

Use

2.1 Positioning

- Position the power base as close as possible to a power outlet

- Position the power cord so that it does not hang over the counter and cannot be accidentally caught. To shorten the power cord, wrap it around the cord wrapper located under the power base and bring it out through the slot in the base.

2.2 Opening the cover

Remove the kettle from the power base. If the on/off button has been pushed down inadvertently, it will move back up to the "OFF" position.

Warning: If the water in the kettle has just boiled, a large amount of steam will have formed and will escape as soon as the lid is opened.

Hold the handle firmly with one hand, grab the lid knob with the other and pull it upwards. As soon as you remove the lid, keep it away from the escaping steam.

2.3 Filling

- If possible, fill the kettle through the spout.

- Check the water level using the water level indicator. Use the equivalent of at least one cup of water, making sure the water level does not exceed the "MAX" mark.

- Do not fill the kettle beyond its capacity. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.

2.4 Start-up

- Check that the on/off button is in the "OFF" position (remove the kettle from the power base and then place it back on it).

- Plug the power base into a wall outlet. If necessary, turn on the power outlet by pressing its switch. Carefully position the kettle on the power base, taking care not to spill any water.

- Press the on/off button by pressing it downwards. The button lights up and the kettle begins to heat.

- Once the water has boiled, the kettle turns off automatically, the on/off button returns to the "OFF" position and the indicator light goes out.

2.5 Power off

You can turn the kettle off at any time, before the water has come to a boil, by simply removing the appliance from the power base and then putting it back down. The button on/off will return to the "OFF" position.

General Information

- When you remove the kettle from the base, traces of moisture may be visible on the surface of the base. These come from steam which is used to turn the kettle off automatically, then condenses and drains through holes in the bottom of the kettle. Do not lift it by tilting it backwards, as water could flow onto the control area through the steam outlet holes. If this is the case, let the kettle dry before using it.

- To avoid any risk of splashing, pour the water slowly without tilting the kettle too much.

Bad use

  1. Do not turn on the kettle if it does not contain the equivalent of at least a cup of water. Misuse of this kind will shorten the life of your device.

  2. If the kettle is accidentally turned on without sufficient water, an anti-dry heating device will automatically turn it off. Wait for the kettle to cool before filling it, as the heating element will be very hot, which could cause splashing.

3. Main tenance and cleaning

3.1 Cleaning

  1. Turn off the kettle (remove it from the power base), unplug the power base from the wall socket and allow the kettle to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Wipe the external and internal surfaces of the kettle using a damp cloth. If necessary, you can use a small amount of household detergent. For cleaning the filter, please refer to the "Water Filter" section below. If you use detergent inside the kettle, rinse it thoroughly to remove all traces.
  3. Make sure that none of the electrical connections and sockets come into contact with water.

Do not immerse the kettle or power base in water or any other liquid.

Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning products or solvents.

Do not put the kettle, its removable parts, or the power base in the dishwasher.

3.2 Descaling

The accumulation of limescale can cause the resistance to overheat, reducing its lifespan. It may also trigger the safety device prematurely and interrupt the operation of the kettle, before the water has come to a boil.

Since the resistance is assembled under the kettle, there is no nook or cranny where limescale can be deposited. This can build up on the walls and bottom of the kettle, where it is visible and can be removed.

To reduce limescale buildup:

  1. Empty the kettle after each use; do not leave water in the kettle overnight; use filtered water rather than regular tap water.
  2. Descale the kettle regularly using a brand of descaler specifically recommended for use with plastic products. In areas with very hard water, it may be necessary to descale the kettle once a month.
  3. When descaling, follow the instructions on the descaler packaging. When descaling is finished, empty the kettle and rinse it several times with clean water. Then fill it with clean water and boil it. Then throw away the water. No chemical residue should therefore remain in the kettle.

NOTE: Products returned during the warranty period, and whose malfunctions are directly linked to limescale accumulation, will be subject to repair costs.

3.3 Water filter

Limescale particles remaining suspended in water can make it appear cloudy or greasy, depending on the hardness of the water.

The filter, which your kettle is equipped with, will prevent these particles from passing into your drink. Check that the filter remains clean and free of deposits so as not to affect the performance of your kettle, to guarantee the absence of limescale particles in your drinks and to ensure the clarity of the water contained in the kettle.

Wash the filter as soon as you notice visible deposits, especially when water flow is affected in any way.
