Frequently Asked Questions - PR157FR PRIMO

How to adjust the refrigerator temperature?
Use the control knob located inside. Turn it from MIN (about 10°C) to MAX (about 0°C). For normal use, set to a medium position. After first use or defrosting, set to MAX for 2 hours before inserting food.
Why is my refrigerator making noise?
Check that it is level (use adjustable feet). Make sure it is not in direct contact with a wall or furniture. Normal operating noise may come from the compressor or refrigerant circulation.
How to reverse the door opening direction?
Unplug and empty the appliance. Remove the hinges and cover plates, then move the hinges to the other side. It is recommended to call a qualified technician for this operation.
What to do in case of a power outage?
Most outages last 1 to 2 hours without impact. Open the door as little as possible. For a prolonged outage, protect food with dry ice or consume quickly.
How to defrost the freezer?
Unplug the appliance, remove food and leave the door open. Place a pan to collect water. Do not use sharp objects; a plastic scraper is sufficient. Once defrosted, dry thoroughly and plug back in.
Why is the inside of the refrigerator too warm?
Check that the appliance is plugged in and the thermostat is not set to OFF. Ensure the door closes properly, air circulates at the back (at least 13 cm gap), and the appliance is not near a heat source.
Can I use an extension cord?
No, the appliance must not be plugged in via an extension cord or power strip. Plug it directly into a suitable wall outlet.
How to clean the refrigerator?
Set the thermostat to OFF and unplug. Remove food. Clean the interior with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and mild detergent. Clean the door gasket with clean water. Dry well before plugging back in.
What to do if ice forms in the refrigerator?
Excessive accumulation may be due to a poorly closed door, high ambient humidity, or too cold a setting. Check the door gasket and adjust the thermostat to a less cold position if necessary.
Which foods should not be stored in this refrigerator?
Do not store bananas, onions, potatoes, or garlic in the refrigerator. Place raw meat and fish in separate containers to avoid contamination.

USE

STORAGE GUIDE

For the best storage, set up your refrigerating appliance as follows:

Refrigerator compartment Type of food
Door rack • Food with naturalpreservatives such as jams, juices, drinks, spices, etc. • Do not store food with a limited shelf life here
Crisper drawer • Fruits, herbs, and vegetables • Do not refrigerate bananas, onions, potatoes, or garlic
Middle shelf • Dairy and eggs
Top shelf • Food that does not need to be cooked, such as readymade meals, leftovers, spreads, etc.

AMBIENT TEMPERATURE

This appliance is designed to operate in an ambient temperature between 16^ C and 38^ C. The device will not work properly in a room with a lower or higher temperature. If the ambient temperature is exceeded for a long period of time, the temperature in the refrigerator will exceed 4^ C and the food may spoil.

TEMPERATURE SETTING

The refrigerator is controlled by a temperature controller located inside the appliance. Set the controller to the desired position.

• MIN is the warmest setting (+/- 10°C)
• MAX is the coldest setting (+/- 0°C)
- The operating time and temperature are affected by the location where the refrigerator is used, the number of times the door is opened and the temperature of the room where the refrigerator is located.
- When using the appliance or after defrosting the appliance, set the regulator to the coldest setting for at least 2 hours before storing food and then set it to the medium setting.

MOVING THE DEVICE

- If the unit is turned off for any reason, wait 10 minutes before turning it on again. The pressure in the cooling system should be stabilized before you turn the unit on again.

- Turn off the appliance and unplug it. Remove all food products. Also remove or secure all mobile parts (shelves, accessories, etc.) inside the refrigerator to avoid shocks.

- Move the appliance and install. If the appliance was held on its side while moving, even if very briefly, leave the appliance in the upright position for at least 10 minutes before turning it on.

- The refrigerator uses isobutane (R600a) as the refrigerant. Notwithstanding that R600a is an environmentally friendly and natural gas, it is flammable. So be very careful while moving or installing the appliance to avoid damage to the cooling elements. In case of a leak caused by damage to the cooling elements, move the refrigerator away from open flames or heat sources and ventilate the room in which the unit is located for a few minutes.

STORING FOOD IN THE REFRIGERATOR

The refrigerator provides extended storage time for fresh, perishable foods. Store fresh food for best results:

- Store only very fresh food of good quality.

• Make sure foods are properly wrapped or covered before storing. This avoids foods drying out, becoming paler or losing flavor and ensures longer freshness. This also avoids transmission of odors.

- Make sure foods with strong odors are properly wrapped and covered and store them away from butter, milk and cream and other foods that can be affected by strong odors.

- Allow hot foods to cool before placing them in the refrigerator.

FREEZER

- The freezing process takes 24 hours. Do not add any other food to be frozen during this period.

- When the freezer has not been used for a period of time and is restarted after this, the appliance must be on for at least 2 hours before you can put products to be frozen in the freezer.

- Important: If the freezer defrosts accidentally - for example, in case of a power outage - the frozen food must be consumed quickly or prepared immediately.

- Excess ice in the freezer should be removed. Do not use sharp objects to remove the ice. Use a plastic scraper.

If the ice is too thick to scrape away, defrost the freezer as follows:

  1. Unplug the freezer.
  2. Remove all food from the freezer.
  3. Leave the freezer door open and place a catch basin under the appliance to catch the thawing water.
  4. When the defrosting is complete, dry the appliance completely.
  5. Plug the power cord back in to allow the appliance to operate again.

HOLIDAY

When going on vacation for a short period of time, you can leave the device turned on.

When going on vacation for a longer period of time, it is best to do the following:

  • Remove all food from the refrigerator.
  • Remove the plug from the electrical outlet.
  • Clean the refrigerator thoroughly.
  • Leave the refrigerator door open to avoid mold and bad odors.

POWER FAILURE

Most power outages are recovered in 1 or 2 hours and will not change the temperature of the refrigerator. You should, however, keep opening the refrigerator door to a minimum during a power failure. During a longer power outage, you should take measures to protect the food, e.g. by putting dry ice on the food.

IMPORTANT RULES

  • Never place hot food in the refrigerator.
  • Beverages should be kept in a sealed container.
  • Food kept in the refrigerator for longer periods of time should be covered or kept in glass containers.
  • Never place spoiled food in the refrigerator.
  • Always make sure that the refrigerator is not overloaded so that food can be adequately cooled.
  • Open the refrigerator door only when necessary.
  • The appliance must not be used for outdoor camping e.g. tent.
  • Must only be used indoors.
