The power cord should only be connected to a properly installed and earthed mains socket with a protective earth contact. The voltage rating must correspond to the data on the rating plate.

The mains socket must be located near the appliance and be easily accessible.

Never plug in or unplug the power cord from the mains socket or the mains connection on the appliance when your hands are wet.

1 Lid 2 Drain valve (Item No.: 2901769) 3 On/off switch 4 Fuse holder 5 Mains connection 6 Heat control knob 7 HEATING indicator 8 ULTRASONIC indicator 9 Timer control knob 7 Getting started Important: – Only use this appliance to clean suitable objects. It can damage objects that are not suitable for ultrasonic cleaning. If in doubt, enquire with the vendor about the item to be cleaned. – Examples of suitable objects: – Glasses with metal frames – Jewellery and watch straps made of metal – Coins, cutlery – Writing and drawing instruments and their accessories – Braces, dentures – Vehicle parts, engine parts, carburettors, drive chains, tools – Ink cartridges – Electronic circuit boards – Weapon parts and cartridge cases – Fine mechanical parts – Examples of unsuitable objects: – Articial ngernails – Contact lenses – Watches – Jewellery with porous or fragile stones – Costume jewellery – Pearls, corals, opals, turquoise, lapis lazuli, malachite, etc. – Glasses with frames made of natural materials, such as a horn or tortoise shell. – Wood, textiles, leather or objects containing such materials

Place the ultrasonic cleaner on a horizontal, level surface resistant to moisture.

The installation surface must be stable enough to bear the weight of the ultrasonic cleaner lled with cleaning liquid.

7.2 Mounting the drain hose and lter (Item No.: 2901769)

1. Screw the connection piece for the drain hose onto the drain valve (2).

Æ If necessary, use the supplied sealing tape to seal the connection. For this purpose, wrap the sealing tape around the thread before screwing on the connection piece.

2. Attach the supplied drain hose to the connection piece.

3. Use the supplied hose clamp to secure the hose to the drain valve (2).

4. Fit the supplied lter onto the drain opening inside the tank.

7.3 Preparations for use

Important: – Never place anything on the bottom of the tank. Always put the objects to be cleaned into the stainless steel basket. You will thus protect the items to be cleaned and the tank of the appliance from scratches and improve the cleaning performance. – Only use water or cleaning additives that are approved and suitable for ultrasonic cleaning. Never use ammable, corrosive, caustic or other aggressive cleaning uids. Furthermore, it must be safe for the objects to be cleaned. – Ensure that the tank is always at least 2/3 full to avoid damage to the appliance. Exer- cise extreme caution when using the heating mode, as the cleaning liquid in the tank may evaporate quickly. – When using the heating mode for preheating the cleaning liquid, stir it every 15 minutes or switch on the ultrasonic mode to ensure better heat distribution and avoid the risk of delayed boiling of the liquid.

1. Remove the lid (1) and pour the cleaning liquid into the tank.

Æ If you wish to use the heating mode, you can add warm water. This signicantly reduces the heating time. Æ Most cleaning liquids contain gases that adversely affect the cleaning process. You can avoid this by degassing the cleaning liquid using the ultrasonic mode for approx. 10 minutes before the cleaning process.

2. Put the object(s) to be cleaned into the cleaning basket and place the basket in the tank.

Æ If you do not want to ll the whole tank with cleaning liquid or when cleaning smaller objects, you can put a glass or a similar container in the basket. In this case, add the cleaning liquid to the glass only and ll the rest of the tank with water. This “indirect” ultrasonic cleaning method has the advantage of saving on cleaner. But this method somewhat reduces the cleaning performance. Æ Do not put too many items in the cleaning basket. This also reduces the cleaning per- formance. Preferably place the items so that they do not touch each other. When in contact, items can scratch each other during cleaning. Æ Place more heavily soiled items on the bottom. Æ Place the items in a way that prevents the formation of air bubbles.

3. Replace the lid (1) on the appliance.

Æ The lid (1) should be in place throughout the cleaning process. This prevents objects from falling into the tank and the cleaning liquid from cooling down.

4. Plug the power cord into the mains connection (5) and connect the mains plug to a wall

1. You can adjust the cleaning time with the timer control knob (9).

Æ The timer control knob (9) turns back counter-clockwise during cleaning until reaching the OFF position and turning off the ultrasonic mode. To abort the cleaning process, turn the timer control knob (9) back manually to switch off the ultrasonic mode.

2. You can adjust the cleaning temperature with the heat control knob (6).

Æ You do not have to use the heating mode. You can just leave the heat control knob in the OFF position. Æ The best cleaning results can be achieved at temperatures of approx. 50 – 60 °C. But remember that the temperature setting should not cause any damage to the objects to be cleaned.

3. Switch on the appliance by setting the on/off switch (3) to “I”.

Æ When the heating mode is activated, the HEATING indicator (7) lights up. The heating switches off when the set temperature is reached and on again when the temperature drops below the set temperature. Æ When the ultrasonic mode is activated, the ULTRASONIC indicator (8) lights up.

4. After the preset cleaning time has elapsed, the ultrasonic mode switches off automatically,

and the ULTRASONIC indicator (8) goes out.

5. You have to switch off the heating manually. To do this, turn the heat control knob (6) to

“OFF”. The HEATING (7) indicator goes out.

6. Press the on/off switch (3) to switch off the appliance (set the switch to “O”).

7. Unplug the power cord from the wall socket and the mains connection (5).

8. Lift off the lid (1) and remove the cleaning basket.

Æ CAUTION! The items in the tank and the tank itself may be hot. Allow sufcient time to cool down.

9. Rinse the cleaned items with water.

10. Empty the tank. Clean it and wipe it dry.

Æ The 10 l version (Item No.: 2901769) features a drain valve (2) to facilitate emptying the large tank. This is a publication by Conrad Electronic SE, Klaus-Conrad-Str. 1, D-92240 Hirschau (www.conrad.com). They can damage the housing and can cause the product to malfunction. – Do not immerse the product in water.

3. Use a dry or slightly damp cloth to clean the rest of the housing.

10 Changing the fuse If the event that you need to replace the fuse, ensure that you only use fuses of the specied type and rated current as a replacement (see “Technical data”). Never repair fuses or bridge the fuse holder.

1. Switch off the appliance by setting the on/off switch (3) to “O”.

2. Unplug the power cord from the mains socket and the mains connection (5).

3. Pry the fuse holder (4) out of its socket using a screwdriver.
