How to connect the inverter to a battery?
Make sure the switch is in the OFF (0) position. Connect the positive cable of the battery to the '+' terminal (3) and the negative to the '-' terminal (2). Use a high-current fuse directly on the battery. Observe the minimum cable cross-section (25 mm² for <2 m, 35 mm² for <3 m).
What does the flashing of the LEDs mean?
The green input LED (9) and output LED (10) indicate the status: both on = normal operation; slow flashing of LED 9 = pre-warning deep discharge; rapid flashing of both = overvoltage, short circuit or overload. Refer to the troubleshooting table in the manual.
How to activate sleep mode?
Set DIP switch No. 2 to ON (downwards). In sleep mode, the inverter turns off and checks every 20 seconds if a load >10 W is present. If so, it returns to normal mode. To deactivate, set switch No. 2 back to the up position.
Can I use the inverter for a refrigerator?
Yes, but be careful with starting power. A refrigerator may require up to 10 times its nominal power at startup. Check that the maximum power of the inverter (2400 VA for 2 s) is sufficient. For example, a 50 W refrigerator may require 500 W at startup, which is compatible.
What are the built-in protections?
The inverter has protections against: reverse polarity (cannot start), overvoltage (shutdown >16 V), undervoltage/deep discharge (adjustable threshold), overload, short circuit and overheating (thermal shutdown with controlled fan).
How to adjust the deep discharge protection?
The default threshold is 10.5 V at no load and 9.5 V under load. You can adjust it individually (9.0 - 11.5 V) using an optional LCD remote control (FB-02 or FB-03 SWD). Follow the remote control manual.
What cable cross-section to use for DC connection?
For the SWD-1200/12, the minimum cross-section is 25 mm² for a cable max. 2 m, and 35 mm² for 3 m. Use short and thick cables to limit voltage drop.
Can I charge my phone via the USB port?
Yes, the USB output (8) delivers 5 V / 500 mA, suitable for charging small devices like phones, MP3 players. It is only active when the inverter is running. No data transmission is possible.
What to do in case of overheating?
The inverter automatically shuts down for safety. Do not turn it off, let it cool down in a well-ventilated place. Once the temperature is normal, it restarts automatically. Check that the ventilation openings are not obstructed.
How to clean the inverter?
Before any cleaning, turn off the device and disconnect it. Use a clean, dry, antistatic, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive, chemical detergents or those containing solvents.
