Frequently Asked Questions - 16250087 Melissa

How to clean the waffle maker after use?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely with the lid open. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Non-stick plates can be cleaned with a damp cloth or soft brush. Never immerse the appliance in water or put it in the dishwasher.
What to do if the appliance does not heat up?
Check that the appliance is properly plugged into a 230 V, 50 Hz outlet. Ensure the cord is not damaged. If the problem persists, contact the retailer for repair by an approved professional.
Can metal utensils be used on the plates?
No, use only wooden or plastic spatulas to avoid scratching the non-stick coating.
Why do waffles stick to the plates?
Make sure to grease the plates with a little oil, margarine, or butter before each batch. Also ensure the batter is not too runny and the appliance has reached the correct temperature (the green indicator goes off).
How long does it take to preheat the waffle maker?
Before first use, preheat the appliance empty for 10 minutes to eliminate the new smell. For subsequent uses, wait for the green indicator to go out, indicating the cooking temperature has been reached.
How to adjust the cooking temperature?
Turn the temperature control knob to the desired setting. The thermostat maintains the temperature; the green indicator turns on and off during cooking to indicate the heating cycle.
Are the plates removable?
The manual does not specify that the plates are removable. It is recommended to clean the plates in place with a damp cloth without removing them.
Can I use spray oil to grease the plates?
Yes, you can use spray oil, but make sure to spread the oil evenly over the entire non-stick surface to prevent waffles from sticking.
What to do if the power cord is damaged?
Do not use the appliance and have the cord replaced by an approved repairer. Do not attempt to repair it yourself, as this will void the warranty.
Where can I find spare parts or contact customer service?
Visit www.adexi.eu for contact details. Contact the retailer for warranty repairs. Only use accessories and spare parts provided by the manufacturer.

  4. Hotplates

UK

USE

  1. Close the lid. Plug the appliance in.
  2. The red and the green indicator light come on and the appliance begins to heat up. When the green indicator light goes off, the appliance has reached the correct temperature and is ready for use.
  3. During cooking, the green indicator light will come on and go off several times. This merely means that the thermostat is coming on and going off from time to time.

NB! The indicator lights do not indicate if the waffles are ready or not.

  1. Open the lid. Grease the non-stick plates with a little cooking oil, margarine or butter before use.
  2. Pour a portion of batter in the hotplate recesses, and if necessary, spread the batter with a rubber spatula or the like.
  3. Close the lid and press down gently so that the batter is evenly distributed.
  4. When the waffles are finished, open the lid and remove the waffles with a wooden or plastic spatula.
  5. Grease the hot plates again and pour fresh batter into the appliance.
  6. Before cleaning, remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the appliance to cool down.

HELPFUL HINTS

  • If you use milk instead of water, the waffles will be softer and darker.
  • In order to achieve uniform browning, all ingredients should be the same temperature.

Unless clearly specified in the cleaning instructions below, please note that none of the parts of this appliance are dishwasher safe.

Before cleaning, remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the appliance to cool down with the lid open.

For reasons of electrical safety, never use water or any other kind of liquid on the appliance nor immerse it.
