Frequently Asked Questions - EB35 Duronic

How to use the Duronic EB35 egg cooker?
Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface. Poke a hole in the top of each egg with the piercer to prevent cracking. Place the eggs in the rack, pierced ends up. Fill the measuring cup with cold water to the MIN mark and pour into the appliance. Select the desired cooking program (soft, medium, hard). Plug in and turn on. An audible signal indicates the end of cooking. Turn off, unplug, carefully remove the lid and rack.
How to clean the egg cooker after use?
Unplug and let it cool completely. Clean the interior surface with a damp cloth. Wash the lid and egg rack in warm soapy water. Do not use abrasive products or harsh descaling agents. Never immerse the appliance in water.
How to descale the egg cooker?
Fill the water reservoir and add a little white vinegar. Select the 'hard-boiled' program and let it heat for a few minutes. Unplug, empty the solution, and let it cool before wiping.
Can you cook eggs without water?
No, never use the appliance without water as this could damage the appliance and pose a burn risk. Always fill at least to the MIN mark.
How to prevent eggs from cracking during cooking?
Use the provided piercer to make a small hole in the rounded end of the egg before cooking. This allows pressure to escape and prevents cracks.
What to do if the cooker does not turn on?
Check that the plug is properly inserted and the voltage matches your mains (220-240 V). Make sure the appliance is set to 'On'. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
How long does it take to cook hard-boiled eggs?
The time depends on the size and number of eggs. The manual indicates that you need to select the 'hard-boiled' program and that the time varies. For example, for 7 large eggs, you should select the 'medium' mode (because the 'hard' program may be for fewer eggs). Refer to the table in the instructions.
Can I leave the appliance unattended during cooking?
No, never leave the appliance running unattended. There is a risk of burns or overflow. Stay present throughout the cooking time.
How many eggs can I cook at once?
The cooker can hold up to 7 eggs at a time.
How to easily peel cooked eggs?
After cooking, plunge the eggs into cold water for a few seconds. This stops the cooking and makes peeling easier.

Using the EB35

Caution: Do not operate the appliance without water in the boiling pan.

Danger: Handle the egg piercer with care, it is extremely sharp.

- Place the egg boiler on a flat, even, and heat-resistant surface.

- Use the egg piercer to pierce a hole in the round end of the egg. This prevents the egg shells from cracking.

- Place the eggs in the egg rack with the pierced side facing up.

- Fill the beaker up to the top with cold water, then pour the water into the boiling pan.

- The beaker must be filled up to the MIN-mark at least, otherwise the boiling process will be stopped too early or the eggs will not be as intended.

If the eggs are not dipped in cold water, they will continue to cook and become difficult to peel. If you use the egg boiler several times in succession, allow it to cool for approximately 5 minutes between each batch of eggs you boil.

After Use

After the egg boiler has cooled, tip out the residual water and wipe the boiling pan with a soft damp cloth to prevent scale deposits.
