PERMANENT HEPA TOWER AIR PURIFIERS
For Model Series HHT-080 and HHT-100
- Do not run power cord under carpets, and do not cover with throw rugs. Arrange cord such that it will not be tripped over.
- Do not use air cleaner where combustible gases or vapors are present.
- Do not expose the air purifier to rain, or use near water, in a bathroom, laundry area or other damp location.
- The air purifier must be used in its upright position.
- Do not allow foreign objects to enter ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause electric shock or damage to the air purifier. Do not block air outlets or intakes.
- Locate air purifier near the outlet and avoid using an extension cord.
- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of shock, this plug is intended to fit only one way in a polarized outlet. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature.
- A loose fit between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheating and a distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose or worn outlet.
- Do not sit, stand or place heavy objects on the air purifier.
- Disconnect power supply before servicing.
WARNING: To Reduce The Risk of Fire or Electric Shock, Do Not Use This Air Purifier With Any Solid-State Speed Control Device.

- Select a firm, level and flat location. For proper airflow, locate the unit at least 3 feet (1 M) from any wall or furniture.
- When operating, large volumes of air are drawn toward the air purifier. Surrounding areas should be cleaned and/or vacuumed frequently to prevent build-up of dust and other contaminates. This may also help prolong the life of the filter. If the unit is placed on a light colored carpet, a small mat or rug should be used underneath to prevent permanent staining. This is especially important in homes with contamination from smoking or fireplaces.
INSTALL HEPA-TYPE FILTERS
The HEPA-Type Filters are supplied within the air purifier. They are wrapped to ensure purity.
- Turn-off and unplug the air purifier. While pressing on the notches along the rear grille, pull the grille towards you and remove it (See Fig. 2a & 2b). Gently push along the edge of the filter frame and pull forward. Repeat for the second filter.
- Remove protective wrap from the filters.
- Place back into the air purifier housing and snap filter grille into place.

ELECTRONIC FILTER CLEAN REMINDER
This model air purifier has an electronic filter check to remind you when to check and clean the HEPA-Type filters based on the air cleaner's hours of use.
When the HEPA-Type filters need to be cleaned, the light will remain on until it is RESET. You may unplug the air cleaner without interrupting the filter check.
A red LED light will illuminate when it is time to clean the filter.
You should periodically check the filter. Depending on operating conditions, the filters should be cleaned every 6 months to a year.

To RESET the Electronic Filter Check:
When the filter monitor light remains on, it is time to check/clean the HEPA-Type filters and reset the filter monitor, if needed. With the unit powered on, insert the tip of a ball-point pen or paperclip next to the LED filter check light and hold for approximately 5 seconds until the light turns off (Fig 5a & 5b). Depending upon your individual usage (environment and hours used), you may need to check and clean the filters more or less frequently. If the HEPA-Type filters are cleaned before the filter monitor light turns on, the filter monitor should be reset at the same time.
These cleaning intervals are intended as guidelines only. Performance of any filter media is dependent upon the concentration of contaminants going through the system. High concentrations of contaminants such as dust, pet dander and smoking will reduce the useful performance of the filter.
NOTE: The HEPA-Type filters are not washable.
OSCILLATION FEATURE (MODEL HHT-100 SERIES)
To help circulate fresher, cleaner air through the room, this unit has an oscillation feature.
- To turn Oscillation on, simply press the Oscillation button (Fig. 6).
- To turn Oscillation Off, press the button again.

Fig. 6CLEANING THE HEPA-TYPE FILTERS
The Honeywell models HHT-080 Series and HHT-100 Series are equipped with permanent HEPA-Type filters which never need replacement with normal use.
To Clean Your HEPA-Type Filter:
- DO NOT USE WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS TO CLEAN THE HEPA-TYPE FILTER.
- To vacuum-clean the filter, hold the filter and run a vacuum cleaner with a nozzle or brush attachment along the filter to pick-up the dirt and particles (Fig. 7). Repeat along the entire surface of the HEPA-Type filter.
- Note the filter may still be discolored even after cleaning it. This is acceptable and will not affect performance.
- After vacuuming the filter, place it back into the air purifier housing and snap filter grille into place. If you have difficulty cleaning the filter, please visit us at www.kaz.com or call us at 1-800-332-1110.

The stage 1 particle pre-filter helps pick up large airborne particles that enter the rear grille. This pre-filter can be periodically removed and shaken to clean it. Alternatively, it can be rinsed by hand under warm water (Fig. 8). Let the pre-filter air dry completely before inserting back into the unit. If you need to replace this item, please see Consumer Relations section on the next page.

We recommend that you clean the air purifier at least once a month and before extended storage. Use only a dry cloth to wipe the external surfaces of the air purifier. DO NOT USE WATER, WAX POLISH, OR ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTION.
If your Air Purifier will not be used for more than 30 days, we recommend:
- Remove the HEPA-Type Filters from the unit.
- Wrap the HEPA-Type Filters in an air tight plastic bag.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
My Air Purifier is starting to make noise and the air output is less. What's wrong?
The filters may be dirty. High amounts of contaminants can block the pores in the filter and stop the air from moving through it. Clean the Filters.
How long should I run my Air Purifier?
For best results, you should operate your Air Purifier 24 hours a day. This unit will be more effective when doors and windows are closed.
Can I wash my HEPA-Type filter?
No. Washing the HEPA-Type filter will destroy it.
